Is there anyway you can put a post limit to get into the Site Suggestions forum? you know... that way you know the person has been here for a while and should know the rules...

Think of it... a person would have to get used to reading stickies (as you say in other forums) so once they get here, they'll pretty much read the stickies...

That doesnt sound very fair to others though considering that this fourm is for all of us and your denying others to make sudgestions. It really doesnt matter how long you have been on the fourm really but more like how smart you are to make a good sudgestion and staying for a while on the fourm doesnt qualify you to be able to post ideas.

Well...that could work in a way...it would really stop the "An RP section would be great!?!11!1 kthx".

Of course, then people would post in a different section "Help! I can't post in site recommendations!" Or they would post their RPG section request somewhere else.

Hey, here's a better idea. Make it so that no one with a post count under 30 can post in ANY section! Oh wait... well, it would solve both problems at once. :)

Actually, perhaps doing something to the likes of restricting members from entering this section unless they've got about 50 posts or something. Then blatantly explain in the forum description "It requires 50 posts to post here." or something. Would be more logical. :O

(Although, my first suggestion still stands.)

Or everyone could just read the rules. :)

that's what my suggestion is trying to do...

by getting a certain amout of posts, they should have already been told to read the rules and stuff... and it's pretty fair... I think... you know... 50-100 posts to post here...

Could, should, but... correct me if I'm wrong but... they don't always do it.. Constantly hoping that someone with the common sense to read the rules will come along instead of actually doing something about the problem is... well, a tad stupid. You've done all you can to enforce that the rules are read aside from putting it in size 50 on the forum itself.

I mean, if it keeps happening even now, then technically, it will probably continue this way unless you cease registration. There's always gonna be one or two in every bunch that don't read the rules and in turn post stupid shit like "giv mi dam rpg form plz!!!11".

Just saying~

EDIT: A thought just occurred... if you want them to read the rules... why not put 15 stickies titled "RULES RULES RULES RULES RULES RULES RULES" in every section?

The point of my post was to basically say "Saying "they should have the common sense" does not mean they do, so instead of hoping people will suddenly get less stupid and being annoyed when someone does something like this, why not just.... prevent it?"

I mean, not to sound "mean" but... what purpose does a person with less than enough forum experience here have in suggesting changes? I'm beginning to question why this forum exists.

Uh... that's not exactly a method of preventing >.>; I'm in an odd way about reading things today, so I might have misinterpreted it...but um, why not make it so there are less ways they can give reason to be banned, instead of leaving openings just so they /will/ be banned? I'm all for everyone reading the rules and whatnot (See: 15 stickes, RULES RULES RULES RULES, etc) but if they aren't going to, wouldn't it at least be more humane forum wise to make it so there are fewer ways they can? Unless someone is trolling the forum, and intentionally being a dumbshit, a person can still abide by rules without reading them.

Too bad there isn't a way to auto-reply to every post in the Hello section with "READ THE RULES OR DIE" or something, kinda like a bot... but I don't think that's possible for a forum, so.... meh.

Prime example of last sentence of first post(I'd imagine): I've never read the rules on this forum, literally. Odd thing, that.... regardless. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Can be somehow applied to the situation.... and yet disapproved of aswell. :O

k.... I think I worded that right... o.o;

EDIT: Make a new section of the board that no one can post in called "NO RPGS ON THIS BOARD EVER" full of topics with the same name. That should get the message across.

There's no point to putting any more effort into preventing. If a rule is broken, we tell them about it with a warning. If they refuse to learn after that, it's their issue. We can only prevent so much, the other side has to do some of the work as well.
