Rumour has it that's how Rockman&Forte came to be.
We can't really comment on your game unless you give us something to comment on though. Otherwise this topic is pretty pointless. |

Capcom doesn't tend to accept fan ideas due to legal reasons, except when those ideas come in via contest they themselves are holding. (And even then, it seems like that generally occurs in Japan) _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\

Smilies spam, yum.
I wasn't attempting to crush your spirit, merely informing you that Capcom won't accept the game. It's just the way they do things. *shrug* But you're right, that's probably my fault. ^_~ _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\

PlaguedOne's just being honest with you. Would you rather he give you the honest truth now, or wait until you send the idea to Capcom and they turn you down flat?
Don't let something like Capcom's policies let you get in the way of your ambitions. If you can't send a game to them for them to make, make it yourself, and reap all the credit! Just because you can't make the game official doesn't mean you still can't make it. Just make sure you give proper credit to Capcom for the characters and such so you don't get in trouble for copyright issues, and you'll be fine. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Although a fan-game would be nice, I think it's worth pointing out that it's not going to happen. SPDBlue doesn't seem to be the type of guy seriously capable of this task.
See this thread: http://www.kishuku.com/reo/viewtopic.php?t=372
Although stealing a sprite isn't directly an indication of his ability to make a game, it's at least an indication of his laziness, and in my opinion, anyone who can't dedicate the time to make one single sprite on their own couldn't possibly make a game like the one he's describing, especially since these games tend to require lots and lots of sprites.
I'm guessing this guy doesn't even have any progress in this game at all. What he's described is just a pipe-dream and he can't live up to its realization. Happens all the time.
In other words, I wouldn't bother giving him any words of encouragement any more. They're just being wasted. |

Just what it says, a program that you can share with others. Most of the time a shareware program is like a demo, you can use it for so long and then you either have to either delete it or buy it.
I think what he meant is FreeWare. (If you can't figure that one out...)
SPDBlue, I hope you realize the true amount of work that goes into games. I've messed around with the concept, so I know what I'm talking about. The sheer number of sprites and animations you have to due is mind-boggling. Couple that with the massive amount of programming you have to do for a BN-style game, and it becomes clear that a fan game requires a lot of dedication and patience. _________________

It's not dissapointing, really. It just shows that most of you guys actually believe that SPDBlue can and is going to make his won game. I mean, come on, people! He cant even make his own sprite for god's sake! And most of you guys believed him when he said he was going to make his own game? Hell, it takes a crapload of time to make a mod for an existing game, much less make an enitre new game. Just talk to any well-established game maker over on NewGrounds. It takes them months to make a good 2-D shooter or mini-golf game, much less a whole RPG, which usually takes 6-18 months of tireless labor to make... Come on now guys, use logic...Could someone who uses, on average, 10 Emoticons per post and uses 1337-speak most of the time acutally make a decent RPG with his own, original sprites? I dont think so. _________________
