I do NOT get this anime at all. All I know is that their is a crazed kid known as Lil' Slugger, who goes around thwaping people with a bat. Can anyone put a clear description of the plot down so I know what the hell is going on when I watch it?

Click on "More Stuff" over on the right and it'll take you to another page that has a link to a Behind the scenes interview that will tell you more about the show.

Its a pretty interesting show except that Adult Swim didn't put up the translated kanji. Heh. I also love the intro and outro music. ^_^ Like most anime, it won't make a lot of sense unless you keep watching. Plus, they will start showing it with translated kanji in the later episodes. Which is good.

From what I've seen, it looks like a detective flick, where people are trying to solve the mystery of who this rollerblading bat-slinging Lil' Slugger really is. My impression: this series features rather sadistic character and a storyline with a delicate balance of realism with horror and a bit of film noir. My verdict: I think the episodes that have aired so far are pretty much okay as far as animation/plot, but I'll have to see more of the series and how it develops to give you a more credible opinion. -_-;

Theres only 13 episodes, seeing as only about 3 or 4 Episodes have been shown and Lil' Slugger was caught in the last. I'm curious to see whats to happen now.

I've read that Paranoia Agent won't make sense until the very last episode...

Last week's episode, the big RPG parody... yeah, it was comical, but I didn't realize this show was allowed to do an episode of complete humor. PA always came off as more of the twisted/creepy anime... well, not so much creepy, but it is psychologically wrenching. It just took me by surprise, I suppose...

But, yeah, PA is pretty much one of the best anime I've seen... and I figured that out after the first episode. Actually, I probably figured it out when Mitsuhiro said that "you have to be sensitive when talking to young girls, like if you were peeling a soft peach," and Karino says [spoil:fbc1310bc0]"I bet you'd like to peel her peach."[/spoil:fbc1310bc0] (dirty joke)

I mean... come on... who wouldn't love an anime after a line like that? That and how catchy the themes are... not to mention the intro song is singing about "beautiful mushroom clouds in the sky" and blah blah blah, if I recall correctly...

No, but in all seriousness, this anime is brilliant. The box-set of all 13 episodes should be out in July, if I remember right... 'definitely recommend picking it up.

And to the topic creator: if you think Paranoia Agent is confusing, try watching Serial Experiments Lain or Boogiepop Phantom. PA's a lot easier to follow than those ones...

Well, what makes it confusing is the unknown. Such as why Lil Slugger shows up when he does, why he was caught, IF he was really caught, and if some people are just making up their accounts with him. Plus there's the non-translated kanji. Someone on the AS message boards was kind enough to provide screen shots of the kanji translated and they refer to Lil Slugger as "Shounen Bat" in the Japanese version. I saw the RPG parody episode last week and it was really weird. lol It was goofy, but in a good way. I wonder if he was just leading them on.

Does anyone have a translation of the opening theme song? I've tried animelyrics.com and Google, but nothing comes up so far.

The episodes I've seen show that someone is going through somthing. That somthing is normaly an issue that that person is dealing with that is messing up thier lives. "Little slugger" comes up and *BOP* they're out cold. In turn that person feels more relived and at peace. So basically he solves people's issues in a really weird way.

I've only seen 1 episode (The RPG one) and found it amusing, but now I'm lost as to what the series is really about.

Yeah, at first I thought the show was dumb until I saw the "RPG" epsiode and then everything clicked. For some reason, it reminded me of FLCL in that you have to watch the entire series in order to fully understand it. Oh, by the way, was the "RPG" episode the last episode or is there a little more(can't be that much more if it's only 13 episodes long)?
