(Note before I begin: FORGET EVERYTHING YOU READ FROM MY LAST FANFIC! IT SUCKED! I HAVE DISCONTINUED IT! THIS IS A NEW STORY! The regular characters will be in this fic, but it will be a lot different than before. I could not finish my last fic, the storyline was too vague, and just didn't work out the way I thought it would. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this, and, like usual, if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.)
And, to the admins, please delete "Omicron - Warrior of Destiny", my first fanfic. It should be on the last page.

Episode I, Chapter 1 - Retribution
“Nngh… where am I… ?”
It’s dark. I look around. I can’t pick myself off of the floor for some reason; I guess I don’t have enough energy. I feel pain. But, it’s not any ordinary pain. It’s emotional pain. I feel alone, for the first time since my installation. I feel a sadness overwhelm me, a sadness that can’t be filled.
I realize that it was my fault. I wasn’t there… for him… I couldn’t save him. Tears roll down my face. I just had to protect my freakin’ hide, didn’t I? After all, that was in my programming, wasn’t it? To keep alive? I just wish there was some way to transcend my programming. I wasn’t strong enough, and now my net-op is gone. Like that. In seconds.
I look back to what happened. I remember it… it was short, but I remember it. He was so loving. He loved me when others did not. So, when he got trapped in that dimensional whatever-it’s-called, I had to be there for him. I telelported out of my PET but wound up some ways away from Alex. But, some navi… I don’t know, he just came out of nowhere. I ran. I don’t know how fast I ran, I just remember running. Running towards Alex. However, something came over me. A fear of sorts. I couldn’t shake it. It instead shook me. I fell, to my knees. I couldn’t move.
Then, it happened. One simple stab. The navi did it. I wasn’t there. I should have stopped him. I couldn’t. I could not move from my position. Something teleported me to a part of the net; I think my security system probably did that. I looked back through the visual feed. He coughed blood. He fell forward onto the blade. He… died.
I cried. I don’t know how long I cried, I just don’t remember stopping. No one else was in this area of the net, not even viruses. Which I am glad for; I never cried. I was heralded as a strong navi, able to take down any virus or enemy, and here I was. I failed to save my net-op, and now I cried. I couldn’t stop.
Why… Why did he have to die… ? I think after thinking that, I managed to pass out.
I now try again, to push off the ground. For some reason, I succeed. Maybe waiting a little bit did the trick. I try to connect the visual feed. No luck. I try pinging my PET’s IP address. Nothing. The PET either was away from a Wi-Fi point, or the battery died. I tried to recognize the area around me. It was very dark, hard to see. I look some more.
A little ways down this pathway, I see some sort of gray fang. I look at it, trying to examine it, but it wasn’t much, just a 3D image file. No data on it.
I’m lost.
I guess for now I’ll just walk this pathway for now. I just pray to God that I can find the exit to this area. I want to be home. Even though he’s gone, it seems like I still have a home. Maybe the connection to my PET is up? I try to jack out. Nope, doesn’t work either.
I hope I find someone soon. I hate this… feeling of loneliness…

You'll see who the character is. Yes, I will be posting more chapters. And, also, you'll find out about the truth behind my character. I'm gonna keep working on this, but thanks for the comment. I didn't expect someone to like it.
Update: Please excuse the delay on chapter 2. I had a serious computer crash, and, well, it's going to be a few days until the next chapter, on top of all the days I already missed because of this crash.
I hate my laptop. |

Sorry guys, I know this is considered double-posting, but if I didn't no one would realize that a new chapter was out. This won't happen again. Go ahead and take 1 off of my postcount if you want; I don't care abouut the counts anyways.
So, without further delay, here's chapter 2.

Episode I Chapter II
Rebirth
*sigh* Still no sign of where I am. It's been an hour now, following this path. I know that I'm somewhere, on the net, otherwise data such as the fang hologram I came across.
I continue to walk along. No end in sight, no known path. I continue to follow what seems to be a maze of paths. I wonder if I will ever see a light not generated by me. I wonder how long this darkness will endure.
