We may never see the movie... *possible spoilers*

OK... let's decipher this. G4 posted that November 2004. The movie came out March 2005. That's a big time frame, and they probably didn't know many details regarding the movie. Plus, of course Capcom is going to announce it to an English news source as a "MegaMan" movie, regardless if they have plans to localize it or not. If they said "Rockman," no one would know what they're talking about (or rather, they'd assume... I think it's safe to say we all know who Rockman is at this point). They used the name MegaMan because it's supposidely more recognizable as Rockman to us...

You'll see little mess-ups like this all the time on news sites like this. Nintendo Philes reported the games to be shown as some Japanese game expo (forget the name)... and they listed, of course, all the names as "MegaMan." They also listed "MegaMan Dash." Now, we all know ROCKMAN Dash is getting a PSP port... but the series is called MegaMan Legends over here. Furthermore, we still haven't even received an English confirmation on the game. So... there ya go. They tried to make it more recognizable and created misinformation.

You are all acting like its a no go definately. But consider that it will not come up untill kids WB sarts airing the dubbed stream. They don't need alot of time to dub a forty five minute movie. So at least be a little optimistic usually Im the depressed one. Btcha didn't expect that.

lol American dubbing and censoring has been a problem for a long time. More so for some companies than others, but still. I think that if the popularity of the show and merchandising holds out, they will release the movie at least on DVD at some point.

I've been wondering, and maybe this is a dumb question, but is anyone going to try and sub it? I would prefer an original, uncut sub over a sliced and diced dub anyway. ...Why do I sound like I'm talking about sandwiches? O.o

i really hope they package the forte cross e-reader card in the movie or dvd if it is released here in the us. mostlikly though it wont be, but those who want it badly will hack it.

The FCR E-Reader card was given to those who went to the movie showing in theaters. I'm pretty sure it was some kind of limited edition. If anyone has BN5 and an E-Reader at Otakon, they're free to borrow my card. :P

For the Digimon Movie they hacked away at three OAVs and completely butchered them to make something that (to them) made sense. I don't know if there are any Rockman.exe OAVs, but that might not stop dubbers. If they were dead set on a movie release they could just hack apart a few eps of Stream (to make the movie make some sense) and splice them onto the movie proper.

I pray to the gods that this doesn't happen, but... Dubbers just don't care about quality. They just care about selling stuff. The only anime I have ever seen dubbed well was Yami no Matsuei, and it was dubbed by US Manga Corps. I'm surprised it hasn't been sued yet because of the swearing. American dubbers make me want to take a Gundam to their offices.

I sincerely hope the Rockman.exe movie is not released in theaters in America. What they would have to do to it... I'd just prefer to have it released in DVD, or better yet, not at all in America. I'd be happy to watch the original subbed.

I'd just like to point out that the movie being under an hour isn't going to stop them from releasing it to DVD. It wouldn't be the first anime OAV that clocked in at less than an hour and was still released on it's own. They'd be hard pressed to release it to theaters given the length, but given that it would probably cost about as much as dubbing two episodes while still being a full price DVD, I'd be surprised if they didn't release it.
