|
|
We all know who it is.
The final boss of Metroid 1/ZM & 3, the evil mastermind behind it all, the leader of the space pirates...or is it?
I've been doing some research, finding interesting bits about it.
But the main revelation comes from the e-manga.
In it we see that Ridley was the main commander of the pirates (or, at least, a highly-ranked pirate), and Mother Brain was, in fact, created (?) by the Chozos to serve them in Zebes...
But my main concern is, if that's true, then why did MB joined the pirates and betrayed it's own creators?
That's something i didn't quite understand...
Does anyone here know? _________________ Rafflesian's biggest fan! :D |

Because Manga stories and Game stories don't always follow the same plotline?
I'd think that if Mother Brain did infact turn on its creators it would most likely be because it became so powerful that it felt it didn't need the Chozo... Just like the pirates it probably had a desire for power. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

I've heard that Ridley is the leader of the pirates while the Mother Brain is more of a master CPU. What I think is possible though is that the Mother Brain is generally seen as just an object used to run the planet and make things run efficiently for the pirates but in reality it's really the mastermind behind everything the space pirates do. |

To be honest. Space pirates seems more like a generalization to me. Who said space pirates were limited to Mother Brain's rule or those little green (sometimes red) humanoids with carapaces(eses)? They're pirates for God's sake! I'd say Mother Brain was the leader of a particularly threatening group of space pirates rather than every single pirate. Heck. I might as well throw in the "just following orders" bit while I'm at it.
... I just remember the whole "keeping metroids as pets" (resulting in a reduction in pay/rations and crappier jobs) fiasco. _________________ Net navis are like imaginary friends. The only difference is that you don't get weird looks for talking to them. |

Well, it's been awhile since I played either Metroid or Zero Mission, but the question of Space Pirate leadership is vaugely answered in Prime and Prime 2. In various Pirate Logs, the pirates refer to a High Command that apparently runs their civilization/orginaization. While there is little mention of Mother Brain, Ridley is mentioned as being of special signifigance to the Pirates, though they don't specify whether he's a pirate or a weapon that the just use. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover
