Does everything in the EXE world have plugs? I mean, they have them for traffic lights, ovens... doesn't this strike anyone as odd? _________________ "Itsumo... saigo wa... hitori da." ~ Sailor Jupiter

First of all, not everything has a Navi-compatible computer system.
Second of all, RM.EXE takes place in a futuristic version of our world, and currently, there is plenty of R&D being done about the most effective and convinient ways to conenct everything. Like being able to put food into a refridgerated oven in the morning for a quick meal in the evening and being able to turn it on with your cellphone if you're running late.
Lastly, what kind of game would it be if only a handfull of things would be Navi-compatible? |

They also specifically talk about how practically everything is connected to the internet in the first game. |

Everything is conncected to the net as it's needed for the plot. A simple desk lam may not need to have a cyberworld in it, but as soon as Flashman needs to go into it and make the light shine brighter, it turns out it's a high-tech lamp connected to the internet and everything.
Similarily, the amount of jack-in ports a device has is directly proportional to the amount of characters that need to be jacked into it at the same time.

They don't HAVE to be connected to the net. The device just needs its own hard drive or some temporary memory chip(s) for a Navi to access. Why do you think there were so many different items with the same cyberworld map.
Nitpicking: And how is this an odd "discovery?" _________________ Net navis are like imaginary friends. The only difference is that you don't get weird looks for talking to them. |

Never really gave it much thought, I mean, knowing it was set in the future and all, and look at all the crap we can do with the internet today, after all, when it first came out, pretty much all you would do with it was access websites... full of text, not pictures whatsoever, and now, we can play RPG's with come kid from China all the way from the US, or some Canadian kid can play net games with a Japanese kid, or someone in Peru can send random spam to some guy in Britain, etc. etc., so, who's to say the internet of the future won't be all that different than the one of EXE? |
