Anyone here play Initial D: Arcade Stage?
For those of you who don't know, it's an arcade racer based on the Initial D anime/manga. Really fun, especially the two-player battle system in Ver.2 and 3. Most Namco-owned arcades (Time Out and Aladdin's Castle) have either a Ver.2 or Ver.3 machine. (Initial D's 'versions' are basically like DDR's 'mixes' or IIDX's 'styles'. Just something to tack onto the sequel number.)
In a nutshell, you buy a card with a magnetic strip on it to save your records and data on it, so you can keep working on it the next time you play. And you pretty much need a card, as I doubt you have the attention span to beat all 29 progressively harder opponents in Legend of the Streets mode in one sitting. Plus Bunta Challenge mode requires a card to play.
My best card is a Subaru GC8V, full tuned, battle level 18. I play way too much. XD
And while I'm at it, anyone here a fan of the anime/manga? _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |

Ack, I don't play much but my friend plays a LOT...oh wellz...
I love the music from both the game and anime though (most of it is done by MOVE, one of my favorite J-Pop bands)
Anyone who's seen my AMV will know what I'm talking about (is referring to Gamble Rumble and Night of Fire) _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

I don't think any one artist makes up more than 15% of all songs ever used in Initial D anime, unless you count the menu music in the game, which was all done by Hideaki Kobayashi.
Still just a minor detail, though. Either way, Initial D has one of my favorite soundtracks EVER. To the point where I often sing along while I'm racing. Probably have that to thank for a few 2P battle victories, too, due to the weird looks I get. XD _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |

I love the Initial D music. @_@ Night Trip wins. I've played Version 1 like I said some time ago on IRC, but not enough to have been very familiar with the courses and such. I didn't like how everyone used the Trueno. |

Which Skyline do you have, BNR32 or BNR34? And which version? Cars' stats change a lot between versions. _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |

I have also never played the game before, but I have watched the first season of the anime. I'm also a big fan of the music.
Sad to say, but I think my dad know more about this anime than I do -_-;
Speaking of songs, does anyone know where the song "Pamela" comes from? |

Err... you still haven't told me which version you're talking about. So I'll just give you the stats for every version:
(Note: If there's no version number underneath the logo, you're playing Ver.1. First game in every series is always unnumbered. >_>)
Ver.1 (out of 25): 18th overall
Ver.2 (out of 31): 26th in Dry, 13th in Wet, 22nd overall.
Ver.3 (out of 35): 23rd in Dry, 8th in Wet, 5th in Snow, 10th overall
I can get into much more detailed statistics (its rank on each direction of each course in each weather condition, plus its best and worst courses), but then I'd fill entire PAGES with it. _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |
