Er... I just came up with this idea today and punched out a rough prologue. I decided to post it here to see if it generates any interest and is worth continuing. Please note, it has not been seen by my beta, so please excuse any spelling/grammar mistakes.
Feedback is greatly appreciated.

~Prologue: Mysteries in the night~
Nobody minded the pristine white fog that rolled in unexpectedly one cloudless summer night. It descended upon a nearly abandoned park, glittering ethereally in the pale light of the full moon. The moon seemed to hover directly over the fog, as if watching over it in its own silent way. This strangely beautiful scene distracted the few people in the park, who all stopped to stare in wonder.
Sirens disturbed the peaceful night, uniformed officers ushering the spellbound public out of the park. The people protested, as they wanted to keep watching the spectacle that held them so captivated. They were allowed to take pictures to remember this night by, and many went away satisfied. Most were left with the feeling that they had witnessed something truly special, something they would never again see in their lifetimes.
The officers were not spellbound by beauty. They appreciated the sight, yes, but they were also on a mission. Almost regretfully, they sealed off the area to all but hulking black trucks that rumbled down the street with an air of importance. Everyone knew to avoid those trucks, as they were associated with something best unspoken.
Figures clothed in black climbed down from the trucks and began setting up instruments just outside of the perimeter of the fog. They worked in silence, as they felt that breaking the silence would shatter the magic of that night. No one was left untouched by the innocent beauty.
Two figures stood apart from the others. One was dressed in a black business suit, his pale skin and short blond hair a sharp contrast. Dark sunglasses hid his eyes, though how he was able to see was a mystery to those who glanced his way. The other was a shorter man in a pair of slacks and a ruffled dress shirt, a windbreaker over this to protect him from the unusual chill of the night. Dark hair, more blue than black, seemed to vanish into the night, though his eyes sparkled with something unidentifiable behind glasses. He had the look of someone who had been awakened hastily, but no one seemed to care. Everyone in the area was focused on the otherworldly sight that had drawn them here.
After a time, the fog began to fade, much to the dismay of those there. Suddenly the night was no longer magical, but dark and oppressing, lit only by the occasional streetlights that lined the park’s sidewalks.
At last, the blond spoke.
“We knew this might happen, Janyu.”
His companion sighed. “I know. In a way, I hoped it would. They were so depressed after… Now they can have hope again.”
“It also means that anyone who wanted could come, whether they were friend or foe,” the blond warned.
Janyu didn’t respond, as his sharp eyes caught movement in the darkness. “Be careful!” he called to those gathered there. “Something came through!”
“Get some light in here!” the blond yelled.
Two workers fiddled with some wires before a spotlight snapped on, pointing into the sky. They maneuvered the spotlight and at last shed some illumination onto the lone area untouched by the streetlights.
A hand became visible as it was raised, shielding something that was still unseen, as eyes had yet to adjust to the sudden brightness. The scene slowly became clear, and what was displayed startled those there.
A teenaged boy sat on the ground, clothed in a skintight dark blue suit with matching boots of a slightly lighter shade that widened at the cuffs. Pale blue stripes ran up his sides from the tops of his boots to just below his arms. Yellow pads adorned his shoulders, while a symbol on his chest glittered in the harsh light. It looked like a red circle, though it was cut in half by a black stripe that encircled the red. A gold ring that seemed to unify it all surrounded all this. In his lap was a dark blue helmet with a segmented yellow band running from the front to the back. Flanking the dark blue area was a lighter blue that matched his boots, with a lighter blue strip that was the same color as the stripes on his side barely visible in the brightness. Blue gloves in the same color and style as the boots were draped over the helmet. The hand that blocked the light shadowed his pale face, though dark hair could be seen spiking outwards down his neck.
“Hold your fire!” the blond man barked. Unseen figures beyond the light of the spotlight didn’t move, though they all kept their fingers on the triggers of their rifles. These people were not known for letting their guard down at all. The boy winced at the volume.
Janyu moved forward cautiously, stopping a meter away from the boy. “I’m Janyu Wong,” he said kindly, kneeling down so he could look the boy directly in the eyes. Narrowed emerald greeted him.
