It seems that I'm seeing alot more of the original Pokemon at my school. I know people still like PokeMon, but the big boom of it went out in 1999. So has anyone else noticed a rise of PokeMon games at there school? _________________

I have seen this too. Although PokeMon is quite old by now, it is clearly on a resurgence.
Perhaps it is because PokeMon was one of the foremost games of its kind in the day, and well, it's just plain fun to play. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I'm actually an avid pokemon player. For one it's not actually ment for kids anymore. The design is ment to focus more toward adolescents. There's also a whole mathematics base behind it. What I am surprised about is that you'd make a thread about this. Pokemon still has it's boom, the merchandising is just not ALL there. It's more like a small fire cracker now. There are still DVDs, Card Leauges, And the like...What I don't like is that our 'champion' is a uncool 20 year old man that used nothing but 00bers...Such is the reason why I've bought 3 different Gen 3 games. The next time there's a tournament, I'll kick so much arse.
The show has been going good to, recently. Maybe it's because James is acting more noble now.
I reccomend everyone pick up at least one game, perferably Fire Red or Leaf Green, and you'll see how good these games really are. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

Actually, I love Pokemon, still. Although I don't watch the TV show, collect the cards, or buy the toys anymore, I'll gladly play the games. Hell, I even brought Pokemon Sapphire with me to school for 5 months. Everyone hates me and my Deoxys ^^' _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

Fire Red and Leaf Green were kind of dissapointing(good sprites to use as bases though*cough*sig*cough*). I knew what to expect everywhere throughout the normal game, then that extra stuff took me a really short time to clear... I dunno, maybe I shoulda looked into that other extra stuff that you needed to do special things outside of the game to get, but meh. I hate that stuff.
Pokemon, contrary to popular belief, isn't dead, and really never was. I mean yeah, you don't walk into any store and see Pokemon cards, pokemon toys, pokemon underwear, and all sorts of other promotional crap, but it's still largely popular. Particularly with littler kids. Geez, my little sister has developed this sickeningly annoying habit of running around saying "Pika! Pika!". It's here to stay. At least, it's not going anywhere in the forseeable future. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Yeesh... and now they finally get the customization of a team...

Speaking of Pokemon, What is PokeMon Green. I've only just heard about it.
And plus after Gold-Crystal, Don't they just stay in The Johto and Origanal area? _________________

I believe in Japan there were Red and Green Versions instead of Red and Blue. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Yeah it was red and green but blue was better. They did release blue there as a mail-in order. |

Nah... it didn't ever actually completely die over here
Even though it definately is less popular, it's still not too hard to find people who play it and there's a lot less Pokemon bashing than you'd think... |

In japan there was a red and green, each with certain pokemon locations, ect. ect. Then they made Pokemon Blue which was an update, better sprites and other things and updated pokemon locations.
Us in the USA got Pokemon Red and Blue which were Pokemon Red and Green respectively, with Japanese Pokemon Blue graphics, and a revamped Uknown Dungeon.
In Japan, Pokemon Blue was a base from the US version of games with the same revamped graphics and unknown dungeon. Also certain pokemon got changed around. (Dittos in Rock Tunnel, Lukitung in the wild)
As you know, Yellow was kinda' a revamped Japanese Blue, in a way... _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

Silver, Gold, and Crystal remained in the Johto area, and there were about 253 PokeMon then.
With the advent of the new games, there is a whole new region--Hoenn, and the number of species increases accordingly. The number 387 pops into my head for some reason... _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Fire Red and Leaf Green are excellent games, easily better than others of the series. I'm really looking forward to the next pair of games, as well as the Gamecube RPG. It's a bit dissapointing that they decided to keep the Snagging concept from Colloseum, though. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

as far as the new gamecube pokemon game goes im looking forward to it. mainly because i won't need those special tickets to capture lugia. Also I'm a rather big fan of the stealing pokemon from the other trainers. too bad its only the ones with the dark auras. |

I suppose it's questionable...
but IMO both of them added at least something fairly large to the game, as well as alter the story and put in some new areas.
Crystal had the pokemon animations and the small Suikune storyline, which Emerald has the Battle Park, which adds quite a lot of new gameplay options. |

I like PKMN... Nobody liked it around school here in Florida, but I still like it.Me and my friend Yelsha online on MSN Messenger will actually do a few PKMN based RPs with me sometimes. Though, we usually do Rockman stuff, and midevial (sp..? ><) crud. Quite fun, it is. Anyway... I'm still wanting to get Emerald. Mom is broke, you could say... We only have enough to pay bills and feed ourselves right now. (My dad doesn't live with us anymore.) _________________ If you like Wild ARMs, go to my DeviantArt to see a whole bunch of artwork on the series.

The games are pretty popular around my school, but the anime's sort of hated here. It seems that new Pokemon games are always released. There's one for Gameboy (all versions), Game Cube, and Nintendo DS. I'm not sure if there's any for PS2, though. _________________

Anybody know where you can get a Jirachi? That's the only Pokemon I need before my Pokedex is complete! (someone puts a kick me sign on my back). _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

The pre-order disk that was given out with reservations of Pokémon Colosseum has "Special Gift: Jirachi!". You can only download him onto Ruby or Sapphire, though, and from there trade him to another game. But you can only download him once to a game, then I believe if you want one for that copy if you trade him, you have to restart that carts game.
I thought Pokémon had died out a bit in NY, especially after the loss of the Pokémon Center(which is now a wall in the Nintendo Store), but when Emerald came out, I've never seen so many people ask for it. Very few have been traded in as well..
It's actually surprising to see 17 year old guys come in and ask for it, and get all excited when they get to buy it.. XD
Had I still been in school with the newest release, I'm sure people would have been playing it on campus. Then again, maybe not... Everyone flipped out when I had my DS on campus once... Hm.. _________________
