Worst and Best Weapon (Oringal Megaman)

I was thinking what are some of the best and worst weapons in the magaman games.

Here's what I think
Best: Metal Blade (Megaman.... 2???)
Man that thing was the best. Huge number of thoes things, you could aim them in any direction, and they could take out quite a few enemies with ease.

Pharo Wave (The power battles 2)
Man this thing is sweet. It shoots both ways so it hits your oppent most of the time. I just love this thing

Worst: Sakugarne (That pogo stick/jack hammer thing you get from quint in that gameboy game)
That thing was utterly useless to me. It was harder to hit things because I had to get right above them.

Napalm Bomb (The power battles 1 or 2)
The thing I didn't like about this thing was that it hardly ever hit the oppent. That's about it really

Keeping in mind I have played relatively few Classic games...

Best: Thunder Bolt (or Claw or....something) from Cloudman in MM7. Multi-directional, plus good for taking out rabid pumpkin machines or operating lifts and magnets.

Worst: Top Spin from Topman in MM3. Or 5. Something. I could never get that thing to work, and I usually wound up spinning myself right off the nearest cliff edge ^^;

And I know it wasn't part of the question, but a couple of my favorite weapons are Slash Claw and Rolling Cutter (but hey, I'm a big fan of Slashman and Cutman xD) and one of my least favorites is Junk Shield. I couldn't really get that one to work either, I always fired it off too early, or brought it up too late ^^;;...

Crush Noise
I like this weapon. It's fun to screw around with, but not phenomenal. 3/7 stone cubes :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube:

Junk Shield
It's like leaf shield, but better. 4/7 stone cubes :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube: :stonecube:

Pharoah Wave

WORST:

Crash Bomb
I couldn't hit crap with this thing. 1/100 Guardians -.-

Top Spin
The most useless weapon ever. 0/100 Guardians

Bubble Lead
It's a fricken' bubble, people. 3/100 Guardians -.- -.- -.-

Water Balloon
It's just a normal shot but water element. No real flaws. 12/100 Guardians -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.- -.-

Plant Shield
It's just copying Woodman. No point. 3/100 Guardians. -.- -.- -.-

Best:
Astro Crush. Destroy them all!
Shield types. Those would be Junkman's, Skullman's, Woodman's, etc. Weak ones can't touch you that easily.

Worst:
Top Spin. You need to move real close.
Gutsman's attack. Uuseless if you have no ammo, that is, those gaint stone cubes.

Note to those saying Top Spin is the worst weapon: I can't agree that an attack which kills the final boss in one hit is bad. :P

Best: Metal Blade - Being able to aim was good enough, but the damn things take up almost NO weapon energy, so you never really needed to worry about running out. They were effective against nearly everything in the game, and took out Metalman in one hit.

Worst: Yamato Spear - It fires straight ahead and is smaller than a charged Rockbuster shot. How original.

Close behind is Skull Barrier, easily the weakest in the shield weapons series.

The Best weapon ever in Megaman/rockman, is the Metal Blade, PERIOD.
there is no doubt, as the number of bosses it is good against is a number higher than any other weapon in RM history.

personally I LOVE the Pharaoh Shot, when charging, and hitting something with the orb, and pressing start/exitting screen, it reforms, thus endless use, without depletion of WE, BEAUTIFULL, plus Pharaohman is just plain godlike...

sucky weapons are very present too, Topspin, Leafshield, POWER STONE
and alike...the perfect balance is hard to find in any game, though if I had to choose any rm game, I'd choose X1, because it has a good selection, and Chameleon, wich owns all, even though it is not a classic, it is as a matter of fact a 'Classic' by the means of it's almost unequaled greatness..

Metal Blade is easily the best weapon. You can aim it, it does a good amount of damage to pretty much everything, and it uses hardly any energy.

