Cartoon physics, maybe. Maybe he survived under some rubble and eventually got to Sean...beats me. For an old man, he sure seems rather resilient.

I don't think the island blew up cause it mentions that the police capture all the www operatives.

Wily is alive because he made so many clones of himself. There a secret place in the metro line filled with Wily.

Oh come on people. Is Wily's ability to escape death really something worth discussing? It doesn't matter that this is his EXE version we're talking about, he's still a Dr.Wily, and it takes WAY more than exploding fortress to kill someone called Dr.Wily. It's just a fact of life.

But forgetting the fact that it's Wily, I think I should add that NOBODY dies in the EXE series. No, not even Arashi, not even Inukai. Obviously not Regal or Wily. Even Tadashi is as alive as Dr.Light is in the X-Series. What kind of game do you think this is, exactly? Megaman is aimed at kids, why should it have death?

Yes, Wily was in the middle of his fortress at the moment it was exploding. That was for dramatic effect. It was Capcom's feeble attempt at trying to surprise people when he came back the next time. That's all. Remember, this is Capcom we're talking about, writing anything original and unpredictable is hardly their strong-point. Any time you see a character "die", don't believe it for a second.
