Here is chapter twelve, but first I would like to explain something. I have a unique look on the world and I would prefer if it was kept as my point of view. In other wrods please don't steal my characters places or ideas. My characters may be used if you ask for them and I agree but if I catch someone stealing something I will shut this down and delete this fic from this site and never use the idea that person stole. I know its not common but if someone does I am very serious I will delete it, and no matter how much you hate me don't steal it for the sole purpose of having me delete it.
Anyway here is chapter 12 enjoy!
(I tried adding more insane jokes in this chapter like the one I revealed before)
Chapter 12: Resurrection
There is a special story that is very famous for one minor term, misinterpretation. This story is of the 99 red balloons. It happened long ago; two neighboring countries were at a temporary cease-fire. But as a peace offering one side decided to show the others a very large idea. But it was nearly impossible because of the wall separating the two sides. So they released 99 red balloons into the summer sky and they sang. The other side saw the balloons and took it as a declaration of war and so the war began again. This famous incident inspired a song known as the 99 red balloons, originally sung in German this famous song has lived on through other artists such as Goldfinger.
This very idea has been very troublesome and this story nearly forgotten but it remains just to let us know of human imperfection. Human imperfection was the reason Joey was not an exact carbon copy of Lan. This also is the reason behind the rather overused word: Evil.
If humans were perfect than there would be no war, no pain, no evil… no life.
Life, it is flawed. We live out our lives preparing for death and in death we prepare for life again. But in death we are happy, we take a physical and emotional vacation away from our imperfection and see the truth in the twilight.
Do you see how I changed topics so quickly? These are all related topics but seem different. This brings me to my next point, the world is not real. In the mind of mortals where we live and work is reality, but to the more open-minded immortals all realities are creations of a greater being and a creator of the greater being and the creator of the creator of the greater being and so on. In the eye of mortals we cannot see beyond what we believe which is rather logical. We can see what we believe is real, but if someone truly believed that something that was nonexistent was existent then it would be existent. But you can try to believe in what you think is impossible all you want your mind knows it is impossible and shuts out all hope of true belief. If you understood my meaning then you are smarter than I expected. Remember this for the future, it will be mentioned repeatedly.
“Is it over yet?” Lan asked impatiently. He and Joey were meditating to try and get in touch with their inner child.
“Lan if you keep saying that I’ll give you instructions to find your inner moron, you won’t like it. Did you ever watch who wants to be a millionaire Canadian edition?” Joey was implored to punch him but decided his character wouldn’t do that so he got some coffee in before the next take.
“You mean that one where that host said ‘If you had said A, you would have been wrong’?”
“Didn’t you ever wonder why it was cancelled so early? Me”
Lan shuddered and shut up, but not before convincing Joey to put on Mad Caddies for inspiration.
In the other room Mr. Famous and Dr. Hikari were examining Wind’s base data.
“Hmm interesting.” Mr. Famous spoke aloud.
“Mr. Famous get off that website!” Dr. Hikari yelled at him.
“Fine but did you know that that fight scene in The Matrix took place on the 42nd floor?” Dr. Hikari gave him a cold stare, he closed the website.
They stared blankly at the HTML code that held Wind together. Until they actually realized what they were looking at. They had forgotten that they were not looking at Megaman but Wind. The data was identical except for the color switch, the armlets and the sight. Mr. Famous was the first to comment.
“What the hell!”
“If this was any other navi I’d say something along the lines of ‘HOLY HELL!’ but I won’t” Dr. Hikari was a smart guy and was one of the only people to actually notice how similar Joey was to Lan.
“Hmm?” Mr. Famous had no idea what Dr. Hikari was thinking.
Dr. Hikari rolled his eyes and grabbed Joey’s PET that was lying on a table. He struggled with it so he called out to Joey.
“What do you have in this thing? Bricks?”
“Yes.” Joeys said tentatively.
“Who keeps bricks in their PET?”
“Apparently me!” Joey said, having just realized what he had been asked.
Dr. Hikari then saw that it was attached to the table, he released it and yelled to the heavens.
“SuperHikari AWAY!” he jumped through a nearby window.
“And his faithful sidekick Famouslad!” Mr. Famous followed suite.
Unfortunately, Joey did not try to stop the dynamic duo. If he had maybe he could have saved the world in time for lunch, or he could have destroyed it before afternoon tea. But he was to busy searching his mind for a clue on Maylu’s status. The only thing he had so far was she was not dead, if you die your body doesn’t follow you. They stopped doing that when a writer from England who was lying in a field drunk saw a guy floating in the air and decided to make a series called the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
But as Joey turned his attention to the stadium, he found a flicker of life. Maylu had reappeared at the stadium. Which brings me back to what I said at the beginning of the chapter. He believed that Maylu was there so completely, she was.
“How long has it been?” Maylu asked.
“Eleven minutes.” Amyl replied, looking at the pink watch on her left wrist. “Maylu, what are you waiting for?”
“I don’t know…” Maylu stared at the starry night sky and really focussed on this. In all honesty she was waiting to be returned to her life, to see Lan and Joey once again. But Roll was the most important. Without her Maylu was incomplete. She had learned earlier in the night that net navis walked the dead zone as if they were human. But Amyl’s navi was not here for her to meet. It was alive, she had left the PET there when she had died. She assumed she was probably a servant of Nebula.
In case this slipped your mind you have noticed how certain things are quite impossible due to previous events. But this is not a standard “who done it” kind of mystery. But rather a who done it, how they done it, what they done, who doesn’t know that they done it, and they done it because if they didn’t done it then the laws of grammar would still be intact. If you watch childish TV mysteries they all fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. But inside my complex mind I have placed deception, logic impossibilities and large quantities of mustard. I’ll get to the mustard later if you’re wondering why in hell someone with my expertise would misuse a word like mustard. But the real point here is that things that don’t make sense will be explained as two simple words that have saved this world over and over again. “I lied”.
At the end of the previous chapter the two “clones” came upon Hikari Saito. Amyl used him to show Maylu how close their worlds were. Maylu was convinced and left independently using the rings, she still didn’t know how to use them and ended up floating around a fishbowl in Rho. Amyl found her and explained that there was a barrier between the classifications of universes to stop wars from breaking out between them. The only reason Maylu could enter is because of the design of it. It was created to stop beings not on official business to enter others, therefore it wouldn’t let people who wanted to enter, enter. Maylu entered by accident and Amyl needed to get in to help Maylu. They left together and reconvened in the now dark and humid fields of Delta 02. There they counted the minutes before Maylu could be transported back to the world of the living.
Together they sat for-
“Fourteen minutes.”
Fourteen minutes for the expected to happen after you expect which was several hours before then making what the expected is to be less expected than you expected.
“You know Maylu,” Amyl said quietly, “you are quite remarkable.”
“How so?” Maylu asked suspiciously as though expecting a threat or proposition
“You have assimilated knowledge that took me years to learn in a matter of hours, but there is a catch to this… situation.” It took her a while to describe what Maylu was going through, Maylu understood right away.
“Either you can’t trust me with this information and you will blank out my memory or you will swear me to secrecy.”
Amyl marveled, she had been quick witted but never like this. Maylu was different than her in more ways than expected.
“I’d lean toward the second one but my doctor says that if I stretch too far my spinal cord will collapse.”
Maylu stared blankly at Amyl.
“A joke… Have you never heard a joke before?”
Maylu marveled, she had cracked the occasional pun but never made a large scale one that some people would say, “I can’t believe they went there”.
“So I have to keep this knowledge to myself?”
“Natch,”
“And I will live being the only human being on earth with infinite knowledge for my entire life.”
“Double natch.”
Maylu and Amyl stared at the night sky for several minutes in silence.
Millions of people in this world live out their insignificant lives as time supposedly passes. But consider my belief that time is nonexistent. Time is an invention of man to organize their day to day lives so that they can live them out without having the complication of time differences during different seasons. But all inventions of man are flawed, a light bulb makes more than ninety percent heat and less than ten percent light, flaw number one. Spacecrafts are not maneuverable enough in the harsh vacuum of space, flaw number two. Bagels have to be doused with mayonnaise to give them taste, flaw number three. Billions more await you if you want to try and prove me wrong. So you understand why I say this, in the dead zone the rules of time no longer apply so you can age as you want to, sleep as you want to and move freely throughout the infinite reaches of the universes of their classification.
I have stated earlier about my odd belief that if you truly believe something is real. But what if some people truly believe in something and others truly don’t. Take Santa Clause or as I like to call him Sanity Clause. Many believe that on December 25 he comes in his sleigh driven by flying reindeer, slips down peoples chimneys and throws presents under a tree decorated with glass balls and lights that if exposed to for too long will cause seizures. But others believe that when the children are put to bed their parents put presents under the tree and engorge themselves in stale milk and undercooked cookies. Think of it as though half of them are on one side of a purple line drawn with a permanent marker and the other half are on the other side. With this in mind think of it as a math problem, but way better, give them all guns! But the more they believe or the more they disbelieve increases the power and quality of the gun. Now turn off the safeties and let it rip, after the bloody massacre the remaining ones are the winners. According to my sources he actually doesn’t exist but it’s hard to tell who’s alive, who’s fatally wounded and who covered themselves in ketchup as a practical joke. So if you are arguing with your friend about whether Santa exists then maybe take a page out of Steven Hawking’s book and shut your damn mouth. Sorry that was off character, Steven Hawking is a well-respected cripple who is very smart, or so I’m told. I do not mean to offend anyone by saying that but I am making a point. War is a horrible thing, the people kill each other over a measly peace of land or something as insignificant as oil. But the main thing that makes war so horrible is that no wars are fought for peace, they are fought to win. This is human nature, not to better ourselves but to be better than others. This is the flaw that is us all.
