Magic Drain actually beats Magic Jammer. Your opponent has to discard a magic card instead of you, if they want...so either way you win. Seven Tools isn't all that great, since most traps are activated during the battle phase, I'd say use Trap Jammer instead...

Trap Jammer
Counter Trap
You can only activate this card when your opponent activates a Trap Card during the Battle Phase. Negate the activation of the Trap Card and destroy it.

Hmmm...it's a counterspell with no drawbacks, but it can only be activated during a certain step.

The alternative gives freedom of when to counter, but it has a price tag of 1000 life.

I'd still say go with the Seven Tools, simply because it gives you more flexibility when choosing the trap you wish to counter. If you have a decently run deck, 1000 life is a fair price to pay for an answer to a threat.

Okay, I'm stepping in the right direction for a Dark Magician Deck. I just need everyone's opinions on some good cards to fit in and substitute. I am planning on substituting some cards but I need ideas first. Probably someone could help me in getting some cards

(Tribute monster x4)
Dark Magician x2
Chaos Command Magician
Archfiend of Gilfer*

(Monster x16)
Injection Fairy Lily
Obnoxious Celtic Gaurdian
Gemini Elf
Penguin Soilder
Double Coston
Dark Blade*
Dark Elf*
Mystic Swordsman**
Magician of Faith
La Jinn the Mystical genie of the lamp
Zombyra the Dark
Peten the Dark Clown x3
Kuriboh
Mystical Elf*

(Magic x13)
Riryoku*
Diffusion Wave Motion
Dark Magic Attack
Cost Down
Swords of Revealing Light
Nobelman of Crossout*
Hammer Shot*
Card Destruction
premature burial**
Ookazi
Mystical Space Typhoon
Lighten the Load*
Yami

(Trap x6)
Negate Attack
Magic Cylinder
Ring of Destruction
Magical Hats*
Magic Drain
Lightforce Sword

*=willing to trade out for something better,**=may or maynot trade out for something else
That's 39 cards. I think some of the cards I should look for are of course, 2 more Gemini Elves, a Mirror Force since it is just restricted now, a Mage's Power. a Dark Magician girl, Sages Stone, and maybe a Buster Blader as a side along with another Dark Magician on the side. Can anyone help me find these cards? Anything you wanna throw in? It'd be appreciated. >>

Sorry for a late response. Comps broken...

I think you should be able to flex your deck to either 45, to 50. Or if you want to get certain cards immediately then stick to 40.

I haven't bough/played in a long time either. Everyone sucks in my neighborhood, and they're getting all these strong cards and crap. Useless to them if you don't have brains.

Eh, this is my deck. Feel free to comment. It's a dark/light deck, with emphasis on the dark and a few earth monsters thrown in because they're my favorites. And they're kriffing annoying.

Normal Monsters

Opticlops
Dark/Fiend/Lvl 4
1800/1700

La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the lamp
Dark/Fiend/Lvl 4
1800/1000

Dark Magician
Dark/Spellcaster/Lvl7
2500/2100

Summoned Skull
Dark/Fiend/Lvl 6
2500/1200

Effect Monsters

Old Vindictive Magician
Dark/Spellcaster/Lvl2
450/600
FLIP: Destroy 1 monster on the field (regardless of position)

Newdoria
Dark/Fiend/Lvl 4
1200/800
When this card is sent to the graveyard as a result of battle, select 1 monster on the field and destroy it

Zombrya the Dark x 2
Dark/Warrior/Lvl 4
2100/500
This card cannot attack a player directly. Each time this card destroys 1 monster as a reslult of battle, decrease the attack of this card by 200 points

Morphing Jar #2
Earth/Rock/Lvl 3
800/700
FLIP: Return all monster cards on the field to their respective decks and shuffle them. You and your opponent then pick up cards until you both have the same number of Monster cards (lvl 4 or lower) that were returned to each deck. Special Summon the monsters in face-down defense position. Any other cards picked up are discarded to the Graveyard.

Kaiser Sea Horse
Light/Sea Serpent/Lvl 4
1700/1650
If you tribute summon a Light monster, you can treat this monster as 2 tribute summons for the tribute monster

Homunculus the Alchemic Being x 3
Light/Plant/Lvl 4
1800/1600
you can change the attribute of this monster. this effect can only be used once per turn.

Pitch-Black Warwolf x 3
Dark/Beast Warrior/Lvl 4
1600/600
As long as this card remains face-up on your side of the field, your opponent cannont activate Trap Cards during the battle phase.

Mask of Darkness
Dark/Fiend/Lvl 2
900/400
FLIP: Select 1 Trap Card from your graveyward and return it to your hand.

Magician of Faith
Light/Spellcaster/Lvl 1
FLIP: Select 1 Magic Card from your graveyard and return it to your hand.

Inaba White Rabbit
Earth/Beast/Spirit/lvl 3
700/500
This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owwner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or flipped face-up. This monster attacks your opponent's life points directly.

Traps

Trap Hole
If the attack of a monster summoned by your opponent (excluding special summons) is 1000 points or more, the monster is destroyed.

Seven Tools of the bandit
Counter
Pay 1000 of your life points to negate the activation of a trap card and destroy it.

Compulsory Evacuation Device x 2
Return one monster on the field to its owner's hand.

Ceasefire
Flip all face down Defence Position monsters on the field face-up. Flip Effects are not activated at this time. INflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's life points for each effect monster on the field.

Sakuretsu Armor
You can only activate this card when your opponent declares an attack. Destroy the attacking monster.

Waboku
Any Damage inflicted by an opponent's monster is reduced to 0 during the turn this card is activated.

Shadow Spell
Continuous
Select one face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. Decrease the attack of the selected monster by 700 points. The monster cannot attack or change its battle position. When the selected monster is destroyed or removed from the field, this card is also destroyed.

Dust Tornado
Destroy one spell or trap card on your opponent's side of the field. you can then set one spell or trap card from your hand.

Raigeki Break
Discard 1 card from your hand to the graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field.

Magic

Mystic Plamsa Zone
Quick-play (I think)
Destroy one magic or trap caard on the field.

Mystic Plasma Zone x 3
Field
Increase the attack of all Dark monsters by 500 points and reduce their defense by 400 points.

Pot of Greed
Draw two cards from your deck.

Offerings to the doomed
Quick-Play
Destroys 1 face-up monster. Skip your next draw phase.

Fissure x3
Destroy 1 face-up monster with the lowest attack on your opponent's side of the field.

Monster Reborn
Select 1 monster card from either your opponent's or your own graveyard and place it on the field under your control in face up attack or defense position. This is considered a special summon.

Axe of Despair.
Equip
A monster equipped with this card increases its attack by 1000 points. When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, if you offer one monster on your side of the field as a tribute, this card returns to the top of your deck.

That's my deck. It's not really tournament legal until I take out Monster Reborn, and I don't really buy and packs and rely on freebies (I'm broke). All descriptions are taken right from the cards themselves with a bit of reorganizing on my part.

also another news

upcoming sets for yugioh

Cybernetic Revolution- heard comming this august
Elemental energy
and now
Shadows of infinity.

also on dummy golem here are the rulings okay not all of them but it is of what you asked

If "Dummy Golem" is attacked, flipped, and destroyed by damage calculation, its effect is not applied because it is destroyed. So control does not switch.

oh yeah. you guys do know right? Dark magician girl in 2005 tins. is of a different art. this one is full body.
