All true. Meanwhile "younger than the others" may just be comparing him to his fellow official Netbattlers and not Lan and the gang. If I'm not mistaken they did say he was the youngest of them all but is one of the most feared.

In the games, the fifth grade characters are 10, and then they're 11 in sixth grade. It's stated explicitly. I don't know why some people are saying "sixth grade + Not age 12 = LOGIC ERROR HEAD EXPLODE!" it's not like everyone starts or progresses through school at the exact same age as everyone else. I was 11 when I was in Grade 6, of course my birthday was during the year so I was also 12 later on, but I remember there were other kids that were a year older or younger. And also remember that this is the Japanese school system they're following so Summer Vacation does not mean a new year, and average age per grade may be different too.

Keeping in mind that the span ofthe whole series is almost 2 years at this point it's easy to calculate their current ages

I was referring to Iceman in the anime, for one thing.

I also always assumed that Chaud had probably skipped a grade. His father obviously pushes him and we know he's smart anyways, so it's not really a stretch.

I can't give anymore evidence other than what I feel and believe. I'm not trying to convince other people, I'm just saying what I think. And yeah, the guidebooks aren't the best place to get stuff from, but I thought that way before I saw the guidebook. I can't explain it, exactly, it's simply a different kind of sense than pure reason.

If there were any reason in me, I think it would've been gone somewhere around when the manga declared Serenade as male. I stopped working in canon a long time ago, and I don't intend to start now.

Also, I believe Laika is anywhere between 13-16. He has the same sort of toug, cold exterior Chaud does, making him seem older than he really is and difficult to pinpoint.

So the guide books from capcom are wrong and you're right, on the grounds that you 'said so'?

The EXE encyclopedia says Enzan is a gifted student, but not that he skipped a grade.

I'm not saying I'm right, I'm saying I don't deal with canon. I didn't say anybody's wrong, I simply said I'm not working from that angle. I stopped trying to make sense of what Capcom said and set aside my own rules for dealing with it in fanfics. I'm not saying those are 'right' or 'wrong', and I'm not saying anyone else is. I'm just trying to say it doesn't make a real difference to me, as it's not the line of thinking I normally use.
In no way have I tried to actively convince anyone I'm right, nor do I ever. I don't even believe I am, as far as canon goes. Heck, I'll be the first one to admit that I don't care if I'm right in canon. All I'm saying is that I don't work with that. What I said is what I work with. It makes no difference to me if Capcom publishes their official ages. Whether I'm right or wrong after that point will not change that I work in an AU, and normally have to turn my brain off for canon. I tossed something random out there because it was late and I wanted to put in some form of opinion, so I reverted to the ages I decided for one of my frequently used AUs. In some of them, I even have dates and birthdates based on actual years decided, but that doesn't mean they're right.
I have always believed everyone's entitled to an opinion. I am simply defending the right for me to use mine, not forcing it on anyone.

If I recall correctly, anyone can make a koisk to sell anything, like lemonade or sandwiches or personally made boxed lunches. She's just not handing lemonade out...but this is in the game

In the anime...maybe some things are best left unknown? o.o;

Hmmm...I distinctly remember that within EXE5, Tesla claimed that she was exactly 29 years old. It was in the dialogue. I'd quote the script, but it's on my computer over 11,000 kilometers away right now.

Personally, I trust Absolute Anime when it comes to things like ages or Japanese names.

According to this site, Netto is 12. Therefore, I believe him to be 12. Since Mayl and co. (excluding Yaito) are in the same grade, it is reasonable to conclude that they are the same age as well, or nearly the same age. It has been specifically stated that Yai skipped several grades, so she is several years younger. The site does not have an age for her, so you can decide for yourself. Personally, she looks to be the same age as Takeru Takaishi, from the first season of Digimon. Therefore, I say that she is 8, or perhaps 9.

Enzan is... especially difficult. Absolute Anime has him listed as "around 13", so he could be Netto's age, or a year older. I choose the latter. However, no one else should be compelled to take my word for it.

Search for the site yourself if you don't believe me. This is just my take on things, though. It's also the ages I'll use in fanfictions, aside from the AU ones.