Now comes the part that your not going to like, as I explained before time is non existent and therefore the dead are no longer bound to the burden of time. And so Amyl had her internal-clock set at the same speed of her world which was ahead of Maylu’s, and since Amyl was lending her body to Maylu, Maylu was on the same clock as Amyl. But since it was two years ahead Amyl had switched to Maylu’s world time. But what I was explaining about what was happening to Lan and Joey what I am explaining about Amyl and Maylu happened at the same time but I had to explain what happened so I altered the flow of time to explain it.
“The time is nigh.” Amyl said quietly to herself.
It was now a very cold night, the two were still lying in the grass though dedicated to be in the same position from which she had arrived. Amyl longed to teach Maylu the ancient art of astroprojection so she could at least see what was going on in the living world. But even Amyl was afraid to use it, afraid of what have changed since she left.
The concept of astroprojection is when the dead project themselves onto the world as invisible figures. Some even permanently live that way and scare the living for kicks, but others do it to keep a building or a favorite place from being lived in or demolished. Amyl refused to do it in fear that she might see that her best friend when she was living might still be a destructive force and she might never see them again.
When Amyl had sad that the time is nigh, she was referring to the portal which had opened in the sky. It was like an eye opening for the first time, it looked like a red moon. But all it did was continuously glow brighter or so Amyl thought. Maylu was being sucked into the void but not like a hull breach on a spaceship would, she just floated up to it. Maylu had been sleeping and did not notice the portal’s gentle embrace. But the thing that did wake her was the feeling of Joey’s dry callused fingers on the back of her neck. The feeling was as though Joey was carrying her to the red moon that loomed overhead. Maylu did not move she just let him carry her up to the moon.
But when the portal closed for a brief second Joey’s hard yet compassionate face appeared in the red moon.
Amyl recognized it and almost fainted, but she settled down to bed that night feeling that it was a hallucination.

Work on chapter 13 comes slowly but I will probably finish by the end of the week. But I have been rather distracted by the promise of Gundam SEED episodes every weekday. But more to the point, I have an idea for another fic. This one will not enter production until I finish posting this but I would like to run the idea past my readers. The fic will be titled MegaLan and the Dynamic Duo, it will be a short comedic fic about Lan permanently crossfusing and seeks assistance from the new super villan known as Dynamic Duo. The only reason he stoops to this level is because he doesn't know how to go to the bathroom like that. Probably a one chapter deal, but tell me if you'd read it would yah. I also added one word chapter titles to add a little bit of explanation before you read each chapter. |

I have decided to make this one short due to the joke at the end. I also posted this ahead of schedule, three days in fact. It may be late but I don't give a crap, here is chapter 13.
Chapter 13: Decision
Joey ran through the empty streets of Dentech with the feeling that if he ran faster, he could outrun his fears about what he might find. He increased his speed every time he had a bad thought about what he might find, but that was not enough to stop them entirely.
He arrived at the stadium tired and out of breath but he did not stop then. He ran all the way to the holographic image generator where he stood disappointedly. Maylu was not there, at least not yet. Joey stood there in the cold and dark room waiting for his friend to fall out of the sky. And yet, the strangest thing about that was that she did.
“Damn it Mega, I will not stay here!” Roll was screaming her head off at the blue navi inside sci-lab area.
“But Roll,” Megaman’s heart data was slowly dissolving but he disguised it well on the out side, “what if Maylu comes back?”
“I don’t care.” Roll said this without any heart, it was as though the Maylu she had once called her best friend was now just a fading memory.
“What will you do.”
“I will go to the source.” Roll had listened to Joey and Lan’s heartfilled conversation and immediately deduced that the same disease that plagued Joey had infected Maylu. The source of this would obviously be Nebula, but the real question was how would she do it.
“How will you do it?” See I told you that was the question.
Roll grinned, she was not facing Megaman but he could still sense her malcontent.
“I have my ways.” Roll then transported herself to the nearest BBS and began typing a message to everyone she could get hold of.
The message read:
Dear friends,
I must ask you for a favor, I need the able bodied navis to help me with a rather difficult task. You mustn’t ask what it is, but if you truly are my friends, you will aid me.
The message was received by many despite the alarming post topic: I owe you a lot more than one.
The further details revealed the time and location of a meeting between the few.
Megaman had explained to Lan the rather, complex, situation. Lan understood but did not truly understand, the words were there but the meaning was lost.
“Megaman, Roll left.” Lan stated without much concern.
“Yes.” Megaman was tired of trying to explain this and so he absent-mindedly began a game of solitaire.
“And you didn’t stop her.”
“Nope.”
“She is going after the source of all evil.”
“Yes.”
“Which is Nebula base.”
“Yes
“You don’t know how or why she is.”
“Yes.”
“But you let her anyway.”
“Yes.”
“Am I the coolest guy in existence.”
“Nope.”
“Damn, thought had you.”
“Lan, no matter how much I explain this you will not get it any more.” Megaman closed his game of solitaire and looked Lan in his large brown eyes.
“Nope.”
Joey felt the feeling of true justice, Maylu’s body slowly drifted down towards his outstretched arms. For a moment she floated above his hands thus allowing him a glance at Maylu’s true beauty. He indulged in it for the brief moment, but almost immediately after she fell down into his arms causing him to almost lose his balance. This stirred Maylu from her deep sleep.
For a moment she swam in his gentle embrace, but when he noticed that she was awake she jumped up and dusted herself off even though no dust was retained from the trip to the beyond.
The two tried very hard to say something but neither could say much about what had happened. Joey looked very hard at Maylu, but he felt his body temperature rise and saw that he was blushing.
Maylu saw his red face and she blushed herself. The moment was very awkward, both lost for words and both racing emotions. The silence was eventually broken by Joey and his very strange power of emotional control.
“So, how was your day?” |

It took a while, but I finished chapter 14. I tried to make it more serious but it just doesn't work.
Chapter 14: Conflict
Roll sighed, the time, the date, everything was set, yet no body came. She knew that none of her friends would follow her to death. Perhaps what she had in mind was not plausible, not even a whimper came through the server where Roll stood. A long time Roll has friends and a caring net-op. But now she had lost all that. Perhaps a better idea would be to meet in a more suitable, or just plain brighter area of the network. She waited for several hours for even a virus to enter the abandoned server. Finally she gave in and walked toward the nearest transporter pad. But oddly enough someone appeared there before she could enter it.
“G’day, mate!” A dark figure walked toward her. Roll back up so to get a better look at the figure, she was very surprised to see that it was Megaman.
“Mega?” She asked suspiciously.
“Not quite.” The navi walked into the light, revealing Megaman. But he was green.
“Who are you?” Roll stumbled backward at the odd sight.
“Don’t you recognize me?” The navi asked. He frowned and spoke again. “I suppose not.”
The odd green Megaman snapped his digital fingers and a small navi walked over to him and handed him two objects, he then shoved them onto his arms.
“How about now?” He asked. Roll shook her head. He began tweaking his programming and adding lines around his body, his backpack disappeared and a sight sprouted from his helmet.
“Wind?” Roll squinted at the green navi.
“Pixilated color dude.” Wind contorted his fingers into an odd shape that Roll had seen on a TV show about giant robots. “Rock on!”
“And Aquaman!” The small navi came into the light revealing Aquaman.
“Glyde here, and proud of it.” Glyde walked into the light sporting his fancy accent.
“Gutsman too, guts guts.” Gutsman rambled into the light walking on all fours like a monkey that likes saying “guts”.
“Numberman has entered the building!” Numberman discoed into the light with his flexible arms.
“Tomahawkman, ready to party.” Tomahawkman entered the light yada, yada.
“Napalmman, fired up and ready to go.”
“Protoman is on the prowl.”
“I think you mean Enzan.” Wind suggested.
“I think so too.” Protoman said.
“Medi, online.”
“Gyroman, just flew in.”
“Kingman ready for anything.”
“Shadowman will assist.”
“Toadman, RRIBIT!”
“Colonel is ready to serve.”
“Knightman, will protect.”
“Thunderman, at your service.”
“Searchman… What he said.”
“Who?” Numberman asked.
“The fat guy.”
“I am not!” Raoul interrupted.
“Wait, your net-ops too?” Roll asked rhetorically.
“What did you think.” Raoul asked Roll.
“Not much.” Raika interupted.
“Swish.” Searchman made a gesture like he was shooting a basketball.
“Hey Raika, if I had a dollar for every brain you didn’t have, I’d have one dollar!” Higsby yelled at Raika.
“Shut up.” Wind said this very quietly but everyone shut up anyway as not to incur his wrath. “You are all here to assist in a master plan.” He began pacing. “We are going to liberate-” He was interupted by Dingo.
“How about something a little jazzier.”
“Riiight,” Wind continued his speech. “We are going to OBLITERATE! Nebula turf.”
Dingo nodded approvingly.
“Roll, take it away.” Wind threw a cyber-microphone at Roll, she caught it and hesitantly sopke into it.
“My friends, we have been through bad and then we made it through worse but I ask just one more thing. Why the hell were you all so late?”
“I calculated how long it would take you to give up and go back, and planned our entrance accordingly. All for the sake of drama for our readers.” Wind explained.
“Ok then, HI MOM!”
“You don’t have a mom.”
“Oh shut up! Anyway we must destroy Toadman asked with his hand raised like a child answering a math problem.
“They well, it’s mostly for Maylu but I would say why else but their aim is kinda unclear, or just stupid and pointless.”
