Stream #44 - Summer! The Sea! Training Camp! (SPOILERS)

[Crimson Seiko]

I warn you now. This episode does not make sense. At all. Even less that I don't speak Japanese. So bare with me... this episode is friggin weird, and a bit perverted. (I'm not making any of the following up; I swear.)

The episode begins with Netto and Yuuichirou packing their things for the beach. Haruka is sad that she's getting left behind. (Whoa. I was just kidding about her not getting invited... but they really didn't invite her!)

*episode title*

Sunny beach. Dingo and Netto jump off of a cliff into the water. Charlie is seen riding by, windsailing, with a random girl as Dingo and Netto emerge from the water. Jasmine and Meiru shout on the beach, standing beside Rush. (Every girl that wears a swimsuit in this episode is given a full-body shot, from feet to head, with glittery and shimmering lighting effects.)

So, full-body Meiru and full-body Jasmine... and then full-body Rush, for the hell of it. Netto waves back to them as Charlie rides back in the opposite direction with a different girl. (Heh.)

Meanwhile, Nenji is buried in the sand.

Jasmine, Meiru, Netto, and Dingo all start knocking around a beach ball (designed to look like a watermelon) in the water. (Commense balloon-sized ass-shot of Meiru.) They knock the ball over to Nenji and ask him to throw it back over, but he's sorta tied up at the moment (being buried and all).

Meiru grabs Netto's hand and pulls him away for something. Charlie is seen flying in the background on a parachute with a different random girl.

Netto, Jasmine, and Meiru's PETs are all sitting on a table as Rockman, Medi, and Roll talk through the little holographic screens. I believe Rockman and Medi say something about going to Internet City, and Roll gets jealous, but then Rockman invites her too.

Meanwhile, Meijin and Yuuichirou are sitting under a beach umbrella, both still in their lab coats (though they have swimming trunks on underneath). Meijin is a little uncomfortable with the purpose of this beach getaway, but Yuuichirou is relaxing away. He presses a key on his laptop.

Then Rush takes a bite of his ice cream and apparently gets brain freeze.

Then everyone notices a big plane approaching the beach from the distance. It lands in the water and outsteps Pride (still in her EXE5 clothes). She waves to Netto and flirts a bit, and they say something about Enzan and Laika (I assume about how they couldn't make it), and then in classic anime "rip-off-your-clothes-in-one-swipe" style, she's in her bathing suit. Full-body shot as Netto, Meiru, and Jasmine note how cool she looks. (Dingo, for some reason, is blowing bubbles in the water.)

She dives in. Charlie water-skis by with another random girl as Netto and Pride begin swim-racing. Suddenly, a giant mecha swims by in the background. It's actually Yaito's mansion (when it transformed WAY back in EXE 52). Yep. She brought her entire mansion to the beach. Yaito and her maids go down to the beach and she changes. Full-body shot.

Meijin and Yuuichirou, now rubbing sun-tan lotion on his arms, talk again... Meijin still confused about everything. Yuuichirou hits another key on his laptop and hands Meijin the lotion.

Meanwhile...

Jasmine and Netto are sitting together in front of the ocean, and Jasmine hands him a shell. Meiru, watching from afar, is a bit jealous... when out of no where, Anetta pops up, complete with inflatable raft. She pulls Meiru over to the beach and has her invite Netto for a raft ride. As the two are about to leave, Jasmine asks if she can come. Netto asks Meiru if it's alright, and she says "sure." Anetta slaps her hand against her face.

Full-body shot of Anetta (I gotta admit... she looks pretty hot in her bikini). She talks about Enzan and how she misses him or something.

Yaito takes a sip of her drink and then suddenly starts bitching about something. Meijin and Yuuichirou talk again. He hits another key on his laptop. Then you can hear everyone arguing about something... apparently food, since Netto is uber hungry. He smells something good and then suddenly spots... a Maha-Ichiban!

He rushes inside. Full-body Madoi. Then Count Elec and Hinoken (yes, in his hot pink speedo) run up, and they talk about stuff... and then a really creepy close-up of Dekao... and then Chisao hands Netto a huge bowl of curry, which is promptly gorges himself on as the World Three (now including Mahajarama) watch.

Jasmine, Anetta, and Meiru come in. Dekao sees Jasmine and Meiru and has an immediate nose bleed (though they colored the blood pitch black)... full-body of Jasmine and Meiru together. Meanwhile, Nenji... still buried... is getting apprehensive of the crab approaching his head.

Then a still image of Charlie (in some kind of God-awful new swimwear, in contrast to his previous garbs in "Stormy Vacation"... it's a pink and yellow wet-suit-type thing, with his little red bandana around his neck) and three random girls, all drinking through straws from the same humungous drink.

Now Jasmine, Netto, Meiru, and Anetta are playing volleyball (with Yuuichirou as coach). Meiru and Anetta are on teams. Meiru jumps up to spike the ball, screaming "ATTACK," and Netto prepares to counter it... but then someone says his name, he gets distracted, and the ball smacks him in the face.

