Isn't that what you would want in a dub?

Has anyone else noticed they didn't change the opening in the dub? If you listen to the dub and sub openings, they're exactly the same except for without subtitles.

Just because the show is Japanese doesn't mean the songs have to be in Japanese... Why would they change it, anyway =\?

The Opening to Samurai Champloo was sung in English in Japan and here in the States, always has Razz, just some wacked out rapping LOL that makes sense to some one I just understand the "Some days, some nights, some live, some die, in the way of the samurai" Razz

I kind of like the song (It's sung by Japanese people, btw.) Took some time to get used to it though.

BATTLECRY (TV Version)
Sharp like an edge of a samurai sword.
The metal blade cuts through flesh and bone.
Though, my mind's at peace, the world's outta order.
Missing the inner heat, life gets colder.
Oh yes, I have to find my path.
No less, walk on earth, water, and fire.
The elements compose a magnum opus.
My modus operandi is amalgam.
Steel packed tight in microchip om my arm is a sign of all pro.
The ultimate reward is honor, not awards
At odds with the times in wars with no lords.
A freelancer.
A battlecry of a hawk make the dove fly and the tear dry.
Wonder why a lone wolf don't run with the klan.
Only trust instincts and be one with the plan.
Some days, some nights.
Some live, some die, in the way of the samurai.
Some fight, some bleed.
Sun up, sun down.
Some days, some nights.
Some live, some die, in the name of the samurai.
Some fight, some bleed.
Sun up, sun down.
The sons of a battlecry.
A battlecry.

For some reason, I like Samurai Champloo's early, scratchy feel. There's something very rough and unrefined about the main character, or the series in general. It has a rather "hip and slightly rebellious urban warrior" aura about it, something along the lines of Kill Bill or Cowboy Bebop. I don't know if the quotes mentioned already were intended to be funny, but I find them almost hilarious. Someday FMA will take back its time slot, but then again, I've seen most of the FMA episodes that CN is airing, so for now, long live Champloo :]
