Battle Network 2. It's way better than Battle Network 4. The sprites are better, and the game just feels more open than 4. I seriously thought that the Battle Network 4 games were bootlegs. The only thing they have that makes them good are the Soul Unisons, Duo, A new Forte, and the ability to laugh at Rockman DS when he shoots his own Guardians. I can play Battle Network 2 for hours and not get bored. This is just my opinion, and I'm sure their are other people who disagree with me (STFU YOU STUPID STONER BN4 IS WAY BETTER THAN THE OTHERS!!! -A denizen of another forum who's name doesn't deserve to be spoken.) _________________ EXEHQ. Hmmm...this has been discussed before.
IMHO, BN4 is a piece of trash. I only got it for continuity's sake, but all of the elements of the play are seriously restricted or thrown out entirely. It is a sad excuse for a sequel to the previous three games.
If you haven't played BN2 yet, shame on you! (Just kidding, folks.) But seriously, it was the peak of the series. Fantastic chips, great folders, a relatively good story and a relatively challenging set of navis makes the game a treat.
Invest in BN2. You will NOT regret it. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! From Television City in Hollywood! It's time to 'Press Your Luck!'--Rod Roddy

I suggest you get Battle Network 2. As Midnight said, the entire plot was great, and the enemies were challenging. BN4 on the other hand, was simply a waste of money. BN2's simply a joy. _________________

To everybody who agrees with me on the BN2 thing:YOU GUYS RULE!!! Plus, the secret area(WWW Base) was fun. It did have good chips, and I thought it had the best music out of the series(Gospel's battle theme=good). I just have one complaint:Once I got my hands on the Gospel Chips, normal mode became way too easy. And there is one thing I think BN4 improved. The Undernet. I love that place in BN4. The music suits it perfectly, and it looks like the navi hell it should be. Aside from that, BN2 rules. Has anyone cleared hard mode yet? I'm in Netopia there. And I made it all the way without using the Darkness P.A.!!!
EDIT:In case your wondering, my friend traded me the Gospel chips and the other chips necessary for Darkness in hard mode. He claims he didn't use Gameshark, but the fact that he has 99 of every chip in every code doesn't really convince me. _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

If I were you, I'd go for MMBN2. It actually has tolerable music, considering I don't listen to techno or anything like that. I like the simple style changes, which are earned a lot easier than using that freaking customizer. It's longer than the first, but it's good enough to where you don't put it down until you've completely finished it - and by that I mean after you beat the final boss. The battle chips are also good. Some of the bosses are quite a challenge, so it's not as easy as the first game. I was not impressed with the third game, especially with this multi-version deal. As for the fourth, I've quit playing it and haven't even touched it for some time. Get MMBN2, you won't regret it. |

Hold on a sec, Battle network 4 was good too! It wasn't as good as the other ones but its still fun! You have to give it a chance if you haven't played it yet!
Heres what i think of the battle network games so far.
Battle network: Its pretty fun! The plot wasn't all that good but its got good music. :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: 3/5. (3 out of 5)
Battle network 2:THE BEST ONE YET!!!BUY IT!!! :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube:
5/5 stone cubes!! (5 out of 5)
Battle network 3: My second favorite BN game. I miss having 2 styles though.. I like the customizer too. :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: 4/5 stone cubes. (4 out of 5)
Battle network 4: You get to unite souls with other navis in this game! Such as Roll, Gutsman, Torchman, Searchman, Windman, and Thunderman! And thats just in Red sun version! Theres others in Blue moon. Like Protoman, Metalman, Junkman, Numberman, Woodman, and Aquaman.
You can also get tempted by dark chips at some point. I personally wish that this game followed the same plot as axess. I give this game
:stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: 3/5! (3 out of 5).
And don't forget Battle chip challenge! I have it. Its an okay game.
Since im a Megaman fanitic, i got every single BN game no matter what type of Graphics they might have. Or if the game has a stupid plot. And im going to buy BN5 and BN6 when they both come out. I cannot wait! :D _________________ *Join RMNSB!*