“So who among you will join our army?” Wind asked.
“I’ll help!” Glyde volunteered.
“Me too!” Medi stuck her hand up.
“Gyroman will assist!” Gyroman volunteered.
“I will as long as I get to blast the crap outa something.” Napalmman answered conditionally.
“That’s a given.” Wind answered.
“I’m in!” Tomahawkman yelled.
“I will save you all sometime and say that we are all volunteering.” Raika said as though he were bored, which he probably was.
“Don’t forget us!” The world three navis came behind them and volunteered.
“Great, you are all the fellowship of the ring, I mean the army of Roll!”
“Super.” Wackoman said happily. “…Where are we going?”
“Maylu?” Joey was walking along the dark and empty street with Maylu who had recently had the secrets of life the universe and everything revealed to her.
“Yes.” Maylu was rather bewildered by what had just come to pass.
“I have to ask you to do something, but no matter what you cannot tell anyone and you cannot deviate from it.” Joey hung his head as he said this.
“If it was yesterday I would probably have said no, but considering the circumstances, sure.” Maylu sounded happy but that was not at all what she would have said if she had known right then what she must do.”
“You cannot let Lan see you until the end of the tournament.”
“May I ask why?” Maylu walked up faster and started walking backward, trying to get a good look at Joey.
“You may not.” Joey raised his head, revealing an angst-ridden face that desperately did not want to say what it was. “But if you do I can tell you that you wont like it.”
Maylu was not convinced, she spent the rest of the walk in deep thought.
They finally arrived at Maylu’s house and Joey made his final statement.
“Maylu, I know you have no real reason to trust me but this is what you must do. If you truly value your life, you will not show up at the tournament tomorrow.”
Maylu watched him walk up the street and vanish into his home. When the final light turned off, Maylu grinned and went in.
“We strike at midnight, that is the change in the security system and they reset the password. You take out the guards and the Napalmman, Tomahawkman and I can blast the crap out of the security firewall.” Wind was explaining the battle plan to the group.
“I will head in first, I can take out one and while they investigate it you can delete the security navis.” Shadowman suggested.
“Good idea.” Roll agreed.
The army was all sitting around a table with the map of the area they were obliterating on it.
“Everyone has their assignments?” Wind asked. Everyone nodded. “Good then, we’ll reconvene at 11:00 tomorrow.”
Roll waited for everyone to jack out before she went to talk to Wind.
“How did you get here?”
“Hm?” Wind was about to leave when he noticed Roll.
“How, did you get here?” Roll blushed, it was rather difficult to talk directly to the person who saved your life and almost sacrificed their own in the process.
“I was being taken to Higsby’s so he could get a look at me. He did so and incidentally managed to alter my program, turning me into Megaman, the one thing he could not alter though was my color. I am not one to be stripped of my individuality and so I short circuited his terminal and escaped. They did not know that I had regained consciousness until I was already gone. I got Aquaman to steal the rest of my program which Higsby had inserted into my armlets. I arrived at the BBS, desperately seeking a hint about your whereabouts. I saw your note and did my thing.” Wind explained this incredibly calmly.
“Is there no permanent damage?”
“I can tell you I would have been deleted if not for Joey’s quick thinking.”
“How?”
“Didn’t you here about the chip that Dr. Hikari tripped over?”
“Yes, but that didn’t come from-wait…”
“It fell out of Joey’s PET, the chip is life aura. Higsby would go nuts if he knew that someone had left such a rare chip on the ground.” Wind laughed heartily, Roll tried to force herself but she could not. She had been responsible for the near deletion of this navi, and he laughed at the thought. Perhaps optimism did have its upside so she decided to lay back on the tears for a while. “Take care Roll!” he waved goodbye and jacked out.
Night quickly turned to day, no one slept through the sun opening its eyes to the world, flooding light through the city streets. The once quiet neighborhood became vibrant again and the tournament began again.
Lan walked out his door eagerly awaiting a new day, in his PET Megaman shared in the celebrations. Joey was also very happy at the dawn of a new day. Maylu however slept in that morning, no one really knew what she thought and no one really every found out what she was doing.
I think that there is something magical about dawn, the promise of a new day, not knowing what is coming but you welcome it with open arms anyway. Some people could say the same thing about the twilight before nightfall, but the truth is it is mostly the same thing, waiting for something random. These times are which people can see the world in a more optimistic light, I however prefer the sanctity of night.
Joey walked to the stadium first thing in the morning, he wanted to be the first to get there so that he could check the other teams ratings, these were the finals, you can’t enter them unprepared. He looked at the tapes of their previous battles, simple yet complete victories they had experienced. Joey was not surprised at the team, Chaud and Protoman, Pride and Knightman as well as Raika and Searchman. Their team was called Super Killer Pie; they got it from Dex who tried his best to make a good name out of the first letters of the navis names. His assessment was interupted by a soothing voice.
“Assessing the opponent hey?” It was Sal, her overwhelming good spirits was just what Joey needed.
“I figured-”
“That if you knew their battle strategy then you might be able to counteract it.” Sal laughed as Joey stared blankly at her. “All the smart ones do that, or the ones who think they are smart.”
“E-” Before Joey could say one syllable Sal interrupted him with exactly what he was going to say.
“Explain? Alright, they think that the more they know the better they can fight. But if you know what they do, they will catch on and counter your counter. But if you decide to fight conservatively then you can easily counter their strategy and be able to counter their counter, counter. It’s just a matter of scale.”
“How-”
“Do I know all this? I have done some battling in my days.”
“You think I don’t know that? Black Rose!”
“How do you know that?”
“Disguise is my middle name.”
“Really?”
“Yep, I am Joseph Disguise Garabaldi.”
“Sounds like a sandwich.”
“It really does.” Princess Pride emerged from the darkness.
“Pride, long time no see.” Joey walked up to Pride and gave her a very powerful hug. Pride recoiled and dusted herself off.
“Joey, you haven’t changed a bit. I hear you’re my oponent, I hope you brought some good chips. Do you still have that Megaman look alike navi?”
“Yes I am your opponent, I have good chips and my navi has not changed, has yours?”
“Nope, but now your PET is no longer your advantage.”
“Huh?” Sal seemed a bit confused at all of this.
“He had an advanced PET, it was supposedly a prototype.”
“When did you last come here?” Sal seemed even more confused than she was before.
“A few months ago, just a business trip.”
“Business trip?” Sal decided that the level of weird had passed the limit by quite a bit. She immediately left the premises, then she realized why she was there and ran all the way back.
“Ahem.” Chaud appeared from behind a pillar.
“Oh, hello Enzan… Chaud… Goober… CRAP!” Joey seemed to be having trouble getting the names together.
“Who is Chaud?” Chaud asked irritably.
“Wow that made a lot of sense.”
“Who said that?” Chaud looked at the above type. “Oh very clever Mr. Author man!”
Pride handed me five bucks.
“Oh, thanks!” Pride slapped me.
Several hours passed in anticipation for the big game, I mean match (damn it TSN). Lan eventually showed up, late as always. But Maylu didn’t appear as Joey thought that she would, perhaps he should have trusted her more thoroughly. The only reason he asked her to stay back at all was because he thought perhaps this Maylu was different and apparently she was, or was she?
“Yes, yes she was.” Brain walked by holding a martini. |

Chapter 15 everyone, hot off the keyboard. I finished this surprisingly quickly but it still took time. I'll get sixteen up soon I hope. This chapter kinda reminds me of Harry Potter, you can keep guessing who dies until the end. The title suggests as such.
Chapter 15: Deletion
Lan took his place at the netbattle machine and jacked Megaman in. He then glanced at the oponents. Chaud, Pride and no one, one of their battlers was missing. He looked around the crowded stadium, but he saw then that he had no idea who he was looking for.
“Um, Higsby!” He called out to Higsby who was standing on the platform a good ten meters away.
“Yes Lan!” Higsby called back.
“One of their battlers is missing!” Lan called out to Higsby again.
“What?”
“One of the their battlers is missing!”
“WHAT?”
“ONE OF THEIR BATTLERS IS MISSING!”
Higsby looked at a card in his hand and began to read off of the card in a poorly acted manner.
“Oh no, Raika has not shown up! We must cancel the show!”
“This is not a show!” Chaud called out. “And we can fight without him.”
“Alas, poor Raika is gone. I will now poor a very large bag of ice water over my head.” He did so.
“Fear not!” Raika came down on a backpack with propellers sticking out of it. He then took his place at the machine.
“Thanks Jack.” He whispered and passed five bucks to a redheaded guy with a pale face. He ripped the backpack off Raika and left.
“No problem.” He whispered back.
“Ok now that we have our Raika back, we can begin!” Higsby yelled.
There was a very long silence where everyone stared at Higsby.
“Oh right, GO!”
The battle commenced, this time Wind and Megaman stuck together. They held each other by the wrist and swung each other around knocking the enemies that came close. After a while though they gave up, Knightman started getting in the way so Searchman could shoot. Joey remembered the wise words of Sal. “They think that the more they know the better they can fight. But if you know what they do, they will catch on and counter your counter. But if you decide to fight conservatively then you can easily counter their strategy and be able to counter their counter, counter. It’s just a matter of scale.”
He then found the perfect way to counter their guard. He whispered the plan into Lans ear and he accepted.
“Gutssoul, navi chip in!” He slotted in the Gutssoul navi chip and put the plan into action.
Megaman used shockwave to stop Searchman or Protoman from interfering and Wind used an invisible chip. Megaman ran in circles, disorientating Knightman. After he lost all ability to dodge oncoming attacks, Megaman charged him. He ran right up to him but he didn’t attack, instead Wind disabled invisible and jumped up using Megaman’s shoulders as a trampoline. He them came down on Knightman with a very hard Coldpunch. Knightman lost all power and jacked out.
