Fanfic Idea

Okay, this might sound stupid but I was wondering if there could be some way to have maybe a sub-board or something where fanfic authors can place their finished work.

I mean, you spend a good (I'm my experiance anyway) half year, to a year finishing a fanfic and when it's done you just watch it get shoved back. And quickly too, becuase the fanfic board is growing like no tomorrow.

I'm sure there can be rules about one shots and stuff but I just wanted to place the idea out there. I'm not sure if this is even possible but I just thought it would be a nice idea for people who write long fanfics that they would like to have read in it's entirety after its done.

I know my favorite way of reading a fanfic is one that says *compleated* because you know you can finish the story without fear of the author dropping it.

Well, the whole sub-board idea was already suggested... and someone didn't like it, or something.

It is a good idea, though. Let's see what the rest of the guys say.

I don't visit that FanFiction forum much, so forgive my ignorance, but... can't you just put it up on Fanfiction.net or some other similar site?

I think this is a great idea, considering i have at least 11 completed fanfics. Plus, I hate having to post a few chapters every once in awhile, even if it does make it easier to critique. But, I don't have a position of power so I can't really decide on this (No disrespect towards mods, admins, and Ryouko intended.)

There's only one problem with that, though. If someone attacks the forum again, some people will permenantly lose their fanfics because they feel that this is a hoster for their fics. Plus, it takes up space :/

There's another option that doesn't that that much room, but will require some hunting down from the Mods and the users themselves. A sticky thread that'd list links to all finished fanfics of X author. Something like this for example:

Author: Mari

Fanfic # 1 here <--- title is a link to the thread the finished fic is at
Fanfic # 2 here <---- see above.

But we'd do this with say... Users that'd especifically asked for it. They'd be in charge of PMing us Fanfic mods with the link to the finished story -within the board- So we can just put it up. That way only people REALLY interested on this would receive this benefit, and it shouldn't really occupy any more room and is pretty organized within the limitations.

Edit: Just to make it a bit more clear, it would beonly one topic for all authors and would act as a list. It would be easier to keep with and would take very little room.

Oers, I like Planty's idea.

I just thought it'd be nice to have some way for the authors that finish their stuff to show it off.
