Suggestion for post "flood control"

I was thinking maybe a "flood control" waiting period could be established between posts, whereby a user would need to wait around a minute or so before making a new post. I've seen this elsewhere and it's pretty useful in preventing spam-like responses in threads. This way, during the waiting period the user has a chance to at least read over the material in the thread to know what is actually being responded to, before making an unrelated post that could possibly be interpreted as spam. It could probably also save bandwidth for those more intense periods when many users are posting at a time.

I don't think he means the flood protection we already have, where you cannot post if you have recently posted.

I think what he means is that from the time you hit "reply" or "new topic", you'd have to spend at least X amount of time writing your post before it would be allowed to be submitted.

I really meant the waiting time between ending a post by hitting "Submit" and then hitting "Reply" or "New Topic" to start writing a new one, which I think Izumi says to be 30 seconds. I just didn't think a wait time existed since I usually don't get a message that I have to wait at least that much time before starting a new post. But I also think PlaguedOne brought up a good point for spending at least X time on a post. It sure limits the spamness. ^^