“One down, three to go.” Lan said confidently.
“Two!” Joey interrupted.
“Whatever!” Lan said irritably.
The battle continued, Mega and Wind tried using the same strategy on the others but they were smart enough not to fall for the same trick. When they used it on Protoman, he dodged the attack and Wind got a face full of Scopegun.
“We need a new tactic!” Lan yelled out.
“Gee, you think?” Joey retorted sarcastically. Yet again Joey came up with another plan and whispered it in Lan’s ear.
First, Megaman switched to Protosoul. Then he ran around aimlessly, drawing Searchman’s fire. He knocked Protoman over and charged at Searchman with Protosword in hand. He sliced vertically, Searchman jumped backward. He was about to fire but he heard a voice from behind him.
“We’re having a party.” Wind appeared behind him, but didn’t allow movement. He stabbed him viciously with a long sword. “Stick around.” He pulled it out again, causing Searchman to fall to the ground.
Searchman jacked out, barely alive Raika rushed him to sci-lab to get him repaired.
“One left.” Joey said without a trace of emotion.
“What shall we do?” Lan said following the act.
“Rush him!” They said together, they both smiled.
Lan gave Megaman an aquasword and Megaman rushed up to Protoman and started hacking away. Wind stayed where he was and closed his virtual eyelids. He raised his right arm and his armlets sprung to life like they did when he activated a buster. Only this time, it formed a hilt from which a green blade that was curved at the tip emerged. He opened his eyes, and it seemed as though as he did so, he was transported to Protoman. That point in time seemed to slow down as Protoman recoiled. Wind smiled and spoke softly to him.
“Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”
He did it again, he appeared right in front of him. He stared at Protoman and Protoman stared back. He pointed downward, toward Protoman’s stomach. Protoman looked in horror at the sword stuck in his gullet.
“Protoman!” Chaud yelled in horror as his navi began to degrade. Slowly, Protoman’s legs began to disappear and then it moved up, past his legs until his entire body was engulfed by darkness leaving only Wind, holding the sword of Justice. Lan spoke first.
“Wow, Déjà vu.” |

I am really zooming through this, I have chapter 16 here. Its sort of a showdown kinda deal. You can guess who wins until the end, the combatants? Joey and Lan, this time we're playing for all the marbles.
Can't we play for cake?
Shut up Mr. Hat
the next chapter will be much different, it will explain quite a bit. So keep an eye out for chapter 17: Assault.
Chapter 16: Hostility
“What have you done?” Chaud yelled out at Joey, tears flowing down his eyes.
“Easy, I deleted your navi.” Joey said calmly. He jacked Wind out and walked to the nearest terminal. He opened the file on the system that prevents deletion. He typed rapidly, rewriting the flawed system. He stopped abruptly and walked to Higsby. He whispered something in his ear.
“This will never happen again.”
Higsby stared at the boy as though he had no idea what in hell he was talking about. Joey walked back to the machine, but he walked to the one opposite Lan.
“Huh?” Lan watched Joey walk over there and wondered what he was doing. Chaud ran out of the building in disgust.
“Um, the winners are Team Soul Destroyer!” Higsby announced like a pancake would if it could talk. Half the people in the crowd clapped half-heartedly.
“But wait.” Higsby said as the crowd piled out. Joey mimicked exactly what he spoke under his breath. “We have the final battle to determine the true winner!”
“What is wrong with people!” Sal ran through the crowd looking dizzy.
“To decide the true winner, Lan and Joey must battle each other.” Higsby announced ignoring Sal’s off topic comment.
Lan was confused but he jacked in anyway. Megaman arrived there just to find that Wind was already there.
“I suppose that this is inevitable.” Megaman said trying to sound optimistic.
“I suppose so.” Wind concurred.
“Well then.”
“Don’t expect mercy.” Wind said distastefully.
“Never did.”
“Wonderful.”
“BEGIN!” Higsby yelled from his platform.
Megaman ran right and tried to get a few shots off with his Megabuster but Wind easily dodged it. Lan inserted a soul unison chip but Megaman wouldn’t accept it. He needed to be whole to fight a copy.
“Air sword, battle chip in!” Lan inserted the airsword into his PET.
Megaman opened the sword and sliced at Wind. But Wind leaned back like he was doing the limbo and let it pass over him. Megaman sliced vertically, he dodged left without even moving his feet. This continued, Wind dodging inconsistent attacks by Megaman.
“High cannon battlechip in!” Joey slotted in a high cannon.
Wind received it instantly, Megaman recoiled at the sight of it. He knew the damage from one shot would have been minimal but even so Wind knew Megaman’s battle strategies and that gave him a good idea of where to shoot. Wind shot Megaman in the shoulder, Mega wasn’t damaged but he did slide back slightly. That was a warning, Mega knew it but he had no way to know where Wind would shoot next. Lan did not take that chance, he needed to destroy him with one strike.
“Z saber battle chip in!”
Megaman opened the fine blade and rushed Wind, Wind aimed. Mega dodged left, but Wind moved with him and got a shot off. Mega took damage but was still ablt to strike horizontally with the powerful blade. Wind jumped over and landed on the fine blade. Mega looked up at him but saw him holding WindSaber to his neck. In a stroke of ferocity he swung the sword upward, and with it Wind. Wind landed gracefully a few feet away.
“We haven’t tried this one before!” Joey pointed out in a book.
“Your right.” Wind agreed.
“Program advance!” They yelled together.
“Spreader, Heat spreader, Bubble spreader battlechips in, triple download!” Joey slotted in the three chips.
“GigaDeath!” They yelled together!
“That sounds pleasant.” Lan said sarcastically.
Wind received a spreader and a heat spreader, he raised his hands and fused them with the bubblespreader. He aimed it at Megaman, but as he looked at Mega he saw that he was holding a High Zeta cannon.
The two of them stood there, waiting for the other to fire. Joey smiled, this had never happened to him before but he knew the outcome. GigaDeath was far more powerful than a high Zeta cannon. Even a Mega Zeta cannon would have been useless.
Mega stood there with his obsolete weapon, he knew he couldn’t win. But he was compelled to. The silence was ended by all the voices at once.
“FIRE!” Megaman, Lan, Wind and Joey all yelled at once.
Megaman and Wind fired their weapons. The shockwave of the colliding two powers caused the safety measures that Joey had installed to short circuit.
The two were seen on the display screen, both standing up right. Slowly one figure fell to the ground and the screen told the winner.
Winner, Megaman!
Megaman fell to the ground as well.
Lan and Joey jacked out the exhausted net navis.
Lan and Joey turned to the door, and saw someone standing there. For a moment time stopped, Joey yelled out but Lan saw it anyway.
Maylu stood at the door, she had an evil grin on her face.
But Lan’s eyes met hers, If only for a moment.
He disappeared. |

Either you posted in the wrong place or you skimmed and didn't see that his name is Joseph, shortened to Joey. His hair is brown and nearly black, I suppose nitpicks are expected, you find any more and post them here. I don't need perfection but I am prone to spelling errors. |

Ok then, I have the second last chapter here. The next chapter will conclude this fic. I have plans for a prequel to this that shows the original tale. And if you don't like my odd idea tell me and for you hawks, if you find plotholes notify me and I will fix them. The ending will be kinda dumb though and tell me if you don't like it improvement is necessary and inevitable. (also, I am going away in a week so don't expect it to be finished until late august)
Chapter 17: Assault
Lan was thrown back and forth through a swirling vortex of space and time. He thought he was going to be sick but when he stopped spinning he felt nothing. No pain, no temperature, no discomfort, and no nausea. He had lost all essence, all feeling, the feeling that he was no longer whole swept over the poor cowering figure of Lan Hikari. The first thing he did was open his eyes, but the darkness of his eyelids was the same as the darkness of the location he was in. But he saw something that was not also in his eyelids, a girl, running from him. He realized it, he was running, it was difficult to tell with no fatigue or change in temperature. He tried to call out to the girl but he couldn’t, he just watched himself chase the girl to a door with a large sign on the front. She entered it and shut it tight, Lan bashed himself against the wall against his better judgement. He finally cracked through it, shattering the lock and entering the room. The girl he was pursuing backed against a corner and dropped her PET, the girl was definitely Maylu. He walked toward her quivering body, he tried to stop himself but he had no self-control anymore. He caught a glimpse of his shadow on the wall, or where the shadow should have been. He was the shadow, he crawled along the wall like a spider edging closer to Maylu. He prayed for her safety but he could not do anything but watch himself lift her up by her neck. She struggled but hit only air while she struck his body, or the body he should have had. When she stopped moving he regained control. He stared at his hands that were stained with the blood from Maylu’s cut hands.
He heard a sound from another section of the room and saw another person standing and staring at Lan and the lifeless body of Maylu.
At once he was thrust back to reality, through the swirling vortex and into the well-lit stadium. His first sight was the caring face of Maylu staring back at him, he tried with all of his energy to retain consciousness so that he could drink in this moment for a longer period.
But he could not, he fell into Joey’s outstretched arms and drifted away. Joey layed him down and walked to a specific tile in the stadium and stared at his watch.
“Why have you not chewed me out for not staying home?” Maylu asked him cautiously. She was standing over Lan’s unconscious body.
“I knew you wouldn’t, I just thought maybe you were different.” He tapped his watch.
“What are you doing?”
Joey did not answer, he counted down with his fingers. 5… 4… 3… 2…1… He pointed at the roof. Right then, from the same section that he pointed at a very large saucer shaped hovercraft crashed through the roof. The debris came down from the roof and the crowd rushed around aimlessly. Joey stared at his watch and moved a few feet every few seconds, it was some strange happening that he was actually dodging them within ten one hundredths of a second. When the debris had all fallen to the stadium floor, the saucer opened a hatch and out walked the figure of Ms. Yuri. Joey called out for Mr. Famous to send a dimensional area. It arrived, much to Ms. Yuri’s delight, right while Maylu tried to carry Lan out of the building. She pushed Maylu aside and grabbed Lan and threw him into the saucer. Joey stood impatiently by a pillar. Ms. Yuri pushed a button on the mahine and a giant magnet came out and pulled Maylu’s synchro chip out of her pocket. Joey was unaffected, his PET was safely in his holder, the magnet was not powerful enough to pull it out. And his synchro chip was skillfully hidden in his shoe. Ms. Yuri pushed the button again and the very large magnet retracted.
Joey through his synchro chip into the air and held out his PET. The chip fell in his PET and crossfusion began. But ms. Yuri bit off the clip of a grenade and threw it at him with enough time to halt crossfusion. The legs and body come onto him, but he did not have time for the helmet and left Armlet. Minor things were also missing, the symbol was only half there, the lines along his body were not there and his right arm did not have substance on it. It was only his naked arm, he pushed the armlet higher up his wrist and attacked Ms. Yuri. He did not have full power but he could still counter Ms. Yuri who was a mere human. She did however board the saucer, she could not leave on it though. Joey punched a hole through it and rampaged through it to find the captive Lan Hikari. But a buster shot pushed him out of the now airborne hovercraft. He managed to grasp the hole he made but the navi who had shot him walked towards it. It was Megaman sporting an evil grin and a powerful arm mounted buster.
“Mega, you have been corrupted already?”
The navi snickered.
“Joseph, you are naïve as always.”
The navi morphed itself into the form of Rwind and created his Wind saber.
“Mirageman?”
“The very same.” The navi morphed itself again to another Megaman lookalike. This one was chrome, shiny chrome. The most reflective chrome that Joey had ever seen. But Joey had seen it before, he had seen this navi being corrupted. That was the standard form of it, it was actually Joey who had programmed the morphing ability.
“If I didn’t know better, I would say that you were still the same Mirageman.”
“But you don’t, I may look the same but I have long since been a darkloid.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You never will, you are no longer the only pan dimensional being. I still have my old heart so I cannot gut you, despite how much I want to. I will warn you though, your tricks are old. Until you think up something better than your basic ‘attack patterns’ you will never make it to the heart. You will never save them, you can’t!”
“But that doesn’t mean I won’t try.”
“Cliché alert.” Mirageman stamped on the fingers that held Joey on the hovercraft causing him to fall downward into the stadium.
He crashed to the ground with such tremendous force he lost consciousness. But he was able to speak one last sentence.
“Its here… The end of all things.”
“Wake up!” Maylu shook Joey awake.
“What time is it?” Joey sat up and checked his watch. 10:42, enough time to stop the attack. But then he thought. What if I let it happen? Maybe- wait! He had an idea. He got up and walked out of the building.
“Wait!” Maylu called out to him.
“What is it?” He asked halfheartedly.
“Don’t you want to know what happened?”
“I already know.” He continued his walk.
“How?”
“Maylu…” He was about to tell her to shut up but he stopped. Maybe she could help, he turned around and walked to her. “Do you want to know the truth?”
“Depends, will I like it?”
“Its rare for the truth to be pleasant.”
“Exactly what I thought, I wouldn’t want to hear a pleasant truth. I would have known you were making it up.”
“Just like the story I told you.”
“I knew it was fake. Your mouth says truth but your eyes say lie.”
“It appears I have underestimated you.”
“I have gained a lot of knowledge recently.” She walked past Joey with her eyes closed knowledgeably.
“From my dear departed friend?” Joey smirked. Maylu opened her eyes wide. “Yes I know about your little encounter with Amyl.”
“But how?”
“One cannot be a pan dimensional being if he doesn’t know what other dimensions another has been to.”
“What else do you know?” Maylu asked suspiciously.
“Sit down. I am going to tell you everything.”
“Stealing cheesy quotes from harry Potter will not help.” Maylu said quickly.
“Damn, but I suppose you are now no longer a mere mortal. It began two years ago. Amyl and I entered the N2 grand prix. We won easily, and then we had to fight each other. Amyl was a little more… Hard core than you are, I ended up winning. And then the saucer came down and brought me to Nebula HQ. I was tested on, the found a chemical equivalent to darkchips and injected it into my blood stream. Amyl however tracked me down and blasted the crap out of the building. That’s an understatement, she obliterated it! She tried to save me but me and my navi, Mirageman were corrupted and I in essence, murdered her.” He had gotten used to saying that after practicing for five tear filled hours.
“Wow, I wouldn’t say that that doesn’t make sense.” Maylu commented.
“By then the disease spread like wildfire.” Joey continued. “It had apparently was spread by eye contact. You see the world you see is just light reflected off objects and into your eye. But the disease traveled with the light when it connected with another eye. Whenever it got back to me, I went on a rampage again. I quarantined it but it remained in my body dormant. I then had a vision of death, very similar to yours. I learned the laws of the universe and came back. I used what I knew to create a portal into other universes.
“But… How?”
“I believed.”
Yep you know it, another lecture from me. This is where I was leading to from all my talk from previous chapters. Joey believed there was a way to travel between dimensions and when he believed there was, there was.
“From then I came to each universe six months before it happened and implanted my background. I socialized with people I knew from my universe and made a reputation as a great net savor. Then I came back six months later and prevented this from happening to them. The first was Delta 253, then Delta 176, Delta 394, my first failure. I learned then to improvise and not let the differences in a world throw you off.”
“Wow, what happened?”
“Dr. Regal’s head was four centimeters off target. I missed, and Regal stopped me from saving Ennet.”
“Ennet?”
“Name change… Anyway, Marisa died and I left immediately. I then saved Delta 385, by aiming from what I saw rather than what I thought. I managed to save Netto and Meiru, and now they barely care I existed.”
“That’s good?”
“Very. But this time they have found out how to cross dimensions. You have faced one Regal, imagine seven hundred… and four.”
“Holy-”
“Don’t I know it. I tell you this because I need you to help. Roll is waiting in this area, talk to her and tell her reinforcements are arriving.” Joey started to walk away.
“Joey!” He turned around. “I have a confession. I have been working with-”
Joey interrupted her with exactly what she was going to say.”
“The Darkloids to get you killed and out of here so that I can- oh its hard to say.”
“Be with Lan!” Maylu said courageously.
“Wow, I have never squeezed that out of a Maylu before.”
“You don’t exist in this world so hey!” Maylu and Joey got up and walked in opposite directions. But as they crossed paths Maylu remembered something. Every time she saw Joey, he had a lock of hair covering his left eye. Even in crossfusion and when he was imitating Lan he had it over his eye.
“What’s the deal-”
“With the eye?” Joey finished for her. “A piece of debris hit me in the eye that day, I lost vision an I have a nasty scar.” He pulled off the headband and pushed his hair back revealing a scar running down his forehead and through his eye. It wasn’t gruesome but odd, he did not bandage it or even attempt to cover it up with makeup. In all honesty he kept it as a reminder of the horrible things he has done.
Maylu left that night with a confidence that she had never known, if anyone could stop the end of all things, maybe he could.
Joey entered sci lab and walked to Mr. Famous.
“I need you to send a Trans-dimensional email. I will mail it you write it.”
“What’s the basis?”
“I am calling in a whole lot of favors.”
“would you like fries with that?” |

Sorry it took so long but I was on vacation for two weeks and it's really long but here is the comclusion to my fic. Look out for the sequel to this one called a mid summers nightmare look out for it. The end is a little open ended which is why you must read that one to really understand the end.
Sorry mods, I am reawakening this but I have good reason. I was gone for two weeks.
Chapter 18: Infiltration
“The universes all coincide but they are now threatening to converge.” Joey explained quickly.
“Joey, I was your friend through good and bad. But I still cannot trust you, you don’t even trust yourself.” Doug Alltami, he was a boy Joey’s age but a lot less angst ridden. His oddly shaped dirty blond hair raised just above his eyes, it gave him a way to look like he couldn’t care less even when something really horrible happened.
“Doug, I am no longer plagued by the disease.” Joey tried to explain. Doug etched into a smile with his eyes looking bored, it was an unrealistic collaboration of boredom and cruelty. “Its not to late to save the fabric of life.”
“But it is too late to save you.” Doug walked away.
Joey looked into his PET at the busy face of Wind.
“How many left?” He asked quietly.
“There would be one but Rosee was killed by a whaplode drove.”
“What?”
“A homicidal golf ball.”
“I knew I should have never downloaded ‘The Meaning of Liff’ into your program.”
“Don’t blame me for knowing uncommon slang.”
“I will anyway.”
Joey walked into a corner and held his hand into the air. Three rings came up from his feet and flew into the sky taking him with them.
Maylu mapped the area where Joey told her Roll would be. She found a large collaboration of navis she knew and leading them, Roll.
“Maylu?” Roll squinted at the viewscreen where Maylu’s face peered out at the army.
“In living colour.” Maylu winked at her.
“I think you mean color.”
“I am not an American.”
“That’s Maylu alright.”
“Maylu!” Yai yelled from her screen.
“Maylu!” Dex yelled.
“Maylu!” Pride yelled.
“Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, Maylu, and Maylu!” Raika said quickly. “Its incredible how much time you waste saying the same thing.”