He looks over and it's Tohru and Mariko! (In their normal clothes, though Mariko apparently isn't wearing her normal hose.) They're apparently visitting some onsens in this area. Tohru mentions Higure, Shuuko, and her brothers came too (and the four are seen waving in the background). They talk about something and then go their separate ways, and then Rush suddenly appears and runs after Mariko and Tohru, holding his onsen gear.

Meiru starts to spike the ball again. She screams something... (sounds like "JUMPING CHOKER ATTACK!!") Netto hits the ball and returns it, and Yuuichirou blows the whistle. Meijin says something, but Yuuichirou only replies in whistle blows... causing Meijin to stumble onto the ground.

The sun is setting. Everyone's starting to cook some food, but they're apparently arguing over what to eat. There's some broth boiling and Pride dumps in a huge platter of different meats... but Nenji, Anetta, Meiru, and Netto are arguing over something. And then Dingo dumps in a platter of starfish, urchins, fish, shells, squid, and a bunch of other nasty ocean stuff. Meijin says something, but everyone ignores him.

Meanwhile, Meijin and Yuuichirou are eating curry at the Maha-Ichiban and talking to Mahajarama. Well, Yuuichirou is... Meijin has his face down on the counter, upset about stuff. Yuuichirou hits a key on his laptop.

Netto is tearing up. Apparently the food they were cooking is all burnt and nasty. Everyone sighs, but Netto's determined to have food! Yaito, meanwhile, is having a gourmet meal on her mansion grounds as an orchestra plays soothing music for her to dine to. Suddenly... Dingo, Netto, Meiru, Nenji, and Anetta (Anetta particularly displeased) hold up their plates, asking Yaito for food.

In typical anime style, Yaito and the maid behind her fall down onto the ground... and then the entire orchestra falls down... and then all the rest of Yaito's maids fall down... and lights and crap start crashing down. And Sakurako (the clumsy maid in Yaito's crew) just stands there, laughing. (This is actually pretty funny.)

Back at camp, Jasmine is eating the burnt food, enjoying it. Pride sighs. And then fireworks are seen in the sky. Nenji is letting them off, of course. Everyone happily watches. Then it shows Meijin holding sparklers in each hand, laughing psychotically with joy. There's Japanese text along the bottom... I imagine some kind of warning to tell kids not to play with fireworks. Then Yuuichirou says something... he's sitting down on the ground beside Meijin. He hits a key on his laptop. The screen flashes "OK."

*eye-catch: Netto and Meiru*

Lightning strikes behind a haunted house on the cliff-side. Cheerful music starts playing. (...) Nenji, Dingo, Pride, Meiru, Jasmine, Anetta, Yaito, and Netto all decide to split up into teams and go explore it. (This, of course, is not an idea that delights Rockman, who's afraid of ghosts.) Dingo and Nenji are OK with the idea, but Yaito is a little uninterested. Anetta teases her, asking if she's scared, and the two start bickering.

Everyone draws colored straws (or pieces of paper or something) to decide who's on who's team. Nenji and Dingo draw red. Pride, Yaito, and Anetta draw what looks like gray. Anetta and Yaito butt heads and start bitching again. Pride chuckles. Netto, Jasmine, and Meiru draw blue... and Meiru grumbles over having her on the team.

Pride, Yaito, and Anetta enter first. Yaito and Anetta are still bickering. They walk through a hallway of suits of knight armor. Something passes by in the doorway ahead, so Yaito and Anetta jump. Pride, the brave one, steps around them and progresses forward. Suddenly, everyone outside heres the team scream.

Rockman flips out. Nenji and Dingo, fearless, go in next. They reach the same hallway. Dingo takes out his tomahawk and holds it near a sword on a suit of armor (for what reason, I don't know), but as he does, he sees, in the sword's reflection, that same glowing white thing pass by the doorway ahead.

Outside, the remaining team hears Dingo and Nenji scream, and they immediately rush in to save everyone. They shout everyone's names as they walk through the same hallway. Suddenly, they see flowing pink hair and shine their flashlight on Madoi, who is curled up into a ball, facing the wall. She whispers something. Meiru says something and the camera focuses on her shoe. (?)

Suddenly, footsteps are heard... then Dekao, Hinoken, Count Elec, Chisao, and Mahajarama bust out of a doorway. Instinctively, Netto, Meiru, and Jasmine run along with them, also screaming. (Madoi hops up and runs too.) But then Team Netto stops, realizing they don't know why they're running. The three stand in the hallway, scared, when something lands behind them. They turn and see that it's... a shoe.

Netto looks up at the ceiling and sees... a bunch of shoes hanging there. They flip out and start running. Suddenly, they're surrounded by ghosts! (You know... they look like Pac-Man ghosts.) Jasmine gets scared and grabs Netto, screaming "Aaahh! Netto!" Meiru sees this and gets uber jealous, so she screams "Aaahh! Netto!" and grabs a hold of what she thinks is Netto... but it's really a suit of armor. (Uber funny here.)