But, yet, I still walk on. For what reason, I do not know. Maybe it's an instinct. The drive to keep living; the one that logged me out of that dimensional thing when he died. Maybe it will show me the way. Maybe God will show me the way. Maybe I'm just delirious.
I continue to ponder these things, until, in the sky, I see a glimpse of light.
Thoughts swirl through my head. Is this the exit? Am I just seeing things? Have I been deleted, and have gone to some sort of afterlife? Is afterlife even possible with data programs?
I decide to pursue it. I don't know if this will be the path out, but I am going to follow it anyways. I have no one anymore. No mission, no objective. Except to find out who killed Alex.
I am leaving this text file for anyone who ever reads it. In a desolate place such as this, however, I doubt anyone will. But, if anyone ever winds up here, and feels alone, without anyone, just remember this: you're not. I know this seems kind of silly leaving a note like this here, but I don't want others to go through the hell I have gone through. No one should have to bear the pain of isolation and loneliness like I am.
And, if you ever find a fragment of data belonging to Omicron.EXE, don't be afraid. By reading this, you already know the dangers of this area. Be prepared for anything; not even I know what will happen down here.
May God bless you, and may you find the light, as I have.
-Omicron
________________________________________________________________
Omicron left the note on the ground, seeing as there was no other place to put the note.
"There. Now, I guess I should disguise myself. No use getting killed because someone recognizes me. PYRO STYLE, ACTIVATE!"
Omicron's body glowed more than its usual light. His wavy, brown hair was tied up by a headband that went around it. The ends of the headband extended out. His body changed from a glowing white to a non-glowing orange and white, and his right arm transformed into a fire blade.
"Good, my style change stillworks. Execute Name Change C:/Omicron.EXE Pyroman.EXE"
After uttering those words, his data properties window came up, his name being changed to Pyroman.
"Good. With my name being left behind, I leave my past behind. It's time to move on. For Alex."
Pyroman walked towards the light.

Chapter 3
Risen from Darkness
--------------------------------
As he approached the light, he looked. It actually seemed like some sort of window, a window of some other network.
“So, this is what that light was. A portal?” Pyroman approached it.
The closer he got, the more it seemed he was drawn to the sight. It looked like his current location, just more light was there, and other navis were there. It seemed a tad more friendlier than where he was at, but still seemed like a place of hopelessness. At least maybe he would find some answers there.
As he finally made it to the portal, he looked straight up at it.
“Air Shoes, cache chip data, activate.”
The saved copy of his recently used Air Shoes chip activated. He began to rise upward, eventually passing through the portal.
“I did it. I made it out. I wonder why I was-” He was immediately cut off when a Heel Navi approached.
“Well, well, someone emerges from Black Earth. I suppose you have copies of the chips of darkness, right?”
“Wha?! Who are you, where am I, why are you asking a navi of light about darkness, and why are you asking me of all navis?”
“Heh, you seem a lot dumber than you look. You certainly don’t look like a navi of light.”
“Yeah, I--” And, it suddenly hits him: he’s disguised. “...am. In meaning that I don’tuse those dark chip things.”
“So, what were you doing in Black Earth?! Don’t tell me you’re gonna lie about not having the chips of darkness!”
“What chips? I don’t have any chips that have anything to do with darkness.”
“Oh, you don’t, eh? Muramasa? Element Dark? Poison Anubis? Black Wing? Bug Curse? Those don’t ring a bell?”
“Uh... not really...” Pyro was immediately picked up by the top of his frame.
“Listen, buddy, I have no time to listen to your bull****! Hand over the chips now, or be deleted instantly!” The Heel Navi dragged Pyro up to his face. “What’s your answer?!”
“This.”
Pyro pressed his left foot on the Heel Navi, bouncing off of his chest. He turned that into a backflip, landing on bent knee, with one hand on the floor. “I don’t want to fight you, but if you force me, I will fight.”
“Fine, I’m in a fighting mood anyways. Sword!” The Heel Navi extended his arm into a sword.
“You asked for it. Hero Sword!” Pyro extended his arm into a hero sword.
Okay, I’m gonna hold back. After everything that’s happened today, the last thing I want is for someone else to wind up dead. Pyro stood up.
The Heel Navi began the fight by jumping into the air. Quickly changing his other arm into a buster, he fired away from Pyroman, causing the Heel Navi to fly directly at him. Sword ready, he closed in to strrike at Pyro. However, he did not expect this.
Pyro ducked.
The Heel Navi hit the ground with surprising magnitude, causing a few bits of data to fly and fragment. After he got back up, he lunged yet again at Pyroman.
“Heh, this is getting funny.” Pyroman moved his arm into a defensive position, and as soon as the Heel Navi came towards him, he began blocking slashes. After a bit, the Heel Navi began to slowly get tired, until he eventually stood there, hands on knees, panting from exhaustion.
“Are you done? Because I have a mission, and you’re just getting in the way.” Pyro’s hero sword went away as he crossed his arms.
“You motherf***er, I’m gonna f***ing kill you,you son of a b**** dumba---” The Heel Navi then fell forward, on his face, obviously too tired to even speak. Pyroman chuckled.
“This isn’t really your day, is it?” The Heel Navi managed to shake his head no.
“Sorry, I didn’t know. Here, this may help.” Pyroman offered a Full Energy Subchip to the Heel Navi, now trying to push himself up. The Heel Navi grabbed the Subchip, falling yet again because his one arm alone didn’t support his weight. He eventually used the chip, and got up.
“No, I should be sorry. I wanted those chips to gain access to Black Earth, where I heard some fabulous chips lay. I thought you would have had them, but obviously you didn’t. Sorry for attacking you. I’m surprised you were that strong.”
“Thanks. By the way, mind telling me where I am? I teleported to that Black Earth you keep mentioning after some incident that happened.”
“You’re in the Undernet, buddy. The dark end.”
“The dark end?”
“There’s two parts of this region: the light end, and the dark end. The light end leads to what is known as Sanctuary, but most of us call it Secret Area, because to get in, you need a certain amount of different chips. This end, the dark end, leads to Black Earth, where you were. By the way, how’d you get in, anyways? You usually can only get in to Black Earth by having five Darkness Chips.”
“I wish I knew, myself.”
“Ah,well, so much for trying to get in.” The Heel Navi began to leave, when Pyro spoke up.
“Wait, what’s your name, anyways?”
“Kishuna. You’ll hear my name every now and then; I’m pretty famous in the Undernet. You?”
“O-- err, Pyroman.”
“Going under an alias, are we? Whatever, all I really care is that you’re an abnormally strong fire-type surface navi. Anyways, see ya.” Kishuna walked away.
That was odd, Pyroman thought. “Bye.” As the Heel Navi walked off, he stood there.
“Now where do I go? I forgot to ask for direc--”
Pyroman was immediately cut off as he unexpectedly logged out.

Geez, I'm lazy. Sorry for the extremely long delay, here's chapter 4.
-----------------------------------
Chapter 4
Discovery
Pyro opened his eyes and pushed himself off the floor. He took a glance around, to try to identify where he was. It seemed like a PET, but was different. He couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something quite peculiar about this place.
For one, it was almost pitch dark. The darkness spread throughout the room, as there were no lights to light up the place. He tried activating a light up function, but it didn't work.
Another odd thing was that it wasn't like the typical Advanced PET he was in. It seemed different. The background was still green and all, but it felt different. He tried accessing basic functions, like Solitaire and such, but nothing came up correctly.
Pyroman was about to see if he could log out, when...
"Omicron, is that you?"
Pyro turned around. "...Who are you? And how do you know my real name?"
"How could I not?" Alex stepped forth from the shadows.
"Wh... Wha?! Who are you? This is not funny!" Pyro raised his left arm into a buster and launched a HeatShot at what looked like his operator. Oddly, though, the shot went right through him, as if he were a hologram or ghost of some sort.
"Omicron, calm down, it's me, Alex!" Sadly though, it didn't work, as Pyro went at it blasting him with everything he had. "Listen, Omicron, I just want to say I'm sorry for the heartache I've caused you! I wasn't careful, and got killed for it. I just wanted to say I'm sorry..."
Pyro stopped firing for a moment. He looked at Alex, wondering what this was all about.