“Raika is right, I have an important message from Joey.” Maylu said indignantly.
“Which is?” Raika used one hand to spin around, he supported his head on the other.
“Reinforcements are arriving.”
“Important huh?” Raika said sarcastically.
“I have a message from Mr. Joey to Mr. Raika.” Aquaman stepped into the light, this was odd because Aquaman was standing in the crowd. “Shut up.”
Hundreds of navis materialized in the area. But they were all the same navis that stood in the group. Leading them, was Wind.
“Wind?” Roll walked toward the navi. “Whats going on?”
“Isn’t it obvious? Pan dimensional rebellion!”
One navi stepped out from the others and spoke.
“I am Blues, I bring a message from my operator, Enzan-sama. ‘We must finish the mission as planned, but with a few changes.’” Blues stated clearly.
“As led by Roll 389, we will open the doors to Nebula base.” Rockman explained coming in from the group of Megas.
“But we will need strategy, luckily we have a plan as devised by Joseph.” One of the Searchmans came out and began a speech. “The plan goes as follows…”
The next few minutes were spent with searchman attempting to explain this to the rest. At midnight they struck.
Wind walked out of the darkness in front of the heavily guarded gates. But the guards had no time to react.
The frontline guards were Savagemans, Beastmans, clawmans etc, hundreds of them. In the darkness Wind put his hand up, several voices confirmed that they were ready.
“Tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, tar, target locked!”
The savagemans looked in the direction of the voices, only to all be obliterated by hundreds of scope gunshots. A flashman held up a brilliant hand, revealing a large collaboration of Searchmans holding smoking guns.
Wind raised his hand to the left, and hundreds of shurikens flew into the Bowlmans that were standing behind them.
Wind raised his hand to the right and hundreds of voices rained down. The most distinct one said.
“Rockbuster!”
Hundreds of shots again flew upon the burnermans, but they were prepared this time. They used burning jet to avoid stray shots and rushed toward the darkness.
Wind held both hands in the air and then shoved them down, hundreds of navis rushed in and blasted the crap out of the darkloids. Protomans sliced through the brightmans easily, knightmans royal wreckingballed the Bubblemans and Rolls whipped the Sparkmans into fine powder.
The battle was going as planned, a systematic attack would be the most effective with the least casualties. It was looking good so far, a few Rolls had been shocked beyond repair and the brightmans had been able to use their size to coax the Protomans into attacking each other. But for the most part they were winning beyond the anticipations of the darkloids.
Wind did however stop his analysis of the battle and entered it. He started with the Flashmans who were not being deleted as expected by the Shadowmans. With Wind saber in hand he sliced through the enemies like butter. He continued to fight unaware that the darkloids were mixing with the members of the army with the purpose of messing up the system.
When you see war on TV you think it is just a bunch of heroic people blasting the crap out of the enemy who is in essence “Evil”. But nothing could be farther from the truth, a war is fought because of a conflict of ideals. In Star Wars the fight against the Sith is of light vs. dark, but it is merely people who believe in a different way of life than the other. The Sith want all to be in union, all planets and races connected by a single ruler. Whist the Jedi wish equality while still retaining order and peace. If you pay attention, you see that they both want the same thing, but have separate ways of achieving their goals. In this war it is the people who want separate universes in which to live and everyone is unique rather than having many of the same person. They fight against the people who strive for a place for all to live in, or so the others thought. In most TV shows about war they go strait to fighting rather than hearing the others goals and compromising to an agreement that can be followed by both parties. Unfortunately that is not a plausible happening, people are so weak minded instead of seeing what is right in front of them, they take offence and strike in what they claim is an act of piece.
One party strikes another and they, in turn strike them back, then the first party strikes again at the second for striking it. How can piece be attained when we fight for petty revenge? No one in the darkloids, or in the army knew either sides true goals. That was the basis for the sneak attack. Which even you were not aware of previous to me telling you so. Relevant or not, you need to realize that war is a pathetic attempt to grasp the true meaning of superiority. The true thing I am trying to say is expressed in a much easier to understand form through the song one tin soldier. The story of the song is an army sought a treasure in a mountain guarded by a tribe, the army slaughtered them and found the treasure in a chest. But all that they found was a piece of paper that read “Peace on earth”. If you think I have gone overboard then contact me at 5-5-5-E-A-T-M-E.
Kinghtman:
I rushed through the crowd, a few darkloids jumped on me but I beat them off. I needed to find the lock and decipher it before the distraction fails.
A brightman jumped on my back, I shook him off and Royal-wreckingballed him. He was deleted instantly, I feel no sorrow for what I did. They were built to destroy, I merely made the world one misery smaller.
A Burnerman knocked me over, I got up and struck him with knightcrusher. But he dodged it, it hit a Roll instead. I ran over to her, but she was dead before I reached her. The pain of war is too much for me, I cannot stand by and kill people who have done nothing more than fight for what they believe is right. I jacked out in Misery, I met Pride and we both cried our troubles away. Yet we could not stop watching the battle from Prides PC. Hopelessly we stared as more navis fell for the cause they were not even sure they knew.
Thus ends the tale of Knightman.
Blues:
I sliced a hole through a Flashman that came my way. I care not what I kill, I do what Enzan-sama asks of me. I care not what feelings come through my head, I am merely a tool and as a tool I should not object to being used. Just as a hammer does not regret pounding a nail. More Darkloids crossed my path, I deleted them in the way that Enzan-sama commanded me. I watched these fowl Darkloids delete countless fighting navis. Some I see deleted were close friends of Enzan-sama’s and mine. If he is not affected, I am not either. Reasonable or not, this is my belief. Blues, out.
Tomahawkman:
Another Darkloid fell at the hands of my blade. They were weak, I could have killed them all my self if I felt it necessary. But Dingo advised me to keep in a specific pattern so I did not harm my fellow navis. The last thing I wanted to do is disobey him, but I felt useless when I was not part of the main fight.
I watched many Darkloids come after me, but I didn’t care. My mind was on other things. Other Tomahawkmans were fighting in the same fashion I was. I assumed that their operators thought for the most part in the same way. Napalmans also fought from far away because they were too powerful up close, a threat to the others and to themselves. We navis are our own people but we do not like to be left out. I worked my way back in, I fought with all my strength until I accidentally hit one of the Megamans. He screamed at me and then pushed me, his arm was no longer there but he still fought. I used this encouragement to destroy half of the lock system. I was forced to jack out because of a strike to the back. This is the story of Tomahawkman, it wasn’t pretty but it’s the truth.
Searchman:
Is it really this easy? I shot the darkloids one at a time as they rushed at me. It was very simple. I target, aim, and fire, target, aim, and fire. Over and over again, many a Darkloid fell at my hand, I have regrets but I keep them to myself. I am loyal to Laika until the last degree. I blocked out the voices in my head so that I could increase working efficiency. Laika says nothing, but he does give me a small hint of a smile. If Laika smiles you have either done something really embarrassing or you have pleased him very well. I knew that my pants could not be down because I had no pants and so I took comfort in the thought that I had pleased Laika. I did what I could but what is done is done, I Searchman fought bravely in a war against a pathetic enemy. I do not call it a victory but a fairly elaborate training session. This is my story as I tell it, Searchman, logging out.
Rockman:
I can fight by myself but Netto-kun was a very large asset to the fight. His very large variety of battlechips saved me, Rockbuster alone was not enough to delete navis like the others weapons. I still feel dwarfed by how powerful they are without having to use battlechips. I tried to keep my mind on the battle, but I felt the need to protect Roll. She was not helpless but was not the best netbattler either. On several times during the battle she was the one who saved my ass. I wish I could silence my emotions like Wind and Joey can. Unfortunately I could not learn while fighting. I tried my best to make it to the door but I could not. I was stuck fighting an inevitable battle. Rockmans fight as told by me, it’s not perfect but it’s all I got.
Roll:
I had Maylu back but I was still not convinced that all was well. I fought only half-heartedly, hoping that the fault in my skills would cause Maylu to lash out. Maylu normally wouldn’t do that, that is why I needed her to. I needed proof that she was not really on our side. I found nothing but dead ends on the psychological point of view. Her battle strategies were the same, nothing was out of place but I was still not content. Although I lead the battle I did not fight as well as I could even though I destroyed more Darkloids than any other Roll. Although I was still confused I found it in myself to lead us to victory.
Wind:
I still have my doubts about this battle, I will continue to fight for Joey. I probably know more than the rest of them, but I cannot tell them. If they learn about the plan they might try to become involved in it. The horrible truth is that every member of this army is expendable. Joseph what are you thinking? I know he is trying to counter what he thought that Regal is doing but how does he know what he is doing? I fight without flaw but I am still troubled by the rest of them. None of them have as much experience or power. But if they truly believe they will, then they will. Its not over yet and I will cling onto that until the battle reaches the end. For now I will ponder the question that only an individual can answer, at the end of all things, where will you be? My answer is as complicated as anyone else’s but I still have the superior knowledge. I know where I will be, do you?
This was here to show you that they were not all mindless drones, but individuals who spent this battle fighting not only the darkloids, but themselves. These few felt individual things that were different from the others. Knightman felt shame, Blues felt nothing, Tomahawkman felt inspiration, Searchman felt pride and lyalty, Roll felt suspicion, and Wind felt confusion. Yet the Darkloids were so diluted, they didn’t care what they were fighting for, they just wanted to kill.
Perhaps you noticed how they were all past tense except for Wind. There is a very simeple reason, but that will not be revealed until the end. By then it will be obvious to the person who remembers this passage.
