When I hear Fyrefox, the X-men come to mind for some reason. Also, Fyrefox sounds femine to me.

Maddy's Custom is an e-reader card, pay attention. She doesn't appear in the game herself, just her name as the title of that card.

It's not really on topic, but might as well. It gives two abilities. "StatBug" and "EmoBug". The latter makes Megaman randomly shift through emotional states in battle (normal, worried, angry, FullSynchro, etc.) StatBug gives you a random status effect at the beginning of each battle it seems it's either Blind, Invis, or Confusion, don't know if there are any others. I think there's a guide at GFAQ now that covers E-Card effects. Otherwise, might as well ask any other questions about e-reader in the help topic. Josuke knows the most about them as far as I know.

So... both Barrel and Nenji were given girly names... and they're probably two of the manlier team members. That would figure... In EXE6, we'll get this big, muscular, sweaty, hairy mountain man who wrestlers bears and catches salmon with his teeth... goes mud bogging in his Jeep Wrangler, gets in drunken bar-fights on a nightly basis, and operates a navi named Rusticman through his leather-and-camo PET SP... and he'll get named Tiffany. Err, I mean, Tifny.

Of course Baryl sounds exactly the same as Barrel, when they half-ass Stream, you probably won't even know the difference.

The E-reader cards give you the abilities of various characters and viruses from the EXE series

For example

Netto's custom is a Rockman theme'd custmization
B will always be the Rock Buster
Bv will always be a charge shot
Mega + 1, and custom +1 I think..

Chump's Custom gives you a Blues theme
B is a sword and you have a shield

Anetta's custom turns you into a wood navi :3

I like it better than 4's system, which had more interesting skills, you couldn't use any without horribly disabling yourself

There's also a Saito card which gives you all the effects of Saito Style, including doubling your buster power (though it will never go higher than 10)

I have a feeling NT's ratings will plummet after Stream is dubbed. It's so dull and boring... and there's really nothing markettable about it. "Lan can still Cross Fuse! Yeah! Navis get real big now! Awesome! Here's a sweepstakes! Insane!" But, yeah... it won't bother me when Baryl is vocalized... but in a game where dialogue is solely derived from text... it's irking.

I agree that NT might become less popular by the time stream comes along, they might neglecyt dubbing it at all, as far as I know, the ratings arent really a "Break out hit" any more.

Maybe I spoke to soon about the name on the anime... we do have Maylu and Maysa (ew)

Yeah, they might change Beryl a little more so it can't be confused with an actual barrel. They may drive home the fruity spelling and give it a fruity pronunciation like "buh-RILL".

Wondering why if they could spell out "Blizzard Man" and "Tomahawk Man" in dialogue, why they even had to shorten the name in the first place Razz

Well, we coulda done worse. I'm horribly, horribly amused (emphasis on the horribly) by Baryl and FyreFox.

At least Megaman doesn't go DoubleSoul MoltanicSoul. It can always be worse. oO;

Hey, I was dead on when I guessed Tomahawkman's shrinkage. Do I get an e-cookie? n_n

So, everyone else kept their names? Dingo...Jasmine (-e, maybe?) - hey, what about Pride? 'they callin' her princess? Or Whip for that matter? ~~*

I haven't encountered those characters myself, but from reading the thread, I'm pretty sure they all retained their names (and spelling). I've also heard nothing of Whip...

Oop. I don't think it's a spoiler. >>* Whip was Pride's 'incognito' name when she was hanging around DenTech City on NT Warrior. Poipu in the original. But let's not get off-topic.

Honestly, I'm pretty pleased with the majority of the names. FyreFox makes me laugh and cry all at once.

Whip's not a spoiler... unless, is the name used in the games? That'd be kinda weird... considering Pride's new design in the games doesn't look like she's trying to cover her gender... But, regardless, even if Whip is used in the games, it's still not really a spoiler, I wouldn't say. (And for the record, it was Whip in the Japanese version too... what we were hearing was "hoippu," not "poipu.")

Hm. 'tis true. Okay. And no, no Whip in BN2.

...anyway, since this IS about name changing... Why couldn't they have put in 10-character limits for dub names? Pokemon did it. Why not Megaman? I mean, it wouldn't have solved the shrinkage problem. But it would've helped.
