Well, even if you did all the footages yourself and someone blames you for theft because it looks extremely similar to someone else's, you can always just take a screenshot of your WMM project file and show it to clear yourself up.

I believe you guys should add a rule towards songs in AMVs <.< you know, some annoying people keep asking the AMV creators where to get the used songs... perhaps prohibiting this might decrease the amount of people constantly pestering AMV authors about it.

...I fully agree with Mari on this one. I popped off at someone in my Zips thread because they were like the 20th person to ask for the song ._.; I think it makes them sound like they only watch the AMV for the song, as opposed to the video itself. Plus, isn't that a form of requesting in itself?

For Rule 2, I think a better idea for confineing space is that you confine all to one thread, except if you say make one then a month later you make a new AMV, cause I get the feeling people that continualy post AMV's will make a new thread at the end of each month, regardless of if they post AMV's constantly or if they've posted one a month ago

what do we do if our names are too long are we allowed to abbreviate? like for my name i'd have to put MH17

N2O: 8) Media can be from any anime or video game - but please no live action stuff (such as LA Sailormoon, Star Trek, Buffy, whatever). There are other forums for that kind of stuff.

And I'm not sure what you mean by the second question. Do you mean that if you use a clip cut similarly to someone else's? Don't worry about that, we'll know whether or not you stole it or made it yourself. ^_^

I have a question regarding stolen clips.

I like to make AMVs, but I can't because I lack source material. You know, videos. What if I (and everyone else in my predicament) got permission to use clips from someone's video?

I have yet to have to resort to stealing from vids (I'm very lucky that Kindgom Hearts has a lot of trailers/gameplay vids) but my source shortage is very irking. Therefore, an answer to this question would be greatly appreciated.

Oi... at 0214 I get annoyingly formal... ^^;;

Well, I am sure in order to do that, you must be in a pretty good relationship with the person who did the AMV. So why not just ask the person to give you that part of the clip? If it's in an episode, ask him/her to import it into WMM, edit out all the parts you don't want, and save it and give it to you. The reason why they don't allow stealing clips in any sort is because that there will be too much confusion and discussion and stuff. So, I best recommend not to. You can always get clips from me if you want. I have plenty of episodes and will be happy enough to cut out parts for you.

I think this is going to sound stupid, but I must ask anyway since it was not covered in the rules here and I think it qualifies as multimedia... of sorts.

What about lyrics on the site? Would that go here? Such as; for example; Doobee Doowap Communication. The lyrics (transliteration/romanization) on your site are only for the TV-Length version, not the full song. As you may have seen on SA, I did romanize the whole song from a scan of the lyrics Jyo-chan sent me over AIM. If I wanted to share that work here, or a possible translation later (insane as that song is. x_@) would that be allowed to be posted on the forums and if so, is the Multimedia forum the correct choice?

It's not the right definition of 'art' as applies to that forum, so it's not proper for fanart...

It's not a fiction, so it's not proper for fanfiction.

Since it's lyrics for a song, it seems to qualify under multimedia, but I see nothing about it and before I would post something like that, I'd like to make sure it's not breaking a rule I didn't see or cannot find.

I want to share my work, contribute, and get some help to continue past what I've done, (translating if anyone's willing to undertake that insane project with me. XD) but I won't if any of this is not allowed here.

Well, Multimedia does mean something we can listen and watch with our eyes and ears, and well, lyrics is simply...lyrics, not really multimedia, since it does not have music or videos, just simply music's..lyrics. I think it fits in the anime & manga section of Rockman.EXE, but best wait for a mod or admin to clear it up.

How we're not allowed to steal vids from others, are we allowed to make our own vids similar to anther one's? If you remember those GI Joe dubbed videos, what if someone found a different cartoon and dubbed it, kinda like how that guy did to GI Joe?

Another question: I'm kinda new to Windows Movie Maker. Is it possible to make videos that will play on your DVD player in your living room?