“Where are we going?” Maylu panted, they were climbing up a very large steal wall that had no footholds.
“Direction is irrelevant.” Joey stated clearly without even looking at Maylu. Maylu chose to ignore the fact that Joey was becoming more and more like a Borg.
“I am just making conversation, you need to lighten up.” Maylu struggled to grasp a small don’t in the steal.
“You know very little about the consequences of having all the universes united.” Joey wasn’t having nearly as much trouble but he seemed to be dragging behind so he did not leave Maylu behind.
“Well then, enlighten me.” Maylu was trying, and failing to be cheerful. Instead she was getting angrier and angrier at Joey.
“If everyone in all the universes was here, Regal could launch a nuclear strike against the entire world, nullifying all existence.” Joey seemed to have maxed out in depression there.
“Could you be, any more depressing?”
“I don’t think so… Mathew.” Joey cracked a small smile.
“I am going to choose to ignore that.” Maylu cracked.
The next few minutes were spent in silence, Maylu kept trying to be optimistic but she had nothing left to go on. The room was so dark she didn’t even know how much further it was to the top. Joey apparently did, he kept edging in one direction and Maylu followed. He checked his watch over and over again, he had a GPS installed in it and he occasionally checked the altitude. Maylu’s now callused hands were now becoming sore and itchy. She rubbed them on the metal to relieve it, but when she did, she fell. Joey however held on to the wall with one hand and clutched Maylu’s with the other. He pulled her up with his one hand skillfully, Maylu marveled at his strength. He could life Maylu with one hand. That would have taken some time to build up that kind of muscle. But she had somehow gained the need to better herself, so she climbed faster.
“You know Maylu, you really are quite remarlable. Has anyone ever told you that?”
“Yes actually.” She thought back to her chat with Amyl, she had said the same thing, nearly word for word to her back in the dead zone.
Joey checked his watch again, he moved his hand up to a very precise area and attempted to rest it there. But he hit just metal, which caused him to lose balance. He was going to fall but something snagged his ankle. He looked up only to see Doug Alltami standing above him. Doug pulled him and Maylu up and spoke briefly.
“I cannot just let you do this on your own, so I stayed up all night fixing this.” He handed an odd looking PET over to Joey.
“I made some minor modifications, but it is still exactly what you designed.”
Joey examined the PET, it was of his design. It was a lot like the Auto PET, the bottom folded out to reveal a keyboard. Both sides had retractable holds on them, on also had a trigger on it. Instead of firing a beam, it shot a cable. Two of them were in it in case of having multiple navis. He had also had a way of adapting the cables so they could be used as a grappling hook.
“Its good to have you back Doug.” Joey said happily, he hugged Doug. “Oh right.” He turned to Maylu. “Maylu this is Doug Altami, he is well somewhat the opposite of Chaud.”
“I have a different father.” He said happily with his eyes closed in an expression that somehow said he was trying desperately to laugh. He shook Maylu’s hand quickly and strongly.
“I really see what you mean.” Maylu said in a vague attempt at a laugh.
Joey and Doug walked away quickly, Maylu ran to catch up.
“Hey wait!” She yelled at the pair.
“For what?” Joey asked irritably.
“Me.”
“Who?”
“I didn’t know you knew how to make a joke Locutis.”
“Lots of people don’t.” Doug stepped in while staring at the roof of the facility that kept repeating. “Remember the time you reverted to soul sucker-”
“Destroyer!” Joey corrected angrily.
“Right, remember when it happened when you were working at WacDonalds…
‘I NEED SOULS!’
‘Sure you need souls but I need a coke!’
‘Souls!’
‘Coke!’
‘Souls’
‘Coke’
‘Coke?’
‘Oh, and a large fries please.’
‘SOULS!’
‘That’s it I’m going to Burger King.’”
“How could I forget?”
“You know, after that incident they changed their slogan to ‘buh, buh, buh, buh, buh your fly’s undone.”
“Wait, this ‘reversion’ thing has happened before?” Maylu interrupted.
“No shit sherlock.” Doug retorted.
“Don’t be rude to Maylu.” Joey shot him a dirty look, it was dirty enough to clog a bath tub.
“I know, I am sorry, really I am, I miss Amyl and these other versions can never replace her.” Doug hung his head and clutched the PET in his holder.
“I know exactly what you mean.” Joey now was staring at the ceiling, Doug at the ground and Maylu at the two crackpots who had very short attention spans.
“Is your navi your version of Protoman?” Maylu asked Doug who clutched his PET strongly.
“God no, he was deleted years ago. I now have, well see for yourself.” He pulled out his PET, Joey hid his eyes and Maylu stared open-eyed.
“I am too afraid to see if he picked another crackpot navi.” Joey stuttered.
“S-s-s-s-s-s-s!” Maylu tried to say but she couldn’t get it out.
“Soupman? I had a bad experience with his Alfredo.”
“No, st-st-st-st-st!”
“Stupidman? Not him again, remember when we went on Leno…
‘So what are you guys doing in L.A.?’
‘Looking for an evil maniac.’
‘And what’s the deal with airline food?’” Joey shuddered.
“STARMAN!” Maylu pushed it out way to loudly, the alarm went off and the security cameras tilted to their position.
“Nice.”
Beastman appeared in front of them, Joey responded by instinct and slotted in his synchro chip. But surprisingly nothing happened.
“What the hell?”
Beastman struck at Joey, but he easily dodged out of the way without even looking away from his PET screen.
“What is happening, why is he here but we can’t crossfuse?” Doug had slotted in a synchro chip as well but nothing was happening.
“Because he is actually here.” Joey held up his hand and disappeared with the rings.
“What the hell is he doing?” Maylu asked while attempting to climb up a pipe to dodge the assaulting Beastman.
“I have no idea, but be glad there is only one Beastman.” Doug held up his PET, Maylu now could now see that it was Joey’s design but it was orange with black instead of different shades of the same color. He fired a cable out of it, it latched to the ceiling and it lifted him above Beastman. Beastman ran right under him and into a vat of ‘liquid-hot magma’.
“What the hell was that magma doing there?”
“Plot device Mr. Frodo, plot device.”
“Mr. Frodo?”
“You are seriously not very well read.”
“Lord of the rings right?”
“Correct.”
“So where is Joey with his radically elaborate explanation for the odd happenings?”
“Right here.” Joey appeared behind them, but to their surprise he was crossfused.
“So how are you going to explain that one?”
“Fine, let’s say you are on the toilet and you transport to another universe. You don’t take the toilet or the shit with you.”
“Yes, and…”
“If you are in a dimensional area and you transport while crossfused you don’t take the area with you.”
“Makes sense… ok not really… ok I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.”
“It really doesn’t have to, Doug do the same and then we can head deeper into this place.”
“Can do.” Doug left, it probably took so long because of the aggravating crossfusion sequence.
Maylu examined Joey, his crossfusion had changed with the PET. The differences were slight and subtle but she still had no explanation for why the hell that would happen.
Doug reappeared in a dimensional area, Darkloids were appearing by the truckload and shipping off to Delta 389 as part of some elaborate plan that has absolutely no purpose or reason.
“Better make this quick. Synchro chip, slot in, CROSSFUSION!”
He went back, only to meet a direct attack from hundreds of Beastmans. He was getting tired of all these copies and decided to end it quick.
“Doug, you’re back!”
“How observant Joey, but I have more to do then make clever sarcastic remarks about your short attention span or those fangirls who stare at Enzan’s ass. We need some ultimate power, something undefeated.”
“Any ideas?” Doug loaded a sword and held off a Beastman.
“None comes to mind.” He struck him in the stomach and remembered something. “Wait, these new PETs can hold up to 15 battlechips right?”
“Correct.”
“Then chances are you have a certain three chips?” Joey immediately knew what to do.
“Fireblade battlechip in!” Doug yelled out.
“Aquablade battlechip in!” Joey yelled out.
“Elecblade battlechip in!” They both yelled out. “DOUBLE LIFEBLADE!”
The two threw incredibly powerful blades along the thin corridor packed with Beastmans. With the open space, Joey grabbed Maylu and the three of them dashed down the hallway and to the door to operations lab. But they arrived too late, the door closed before they could slide in. They terminated their crossfusions and pouted to each other.
“Shit and airports! We need to get inside!” Joey pounded on the door.
“Um, I-” Maylu started but Doug interupted.
“It must be four feet thick!”
“Yes, but-” She was interrupted again this time by Joey
“What we need is a giant chainsaw.”
“No, what we-” Interupted again by Doug.
“Meijin-san always has one somewhere.”
“Not made of diamond he doesn’t, this wall is made of reinforced titanium alloy.”
“Or we could jack in and open it by remote.” Maylu suggested casually.
“Why didn’t you mention that before?”
“I DID!”
“Well, Doug this is it. You sure you trust me?” Joey looked into Doug’s blue eyes.
“I sure hope I do.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
“Subconsciously I might still not completely trust you, no matter how much I want to.”
“Then let us hope.”
“For what?”
“That Dr. Regal makes good potato salad.”
“…”
“Shall we get on with it then?” Maylu asked tentatively.
“Sounds good to me.” Joey said with a determined look in his face. “Enter, Wind, CONNECTION!” He pushed the trigger and the plug shot out into the port.
“Jack in, Roll, POWER UP!” Maylu jacked Roll in, she had just arrived from the battle. Maylu was actually surprised she was alive.
“Plug in, Starman, TRANSMISSION!”
Inside the server there is the activation system, guarding the system are hundreds of thousands of left over navis from the battle. Wind and Starman arrived back to back in the center of it. The Darkloids backed up and prepared for a short battle.