"Listen, Omicron, I just want to let you know that while I may be gone, I'll always be with you. Through your good times, and through your tough ones. I know I may not be there physically, I'll be there in spirit. Now, I have to leave, and it's time for you to wake up. Good bye..."
Pyro ran towards the fading Alex. "No, don't leave me... Alex..."
--------------------------------------------
Pyroman woke up with a sudden jolt. He was back inside his old PET, but where he was he wasn't sure about. After looking around, it seemed like some sort of laboratory, but he couldn't figure out where specifically. That is, until...
"Hello there. You had quite an adventure, buddy. You all right in there?" A guy with sort of spiky-ish brown hair, a white coat, and a jersey with the number 17 looked at him.
Pyroman rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, I think."
"Good. Anyways, you can call me Famous. I'm gonna be caring for you for a little bit, until you're ready to get back up and moving again. You may not have-" As he said this, Pyro tried to stand up, but fell back again onto the cyber-cot set there for him. "...noticed yet, but we had to analyze some of your data, and because of that most of your motion programming has been paused."
"What kind of data? My memory?"
"Yes, and your basic navi functions. We're trying to find out who was behind your Net-op's death." With that word, Pyro closed his eyes for a second. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring back that bad memory..."
"No, it's fine, I'm done crying anyways. I had my time to grieve. I'd rather just move on. It's what he'd want, anyways."
"Very well. Anyways, it seems this was apparently the work of a Darkloid. Have you heard of them before?"
"Yeah, those dark chip addicts who wreak havoc. Was it one of them?"
"It seems like it. Your visual memory recalled a purple character of some sortss, a sword weilder. It seemed like a regular navi, nothing too special. What we wanted to find out is the identity of the navi, what was his motive, and if he's working for anyone. So, we went out to the crime scene, activated a dimensional area, and apparently he left some navi data fragments we identified. He sseems to be a typical heel navi, just that he's also a darkloid. We also noticed something."
"What?"
"This, you can say, was a lynching."
Pyroman was shocked. "What? A mob hit? What, are you serious?!"
"Yes. He wsas identified to one of the crime synidcates around, a group that works close to the infamous Nebula. Apparently, this was planned. Why they killed him, I have no idea."
"Hm... Anyways, how long do I have until I'm okay?" Pyroman picked up his limp leg with his hand and dropped it.
"Should be a day or so. Why?"
"I have some investigating to do."
"Please, don't. We already have a bunch of our guys working on this; you'll probably just get in the way."
"Who said I would be doing the same things they would? I have other methods. Besides, I can work full time on this. You can't say any of your guys can do that."
Fasmous looked at him for a moment. "...you got a point. Are you sure about this? I mean, you could be killed."
"I don't care anymore. I just want to see to it that these guys don't harm anyone else anymore." Pyro closed his fist in anger.
"Fine, I suppose it's okay with me. I've checked your abilities, and you seem pretty competent. Also the fact that you're going under a pseudonym..." Pyroman looked up in surprise. "...might help as well, Omicron. What, did you think I wouldn't notice?"
"Nah, I figured with your skill you probably could figure it out. I'm just surprised you did it so quickly."
Famous looked at him with a frustrated look. "What do you mean, quickly? It took us a week just to figure out your encoding!"
"Wha... wait, how long have I been on shut down?"
"About 15 days now."
"Seriously? Great, now the guy could be anywhere."
"Sorry about that, it's just since you were a custom navi, your encoding isn't typical of the usual navi. Simply fascinating, if I may add."
"What's so fascinating about my encoding?"
"How difficult it was. We had to bring in Dr. Hikari and Dr. Cossack to assist. Whoever made you was an incredible programmer."
"Yeah, that would be gramps. He works in Netopia, as one of the managers at IPC."
"Oh, so he works with Eugene Chaud and his family. Chaud works with us a lot on some of he crimes over there."
"Really? I never knew that. Anyways, he programmed me, and Alex's cousin's navi."
"Well, good. Anyways, we have to do some more analysis, so we'll need you to shut you down for a few hours. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, that's fine, Mr. Famous."
"Just call me Famous. Geez, I hope you don't become like a particular 11-year old I know..." And, with that, Famous shut Pyro down asnd began some tests.