She feels silly and turns around, only to see a ghost behind her. She screams and grabs the suit of armor again... and the ghost vanishes. She does it over and over and realizes that she's covering something on the helmet that causes the ghosts to appear.

Netto and Jasmine are still screaming, surrounded by the fake ghosts. Meiru walks up, screaming for Netto to shut up, and grabs him by the ear. She tells them a program is doing this (which comforts Rockman a bit). Then we see a scary grin as a finger pushes a key on a laptop. Gears begin to turn... one of which has an EXE5 Number Trader code on it. (These gears are shown many times, in varying angles, and are shown for long periods of time... I guess so the Japanese children can write down the code.)

Two stone walls fall down around Team Netto and trap them in. Netto tries to ram one and break through it, but of course, fails. (It's friggin stone.) Netto decides to put a stop to this now, and he takes out his PET. Rockman, who is completely off-screen, just waves for Netto to plug-him in. Netto, Jasmine, and Meiru all share a plug-in sequence (and they look insanely serious in it).

The same ghosts in the real world are in the cyber world. Rockman hides behind Medi's big poofy ass. The ghosts reveal themselves as Ghostler viruses. Medi uses Medi Capsule and Roll uses Roll Arrow to delete them. The two comment on working together. Rockman uses Rock Buster on the program core to revert it back to normal. (Destruction always prospers.)

End all cyber world activity in this episode.

The ghosts vanish and Team Netto is free. Suddenly, another ghost appears, but Netto realizes it's a fake. At least, he thinks. He touches it and realizes it's solid. He then touches it some more and realizes it some more. Then, they get freaked out and run. They run up stairs... literally the same running-up-stairs animation, repeated consecutively SIX times.

Finally, upon reaching the top of the stairs, Netto's shoe sticks to the floor and he flies out of it. So do Meiru and Jasmine as they slam into the wall, now shoeless. Another evil grin as a hand pushes a lever. More gears spin, more Number Trader code shown (one particular shot, uber close up of the code, for 10-11 seconds).

The room begins to tilt, and I'm not making up what I'm about to say. As Netto, Meiru, and Jasmine roll, the camera freezes to take a snapshot. First, Netto's face... then Meiru's ass (not even kidding), then Meiru's face, and then Jasmine's face. They slide down a... uhm, a slide, and then fly (Meiru still ass-first) into an onsen.

Full-shot of Mariko, squishing her boobies. Netto emerges to find Tohru there too. Not only him, but Shuuko, her brothers, Charlie, and Rush too. Full-shot of Shuuko (who looks really good in this shot, Shuuko fans). Suddenly, Dekao pops out of no where and dunks Netto... he's really pissed off about something. Then we see that everyone is basking in the onsens... even Yaito's maid (I believe it's Mika).

Meanwhile, Meijin and Yuuichirou are sitting (I think in the haunted house), and Yuuichirou loads a disk into his laptop. It shows the four photos he took (Netto, Meiru's ass, Meiru, and Jasmine)... Yuuichirou says something, Meijin sweat drops... shot of Netto, Jasmine, and Meiru in the onsen... shot of Netto's PET floating in the onsen (with Rockman finally relaxing)... shot of Madoi and Pride dunking Dingo in the onsen (and giggling about it)... shot of Dekao and Nenji (Dekao still clinching his teeth over something)... shot of Anetta and Yaito glaring at one another, only to get interrupted by a random bubble image of Mika relaxing in the onsen (seemingly nude)... Count Elec, Mahajarama, Hinoken, Chisao, Charlie (still in his hideous wet suit thing), Rush relaxing... and then back to Yuuichirou, smiling about something (probably Meiru's ass).

Episode end.

I'm not even going to comment. This episode is, by far, the most ridiculous episode EXE has ever had. Period. I can't even begin to fathom this episode, even if I understood the dialogue. It had it's funny moments, but overall... it was INSANE.

As for next week? Not wild about the animation, but at least it dips back into storyline (and ENZAN'S BACK!!). There's some kind of really creepy, full 3-D CG drawn creature with Duo's marking on his forehead (his face being a mask)... and it also appears that Duo is going to talk to the characters again (this time, the characters being Netto, Enzan, Nenji, Charlie, Jasmine, Dingo, Enzan, and even Meiru)... And finally, there's some really creepy old man (woman?)... it's hard to pinpoint his/her appearance; sorta like a mix of Regal and Slur.

OMG ENZAN RETURNS :D

I love the WTF fillers as well. They are funny and highly entertaining. Besides it builds up the whole "love triangle", if you will, of Rock/Medi/Roll and Netto/Jasmine/Meiru....no Enzan or Raika....that makes me sad...so wanted to see Anetta and Yaito fuss over him while he is in the same general area. Ah well, crack fills all.

Sounds like an alright episode. It's okay to have an episode that doesn't focus on the plot (although that would basically be over half of stream). Can't wait to see the next episode though.

Just by reading the summery, it may not score higher than a 6.0 on my verdict (whenever I get a chance to view it. Still have some catching up to do.) Probally one of those epsiodes that is just there without real purpose or have no relation of the plot.

So yeah, I think this will not see the light of day here.
