|

Ok this has been bugging me for awhile. In Stream its like the 2nd season of Axess. Same music,(alot of which is based off of the Axess theme which isn't even played anymore), same PETs in the first 2 episodes till they got new ones(and even now some minor characters still have those versions),flashbacks to Axess, refrences to Axess, the plot is even connected to Axess(Regal's attack at the end seems to be the main reason Duo wants to erase earth.)
Now look at Axess. None of the orginal .Exe music was ever used, there was almost no plot connection to .Exe, no refering back to .Exe which the exception of the return of some characters to explain how Netto knew them, no flashbacks ever shown except for one which was reanimated and even then had the PETs, wrong, and finally the original plug in PETs which weren't shown in the one flashback, and also weren't shown in the scene when Enzan was like 5, and in Stream when Jasmine was small for that matter. Its like they are hoping the audience will forget they ever existed.
So my question is why? Exe was great in my opinion. Why act like it never existed. Do the shows producers just not like it? Not satisfied with it? Is it not as marketable? Is there an answer?
(Oh and as a side note since it seems like a minor detail what exactly does Aquaman say when he does that spout move of his. I can't make it out. Doesn't sound like English or Japanese. Thanks!) |

Axess(Cracksess) and Stream(of urine) tried WAY to hard to relate to other kids' series in Japan, the Cross Fusion concept is blantantly ripped off from another Anime in fact. They pretend the original EXE doesn't exist because it would be hard on the writers(Like Axess or Stream even have a plot or something) You can easily compare Axess and Stream to silly little shows such as Johnny Bravo or "The Simpsons" The plots of each episode do not link up well enough to say there's an underlying plot(Honestly the only show I've ever seen do this was probably Futurama or dare I say it Dragonball/Z) _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

I'm not quite sure how you can compare Rockman to the Simpsons. O.o Zuh. I've actually felt there's been a lot of relevance to the old series. Characters evolve and grow, you can't expect the series to stay the same entirely throughout.
Rock's fear of ghosts, Netto's love of curry, Dekao's stubborness to defeat Netto, Chisao's adoration of Dekao, Gutsman's feelings for Roll, Pharoahman/Forte's ambition for power, Meijin's "-san wa iranai!", Rush's special ability....the list goes on, all came from the original EXE. These things obviously haven't been forgotten about in the later episodes.
Things have moved on from the original series, sure. The storyline turned a lot darker, and newer characters have taken the spotlight. I haven't been enjoying Stream nearly as much as Axess, mayhaps because of the massive amount of filler episodes. But as far as the characters go, I don't think much has been left out. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. I loved the first season, I'd get it all on dvd if an uncut version with subs existed.
The fact they ignore the previous season in terms of PETs and whatever. Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they're too lazy to fish out the old PET designs? In terms of music, I'm clueless about that as well. I liked the first season's music. If only Axess and Stream actually had a soundtrack besides the opening and ending song. |

I guess you have a point. All those character traits did carry over. It just always seemed like Axess was made so that anybody could just watch it from the start without watching Exe and feel as though they had missed out on watching it. ....Although that might have been what they aiming for all along I guess. Better ratings seems to be what its all about. Still Exe music was great for all situations. Axess's is just redundant. The real cool songs they have aren't used very often. Maybe the movie will have some cool tracks they will add to the show. I hope. |

I don't think they wanted to ignore the fact EXE existed, but is common in anime series that go on for a while that the beginning is left behind and few things make reference to the first seasons anymore. You can see it with DB, the first series is based mostly on adventures and exploration with some fights here and there. While DBZ evolved to a more action paked series with more personality/character developement then to 'adventures'.
I think the Reason Axess and Stream seem to be more related is because Axess and Stream are more closely connected -but not really following completely- to events in the games then EXE was. Axess bases its plot closely on EXE 4, while Stream picks up parts of EXE 4 to tie them with parts of EXE 5. I guess they did want to give some use to Duo as an important character -or his possible actions- instead of repeating the experience of Life Virus.
EXE was more 'light' hearted. With axess and stream running based a bit more closely in the newest games it does seem to leave behind that happy casual style to go into a much darker feel. It's past beyond the comical 4 criminals that cheat and play dirty to try to dominate the world for the sake of it. I don't think aside from Wily any of the WWW members had any real idea of what they were going to do if their plan succeeded. Even if we got to see an evil Roll. It was a serious threat that at the same time wasn't as serious.
I think Gospel began to add a darker feeling to the series and is probably why the series didn't end with the termination of that threat, but with a minor set-up for what was to come.
Music wise I have to say I like the music for Axess and Stream a lot more then EXE, and at the same time the music sort of defines the change of direction from the series doesn't mean they simply wanted to cut EXE off from existing, simply that the events from Axess aren't as tied to EXE the way Stream's background is tied to Axess. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Yeah I'd have to agree. But I've seen shows that are even bigger on the whole "mostly-filler" emphasis. (*coughnewTMNTcough*) I will admit that the story is a bit slow but then again, I would think of it harder for them to stretch out a story that involves 12 Crests of Duo (provided we're right about them going to EXE 5's team members) and still have Rockman obtain 9 new souls. I guess they had to make it run longer than the previous seasons and apparently that meant quite a bit of filler along the way. I will say this though: It better not be too long a season. I don't want to burn too much stuff to CDs. (Those things are expensive.) |

Also, Stream may be more similiar to AXESS because of its name. I remember someone on the old forum commenting on how the word "Stream" may be relavent to how it was DIRECTLY continuing from AXESS, like streaming something on your computer. |

Haziness is alot different from Darkness. EXE has always been as "dark" as Pokemon or Dragon Ball, they're not darker, they just fight more and talk less(which accounts for more "Death" and "gore) accept with Axess and Stream, the commercials are actually the show itself!
I turn your attention to Axess 33(or 36, I don't know...) Rockman had been badly damaged by Prisman in battle, and the only way to save him is the Advanced PET 2(Which is photorealistically shown on screen) and coincidentally the Battle chip gate(Also on screen).
Anyways I compared it to the simpsons because both series seem to forget the past of the plot line. Axess and Stream were barely planed at all, and it really shows that the producers aren't trying that hard(hence the constant switching from Animation company to ANimation company we see in Axess in Stream, but wasn't as prevelent in EXE). Even the makers of the game have turned on them(It's funny how the Anime scrambles randomly to compensate for something the game did) *Cough Napalmman, Shadowman* I bet EXE 6 will have Yamato Soul and Air Soul and we'll see them make a half-a$$ed plot to cover it XD _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

I doubt they'll make up plots just to cover for changes in the game. After all, Princess Pride was never an enemy in the Anime. Animation can't exactly "scramble" to match the game. They have so many episodes to do this, this, and this, so they have to plan things out fairly well. Since the base formula and programming for the game is done, they're able to make new games quickly (we're on the fifth one already?), but animating takes at least a LITTLE more time and effort. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

I think comparing Rockman to the Simpsons is not very good for one there is an actual theme to rockman episodes where as the first few minutes of the Simpsons is totally different from the end of it. I'm still a big fan of both |
