Thanks for the comments ^_^ I really appreciate it.
This is a doodle I did today of an idea for a fan navi I've had in my head for some time now. What else do you expect me to do when I finish my Geography exam in ten minutes? XD;
She doesn't have a name, or an icon for that matter. I've thought about naming her Harajuku, but I don't think it flows very well. Plus I think I mispelled it. x_o;
And.. uh.. ignore the doodlage, I ran out of inspiration when I reached her skirt and didn't want to pay attention to Pearl Harbor. (Hence the "War movies make me unhappy.") |

the first navi is great and kinda reminds me of motoko kusanagi from ghost in the shell. the second one looks very jazzy to me for some reason. still very good!

This is quite original (the fan Navi design, I mean). Reminds me of a zoot suit for some reason, and her overall look is like Jigen from Lupin III. An interesting and cool design...almost brings Rockman.EXE into the world of film noir.
On another note, the doodle of Serenade threatening Forte with a hammer is very amusing. Basic weapons make for the best victories.

Sable again. Yet another style change idea, this one temporarily being called 'Ra Style'. I had a better name for it, but I can't spell it right. It's the Arabic term for 'Angel of Death'. I don't remember if it's spelled Arazil or Azaril. @_@
Right now I'm mostly looking for critique on color scheme and design, rather than talent since I doodled this thing up while I was in a horrible art slump. I'm not very happy with the color scheme as of now, so any help or opinions would be appreciated. |

i like the color scheme. it is very serenadish (the ways serenade is colored) which is good.

A dramatically different style change from the others. Almost looks kind of seraphic, in a Safer Sephiroth or Omega X way. Considering this is modeled after an angel of death (I don't know the exact spelling either), I think the color scheme is pretty appropriate. It could be even cooler if the white areas of his body were black; it would make him look more evil, and therefore, more like an angel of death. :]

Hm.. well, I had his bodysuit white in the first place because despite it being an Angel of Death, he's a Light type (it's as such in order to mislead opponents). But, I'll see what it looks like black - thank you for the suggestion and the comment ^_^

...Holy cow, someone noticed. XD Yeah, I did base him a little bit off Serenade for the fact that Serenade's the one that gives him this style (even at the risk of him starting to look like a Mary-Sam.. x_x).
In a story that I have yet to write, Serenade's put in charge of a bunch of artifacts that she has to give to Navis in order to grant them powers. Naturally, the first was the Muramasa Blade she gives to Blues, then a crystal ball called the 'Prophet's Eye' that she gives to my other Navi Gypsy, and another is a thing called the 'Ra's Eye' that she gives to Sable in order to give him this style. Yay for unoriginality. |

Great picture! Strange mix of Egyptian style and Arabic culture. What I wonder about is; what sort of connection is there between Ra, the sun god of Egyptian mythos, and the Angel of Death? Seems a little sunny for such a dark duty.
My guess is that the Arabic name is Azaril. From what I've found on the internet, the Hebrew name Azrael (Azerel, Azirel, or any other variation) means "God Has Helped" or "God Helps", from the Hebrew Ayin Zayin Resh "Azer/Azar/Azir" meaning "help", and Aleph Lamed "El" meaning "God".

I have no idea. I only called him Ra Style cos I didn't know how to spell Azaril. XD; Plus his wings reminded me of the YuGiOh God Card..
Azaril was my first guess. But I usually don't trust myself, so.. yeah. Thank you, your explanation sounds plausible - I'll stick with Azaril.

New picture, quick OC doodle done to see if I can create a soft, airbrush technique. I kinda like how it turned out, critique is welcome (and I know his proportions are horrid ^^;).

My art trade with VGR. This is one of his fan-navis, Blind. I was gonna draw Lumine too, but I couldn't figure out how to fit her in ^^;;
Sketched, Inked, and Colored in OpenCanvas. Special effects and background added in Photoshop.
Sorry it's not as pretty and bloody as what you drew for me XD; I tried, though. |
