Sorry if I spelled it worng. Anyhoo I just saw the dubbed verson of this anime on adult swim. It's quite funny in some parts but I must ask.... what's up with all the scrach DJ stuff??? Seems kinda lame to me but... I don't know.

What did you think of it???

I could tell you many other words you spelt wrong, but I'll just start with Champloo. Razz

I've haven't seen it, but I've heard about it. Would you give me a summary or something?

"Mugen is a fierce animal-like warrior with a unique Bboying (break-dance) inspired fighting style. Jin has a more traditional style but don’t think of this as a weakness because his skills are amazing. The two contrasting samurai warriors are far from friends, yet their separate paths seem to cross anyways. Mugen is wandering aimlessly through the city when he stumbles upon a teahouse where he meets Jin and Fuu (A ditzy waitress, but don‘t think she doesn‘t have anything hidden up her sleeves). Fuu convinces them both to come with her in search of a mysterious samurai that smells like sunflowers and their journey begins. This modernized hip-hop tale breaks the barriers of the common, historical, samurai anime."

Don't let this fool you though. This series is truely awesome. (Btw, you spelt Champloo right.) It is action oriented, but it has great humorous moments (In one episode, they have a beat-boxing samurai XD)

The scene transitions (The DJ scratching) only happen in episode 1. They never happen again, as far as I know (Which is only to episode 4 >.>). I need to buy the other two DVDs <.<;. It's awesome so far =P. Now I want the manga : o.

I hadn't relized till last week that the anime was coming to Adult Swim. I had only originally seen episode 1 and episode (21 or 22), because well, I don't like to download anime that much.

The dubbed turned out better than I thought it might.

The scratch stuff is toned down later on.
Not really too fond of the first part (Episodes 1-1Cool of the series, but the secont part of it has some very good episodes (as well as some very, very, very messed up but equally entertaining filler Razz).

I liked it. One of the few dubbed anime that I sat through without fiddling with my Progress PET or GBA.

Watching it made me wanna play Way of the Samurai for PS2, just to use the sword that gives you breakdancing moves... :puku:

It's taking Fullmetal Alchemist's time slot for now at 11:30. That's the only thing I don't like about the show. But oh well FMA will come back sooner or later

It would have been much better if it took Futurama's time slot at 11:00, Futurama coming on inbetween One Piece and Samurai Champloo doesn't seem to fit.

About every Geneon and BanDai anime ever made >.>;. He's Spike's voice actor on Cowboy Bebop.

In Samurai Champloo, he goes by the name Daniel Andrews. He's done much more under the name Steven Jay Blum, though. He sometimes goes under the name "David Lucas", too o.O;.

All he's done

To the two above, it is Mugen and Jin, not Muken and Jean (Although Jean sounds like a good dub name.)

Lol, I can't wait until they get to episode 9. That beat boxing guy is funny. (Also a tidbit, the Japanese VA for the main guy in that episode was voiced by Spike's Japanese VA.)

Heh, yeah he does that so he can cheat the system. Union actors aren't allowed to work on non-union jobs which is what the majority of anime dubbing is. I'm not even sure if Steven Jay Blum is his real name. I swear he and David Hayter are the same guy but can't find proof anywhere.

I like the music in the anime. I like how it adds a bit of funk and current trends of music here as well as adds a bit of japanese spice. I think that it is weird how that one guy fights like he break dances. It seems to add in japanese spice to american-ize umm.. *can't think of the word* it twists Japan with America. *closest she can think of* _._