Gravity Hold isn't a great weapon against the Robot Masters, but it was a lot of fun to use against stage enemies, especially those little hovering cylindrical things. Nothing like watching them flip over and fly offscreen. Smile

Top Spin gets my vote as well for worst weapon. It was a pain in the butt to get to work properly, and there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the amount of damage it would do. One time it'd take out a huge chunk of an RM's life meter, and on the next attack it would only knock out a bar or two.

Okay, we all get the point:Metal Blade rocks. By the way, I forgot to add that I absolutely HATE Dustman's weapon. I found it completely useless. 1/100 Guardians -.- I also forgot to mention that Grenademan's weapon is awesome, right up there with Astro Crush, Flame Sword, and Pharoah Wave. Oh I liked Burning Wheel(Turboman) as well. I'm not sure why. I just find myself using it alot.

Although I like Metal Blade, Astro Crush was the move that saved me in the Wily Level with the jet board. I also like Crash Bombs, Gemini Laser...and Rock Ball.

I think the worst has got to be....uh...Yamato Spear. It was okay...but the only good thing was the SLIGHT arc of the shot.

I agree, Metal Blade was THE best, no robot master was immune to it and it just kicked massive arse.

Second would be Leaf Shield from Woodman, not only did it form a barrier but it also shot out like a weapon, so it has 2 uses!

And the Top Spin....destroying a huge robot with one shot is not too shabby...

As for the worst.....

ALL of the Megaman 6 weapons were useless and moronic copies of all the weapons from the previous games.

Centaur flash = dumb copy of Flashman's weapon
Yamato spear = weaker than one shot from the Mega buster
Blizzardman's weapon...uh yeah, snowflakes, how scary
Flameman's weapon...cheap, cheap, CHEAP imitation of Heatman's weapon

...well ok, Tomahawkman's and Knightman's weapons were somewhat ok....

Oh I've got to say that I loved Terra's weapon from MM5 (GB Verson) It's... chase laser or something like that. Anyhoo I loved it. It just keeps hitting the enemy over and over again.

Also I just hatted Mars weapon. It stays there for a few minutes then when the enemy is long gone it shoots off.

Best Weapon: Top Spin
Worst: the original Power Arm. You always need rock cubes in order to use this weapon, and when you fight a boss there's generally just two rock cubes at your disposal.(generally two is all you need, but still)

The one for PF2 was a lot more improved. Plus, it actually turned out to be a weapon that hurt the bosses most.

The weapon you get from Bright man to stop time is one of the coolest to me or at least the coolest one i can think of at the moment.

Let's not forget the weapons from MegaMan & Bass. The Remote Mine was a pretty clever weapon... though I wouldn't say I favor it... simply because I'm really bad at using it. But I honestly can't think of a "favorite" or "least favorite" weapon... I just started using weapons when I play MM games. (I preferred to take things down with my buster most of the time... it felt more rewarding.)

As for myself, i don't have such thing as best and worst weapon, since it's usefulness depends on the game where they're given.
But if i *really* had to choose, they would be:

"Good" ones:
-Metal Blade (RM2) (Pretty much everything you said in this topic applies.)
-Junk Shield (RM7) (Good damage, can spread in multiple directions. Nice.)
-Flash Stopper (RM4) (Much better than Time Stopper, since you can shoot while it's active and doesn't consume ALL your weapon energy...)
-Tornado Hold (RM8) (I like how this weapon works on weaker enemies. Gotta love the multiple strikes :D )
...

"Bad" ones:
-Time Stopper (RM2) (You can't shoot at all, some enemies are immune and *can* still hurt you, and you can't stop it; "useful" with Quickman...)
-Gemini Laser (RM3) (Dunno. It's just that i don't like this one, since it's hard to aim correctly...)
-Flame Blast (RM6) (Frankly, there're better fire-based weapons out there...)

I remember being able to cancel Time Stopper by opening up the weapons menu and changing it.

Or was that only in the X series?

I think you're referring to Dark Hold in X5, similar to Time Stopper, but slightly better (you can change it whenever you want, and you can still shoot with the X-buster/Z-Saber)...