I'll suggest another game, BN5 is out very soon so I'd just wait on and get that. (Out on the 21st as far as I'm aware) |

I got the game because I'm a megaman fanatic, and even though I thought it was horrible to the point where I thought it was a bootleg, I still appreciate getting it because it made me love BN2 all the better. You are right, though, that the soul unisons and darkchips are good. Still, I keep my opinion. BUY BN2. IF YOU DON'T YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON ONE OF THE BEST ROCKMAN GAMES EVER. _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

Go with BN 2. There are a couple of reasons:
+BN 2 has a lot more chips, a lot more challenges, and fun to play.
+BN 4, sure they added Soul unison, but it lacks the ability to always start with it and you will get bored after a couple of times playing with that soul.
+In BN 2, you get to keep on challenging some navis until you S ranked them or whatever; in BN 4, you have to meet them in the net. (really frustrating.)
+If you buy BN 4, you have to face the "red sun or Blue moon" problem. In BN 2, you don't.
+since you already got BN, I remembered that you can transport chips between BN and BN 2; that way you can complete the game even further more.
+BN 2 is just better. Trust me, it is. The music, sprites, etc...BN 4 is just a sloppy make.
Or, you can always wait and buy BN 5, but I stll think that BN 2 >BN 5. _________________

well what exatly is the reason you don't like 4 i understand i check the dialog sucks the plot with the asteriod is weak the dark power is a good idea but its execution is a bit under done --plus i think actual chips instead of it coming up when your buts on the line--also the idea that you lost --health permanantly is a little much they need a way to get it back or atleast have a way to use the dark power with out the side effects-dark licence was what you use in 3 it might have worked
i coun't find a bn2 i decided to get 3 white and blue moon--because i got a huge discound--both were used only cost me 16 for blue 12 for white and i got a discout of 25% of white so ok
i see its pritty easy and the chips aren't what they were before and it lacks most of the challenge but for the price i payed its not too bad....i under the fustration factor having to play 3 consecutive times to get all the navi souls is probably pushing it also this 2 game verisons is to pokemon for me i like stand alone games---also a forte soul would have been nice
considering i like him
better than i like most of the others megamans equal in my personal likes but forte's style makes him much cooler the clock offsets the bat ears so he looks good and he has all those cool moves like earth breaker plus i want to fight him again--i beat forte gs with a fair amount of ease and the first one was no challenge after that so im looking for a stronger forte to fight---also the battle chip challenge one was NO CONTEST |

3 wasn't as good as 2, but it was still worth playing so that was a good choice, but as for buying 4? No offense, but that was a huge mistake, and a waste of money. If you want to find BN2, check Ebay. Or, go to www.ebgames.com. I bought my copy off the internet there. Oh, and start a new game once you get it because if you don't then you won't experience all of the game, and you'll miss out on some good stuff, plus, you'll be confused with certain parts of the plot.
Oh, and that little part about how much you like Forte and how you want to fight a harder version of him? I can agree, but it's a little off topic. Sorry if this qualifies as backseat modding. _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

That was taken straight from one of my earlier posts about BN4. I think that sums it up well. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Okay... two things. First of all, it's his money. He asked for advice of which to get next, and I'm sure he listened to everyone but in the end is HIS money, He decides what to get with it, and none of us are anyone to tell him what to spend his money on or if it's a waste what he's spent it on. Please avoid this kind of comments in the future. If you considered it a waste of your money that's fine, but he'll be the only one that can judge if his purchase was a waste of money or not.

Second, it's like the 3rd time you say 'sorry if this qualifies as backseat modding' Putting a band-aid before the cut is not going to excuse you. Now, he can easily make an off side comment as long as the comment doesn't divert the topic much away from the original instance. In any case, you don't 'agree with it' then tell him 'that's a bit off topic' then proceed to cover up with the 'sorry if this is back-seat modding'. Simply agree if you must and drive the topic back to its original theme. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.