The boy opened his mouth to say something, then looked startled. “I… can’t remember… is my name Saito?” He shook his head. “That doesn’t seem right… why can’t I remember?”
Janyu offered a comforting smile. “It’s all right. Why don’t we just call you Saito for now?”
Saito looked uncertain for a moment, then nodded. “What’s going on?” he asked. His voice betrayed his fear, and Janyu winced.
“We thought there was someone dangerous here,” Janyu replied. “You’re not dangerous, are you?”
“I don’t… think so…” Saito lowered his hand. “I hope I’m not…”
Janyu smiled. “I don’t think you are. Can you stand?”
Saito nodded and climbed to his feet, holding the helmet and gloves in his hands. He continued squinting, and Janyu abruptly realized that the spotlight was still shining directly in his face.
“Cut the light!” he called over his shoulder. He stood as his orders were followed, drowning the area in darkness once again. Reaching forward, he found Saito’s arm in the darkness. “It’s just me,” he assured as the boy jumped in alarm. “We’re going to take you somewhere. You’ll be safe there, don’t worry.”
A moment’s silence.
“I… I trust you, Mr. Wong.”
Janyu smiled. “Please, call me Janyu.”
“All right.”
Saito allowed himself to be led forward by Janyu. They passed the perimeter set up by the men in black and joined the blond near one of the trucks. Saito stared up curiously at him.
“You can call me Yamaki,” the blond introduced himself. His kind voice seemed out of place, as he looked somewhat sinister in the darkness. “We’ll take care of you, Saito. You don’t have to worry.”
“Can you help me find out why I can’t remember?” Saito asked him earnestly.
“We’ll do our best.” Yamaki gestured to the truck. “Please climb in.”
Saito did as he was told, settling into a seat in the back of the truck. Janyu followed him. Yamaki closed the door. A moment later the truck jerked into motion. Everyone watched it pull out of the park silently, each person wondering the same thing.
Who was this mysterious boy? And why had he appeared out of a Digital Field?
...........................................................................................................
Janyu and Yamaki met up back at the headquarters of the government-run company known commonly as Hypnos. They watched Saito from behind a plane of mirrored glass as the boy ate a respectable portion of curry. He’d been given other clothes to wear and was now comfortable in a pair of blue jeans and a blue t-shirt. Strangely, the symbol on the front of his other outfit had also been somehow engraved onto the skin of his chest, though it hadn’t looked like a scar when Janyu had caught a glimpse of it. It simply looked like some sort of birthmark.
It only added more questions to the mystery that was Saito.
“Have you found out anything?” Janyu asked Yamaki quietly. He turned his gaze from Saito to look inquiringly at the blond.
Yamaki shook his head. “There are no teenagers fitting his description missing from the area.”
“What do you think? Could it have something to do with the mysterious data that was integrated by the Digital World?”
Yamaki raised an eyebrow. “Why would you think that?”
“Technicians examined his clothes. They had an energy signature similar to that of the Digimon, though not quite.” Janyu chewed his lip in thought. “He doesn’t seem like a digimon, though. He actually seems… human.”
“Perhaps he is human. If you’ll recall, Ryo spent a great deal of time in the Digital World. It may be that he wandered into the Digital World and has only just now returned.” Yamaki removed his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes. “We can’t keep him here for an extended period of time, but I think it would be best if we were able to keep track of him. What do you suggest, Janyu?”
“I’d offer to take him, but we have too many mouths to feed as it is. Jenrya told me that Takato’s parents needed help in the shop…” Janyu reached into his pocket for his cell phone and flicked it open. The number he wanted was easily accessible.
After a few moments, Janyu closed the phone and put it back in his pocket. “The Matsudas agreed to take him,” he informed Yamaki. “We can bring him straight over.”
“I’ll get the adoption papers,” Yamaki said. “Will you take him?”
Janyu nodded.

Intriguing.
Unfortunately, I have not a clue about the world of Digimon, so I cannot give you any idea about content.
The prologue was written quite magnificently. What stood out the most about the work was the decadent imagery--descriptions used were very charged and did a fantastic job of painting the scenery. My only gripe is the use of intorspective questions such as this one.

Those can be stripped entirely, as the dialogue and other text imply the question.
Otherwise, this is among some of the better material I have read recently. Good job. ^_^ _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks!