“Two against ten thousand.” Wind had a grim smile on his face.
“I like those odds.” Starman grinned as well.
Wind ran over to the first group so fast that it seemed as though he just transported there his Wind Saber was facing outward as though he had just slashed, apparently he had because they all disappeared. Starman appeared beside the group and shot a Star arrow right through them all, instantly killing them. Thus the battle began, the army ran after them. Shoving attack after attack in their direction, Joey and Doug shoved in chips so fast that they pulled program advances out without realizing it.
Roll however was at the activation system, she activated it and the door opened. But the army noticed and ran after her.
“Damn it they noticed!” Wind yelled.
“Battle chip, Area steal, slot in!” Joey and Doug said together as they slotted in the chips.
Wind and Starman landed in front of Roll, the army saw them and stopped. Wind held his sword in a ready position and Starman brandished his Bow.
“The door will only stay open as long as we defend the system, I hope you can finished your business before we die!” Wind yelled up at Joey.
“We can.” Joey told Wind. “Don’t die.”
Joey and Doug disconnected from the machine and they trudged in. Maylu ran after them.
The room was but a large platform with a chair on it and a steep ramp that connected the rest of the room. The biggest shock was the pink wallpaper and the Star Wars memorabilia. But no one really noticed that right away because of the sideways refrigerator right beside the chair. It was opened and there was a person rummaging through it wearing a pink bathrobe. He closed the door and looked over at the three open-mouthed children.
“Oh hello.”
“Who in hell are you?” Joey asked the strange man.
“I’m Edwardo, Edwardo Regal.”
“What the hell?”
“Enwardo are you annoying my guests again?” Another man walked into the room this one looked more like Regal.
“No, Larry.” Enwardo moped over to a corner and ate the cake he had snatched from the fridge.
“Regal I didn’t know you had a brother.” Doug said with a strange half-confused sarcasm.
“I don’t, he is from a different universe, what universe again?”
“73 you pompous bastard!” Edwardo called from the corner, it seemed odd that people who are the same… person could be so damn different.
“Right, right. Well, my mother adopted me and there were a few hundred others there and she had a hard time deciding.”
“Beam, me up, Wiley.” Another man walked into the room sporting a very strange accent that caused him to over exaggerate and have, odd pauses, during speech.
“And that is Will, he is kind of psycho.”
“Lan, I am your fathers, mothers, uncles, grandsons, cousins, uncles, brothers yellow sweater!” Another
“And what does that make you and Lan?”
“100% real cotton.”
“Ok then Darth.”
“Darth Regal?” Joey laughed, Star Wars is a shared fandom but Joey was a little too much into it.
At once he stopped laughing, Hundreds of Regals dashed into the room and stood in the surprisingly large space behind the chair.
“Holy hell.” Doug said simply.
“Now down to business.” Regal said cheerily.
“Why do you want to eliminate the entire human race?” Joey asked subtly.
“Hmm? I don’t want to destroy the human race.”
“Then why the hell are you uniting the universes?”
“The who is in the what now?”
“You united the universes by opening the gateway, soon they will swarm in here and then you were going to bomb the crap out of them.”
“That was my plan!” A guy from the crowd yelled.
“Shut up Adolf!” Regal yelled at him. “We just wanted to kill you.”
“Why the hell would you do that?”
“Absolutely no reason at all.”
“What the fuck?” Doug swore at the insane Regal family.
“Haven’t you ever noticed that the antagonist in most shows like this have no motivation for whatever the crap they are doing.”
“I have, frequently. But that is not the point. You assemble a net navi army and then fail when you could have just hired an assassin or something?”
“We hired Bill Bixby but he only works well when he is sober and well, he found the open bar.”
He pointed to a guy sitting at a bar chugging what looked like rum.
“You’re making me angry, you wont like me when I’m angry!” He stumbled out.
“I don’t like you anyway.” Joy yelled at him.
“Well, now I’m afraid it’s time for you to die!” He pressed a button on the chair, and a waiter came in with a red bull.
“Why do you always press the same button?”
“Technically only one works and Jeeves here brings me a red bull, natures way of saying ‘eat me’.”
“Huh?”
“The rest is controlled by James Doohen over here.”
“Aye, aye captain.” James Doohen spoke with a Scottish accent. He pressed several buttons and several turrets came out of the ground. Doug and Joey jumped around but Maylu stood still and the turret turned slowly toward her. Joey saw it and rushed over there and pushed her out of the way, this action incidentally caused the gunfire to hit Joey squarely in the chest.
For no apparent reason the gunfire ceased and Doug and Maylu ran over to Joey. He lay on the ground clutching his chest and whimpering.
“Are you alright?” Maylu yelled at him.
“What the fuck are you on?” Joey asked her sarcastically and irritably at the same time. He was in dreadful pain but he got up slowly clutching his wound.
He stared angrily at Regal.
“Is that all you have got you bastard?”
“No, Scotty release the mettaur.” Regal told James without even caring what the hell was going on.
“For the last time I ain’t Scotty, I’m James Doohen!”
“Shut up and do it Scotty.”
“Aye, aye captain.” James said half-heartedly. He pressed another button and one small mettaur appeared before them with its small pick.
“What the hell is this?” Doug said, annoyed as he walked up to the mettaur.
The small mettaur etched it’s non-exitent mouth into a twisted smile. It smacked Doug over with it. HE dropped his PET and lay sprawled across the floor. The mettaur then made a shockwave which ran over his body and slicing up his abdomen.
“DOUG!” Joey yelled, at the end of his yell he felt the pain increase. He fell to the ground in pain.
The mettaur struck again aiming at Joey, Maylu ran in front and tried to block it with her body. She closed her eyes and waited for her body to be sliced apart. But to her surprise, Joey defended her with a sheet of metal. It worked for a while until the tilt to one side became too much and the sheet flew away from him, waking his arm with him.
His arm was not detached but it was broken. Now all he could do was lay there motionless, Maylu checked his pulse to make sure he was alive.
“Joey, wake up! You won’t die here!” She yelled at him desperately. “You can’t, you just can’t.” She lowered her voice to a dull sad whimper. Tears flowed from her eyes, his pulse slowed down. She knew that he wouldn’t survive much longer.
The Mettaur attacked again, she saw it out of the corner of her eye.
“If we die, we die together!” Maylu said loudly, she was scared but she clung to his unconscious body. “I stay because I love you!” She kissed him passionately.
“No, you don’t.” Joey opened his eyes and pushed her out of the way of the attack. He got up and limped toward Regal, he held his broken arm and blood dripped from his chest.
He grabbed the mettaur’s pick and slashed Regal’s head with it. Blood squirted through his skull and his brain was exposed to the poor lighting of the room. The other Regal’s had retreated long before.
“Maylu.” He called to her before he collapsed on the ground soaked with both his and Regal’s blood. Maylu ran over to him.
“What?” She stroked his hand and spoke softly.
“Take my PET and press the symbol.”
“What will it do?”
“Erasure-” Joey’s soul faded into the darkness.
Maylu cried all over his lifeless body. She spent five minutes grieving before she remembered his instructions.
“Erasure.” The word ran through her mind as she grabbed the PET in her shaking hands.
“JOSEPH!” She yelled as she slammed her hand on the button.
At once she felt the world around her change, Regal’s blood flew back into his head and Joey got up and walked backwards around the room. It was as though the world was in reverse. But a barrier was created around her caused by the PET. She watched everything that had happened to her disappear until she saw the plug-in PET lying on the sidewalk. Then she felt all of what had just happened to her disappear.
She woke up in her bed and looked around, it seemed as though she had just had a very strange nightmare. But it was blurry now and all she could remember was she was weeping but she couldn’t remember why. Then the word erasure erupted into her mind. She got up out of bed when she realized she was holding a very strange PET. She threw it into a drawer and walked out the door.
She met Lan across the street, for some reason she expected him to be evil. She ran over and hugged him.
“Maylu, I had the strangest dream last night.” Lan and Maylu strolled through Dentech Park.
“Really? So did I.”
“Mine was about a boy, he looked just like me. His name was Joseph Garabaldi, he saved my life. The rest was a blur but the word erasure is running through my head.”
Maylu stared at the air in front of her.
“Hi guys.” Chaud walked up to them in an unusually cheery attitude.
Maylu ripped his PET out of his PET and stared at the navi inside.
“Protoman, you are alive?” Maylu asked with a surprised tone.
“No shit Sherlock.” Protoman said irritably to Maylu.
“Protoman!” Chaud yelled at him.
“Sorry, I am a little on edge since Chaud had the dream abut the Lan look-alike killing me. I think it might be a premonition.”
Joey awoke and looked around, he was in the strangest place. For some reason it reminded him of Dun Loreag from .Hack//SIGN.
He stared at a figure beneath a tree. He recognized her immediately.
“Amyl?” He asked blankly.
“Howdy stranger.”
Maylu knew it was impossible for three people to share the same dream. She arranged a funeral for the mysterious boy. In the grave she put the mysterious PET, it had no navi but it did have a strange symbol. She guessed it was his, everyday she came and stared at it. She had a connection to the guy.
She sat down beside the grave, unaware of the girl watching her from the bushes. Maylu stared at the poem that she had written for him.
Joseph Garabaldi
Neither information nor body was found,
But we know he existed to this we are bound.
“Who were you?” She asked the empty grave.
“Maylu!” Lan yelled at her from across the park.
Maylu ran over to him.
“What do you want to do, it’s the end of school for the summer.” Lan said happily.
“Lets go somewhere.” Maylu leaned her head onto his shoulder. She could tell Lan was a little freaked out.
“Where?”
“Anywhere.”
