HOORAY FOR HARD DECISIONS! Hmm...Destroy Netto or let Kaylee take him...interesting. I like the time manipulation. It'd be awesome to freeze time in certain areas like Kaylee did in this chapter. I just noticed one small mistake.

Chapter Twelve: ... !!! ???

"Woot yea!" Katya's brown eyes sparkled. I twitched a bit, confused. Why was she all...woot...about fighting Rockman and Netto?!?

"Er..."

"I've been wanting to try out this new chip for ages..." Katya pulled out the battle chip that she had been designing during the three days that she cut herself off from the rest of the world.

"You haven't even told me what it's for...," I complained. I really wanna know what that chip's for...

"So, you design Battle Chips?" Katya frowned.

"What's it to you?'

"Maybe you really do live up to your nickname. But...it's one thing to design a battle chip and another thing to design one that actually works." Nickname? Katya has a nickname?!?

"My battle chips work!" Katya retorted angrily. "And how do you know that this actually is a battle chip? It could be a...a muffin disguised as a chip so Netto won't eat it!" I held back a laugh. Wow Katya...sometimes I wonder about you.

"Kaylee, this is hardly the time for a chat about that stupid girl's inventions that she slapped together in ten minutes," Paradox cut in. Katya clenched the fist that held the chip.

"Ten...minutes? How about 4320 minutes you freaking retards!!!" Wait...so...one day...is...minutes...oh screw it. She's right.

"Whatever. Let's just get this over with," Paradox snapped. Kaylee pulled a Synchro Chip out of a pouch that she wore on her pink skirt and slid it into her yellow and green PET. In a matter of seconds R.Paradox stood smugly in front of us. Yay for being surrounded...not. Hey...wait...pink, green, orange and yellow together? Yuck.

"Cyclone, ready to Cross Fuse?" Katya held up the black and silver chip. It sparkled. Shiney...wait...what?!? Cross Fuse with that? I opened my mouth to protest but Katya had already slid the chip into the PET. Whoop...guess I have no choice...

Uhm...if you get confused...then this is Cyclone talking. Yea. If you still get confused then...you're stupid. Either that or you're tired. Yea. Tell me if you still don't get it, okay?

Chapter Thirteen: When Bad Muffins Get...Worse...

Okay..I hope the God this works. Seriously. And hey, do you have any idea of how cool it feels to Cross Fuse? It's like...teh awesome! Yay! But...it's hard to create a chip that does that...you kow the fusing thing...if I did one thing wrong then Cyclone could be destroyed or I could be killed. Yay! Wait...yay?

"YAY!" I jumped up and down. God I hate it when she acts immature when we're in Cross Fusion. It makes me look...bad...

"Katya, could you please not act your age?"

"Aren't you happy it works?" I would think she'd be happy it works...huh...

"What exactly is different?"

"You'll seeeee!" I luff keeping Cyclone from knowing things that she wants to!

"So, you guys have some new armour. Big deal," R.Rockman said haughtily. Muwaha, he talked! If I weren't so mad at Netto, I'd run and give him a big hug... Don't even think of it. Gah. Fine. Hmm...Let me tell you about our new design real quick.

The helmet is designed to look like a baseball cap...you know, with the bill and everything. Cyclone's symbol, a twister with a circle around it, is in the center of the front. The helmet is black and grey. The rest of our armour is basically the same as Cyclone's regular design, only we have my black vest worked into it. Yay for the Cross Fusion!

"It's time you made your choice." Huh? We were supposed to be making a choice?

"Uhm..."

"Do you ever have you head down to Earth?" I would think you would know that I...uhm...no.

"We'll help you then." R.Paradox held out her hands and a bright ball of purple energy formed in them. Behind me, R.Rockman was charging up a buster shot. Uhm...shit?

"I don't need help...really..." I half smiled as I wracked my brain for summtin that'll get us out of here.

Didn't you put in a cloaking thingy?" Muwaha! Yes I did! Wait...how did she know...? I shrugged and focused on activating the cloak. Uhm...Cyclone? How does it feel to be cloaked? It sorta feels like you've been dunked into a bucket of ice cold-" Okay thanks! I jumped, narrowly avoiding the two attacks that were hurled at us. Whew...oh, hey Cyclone? What... I'm glad you can hover...cause I don't wanna go back down there. Uhm...okay?

R.Paradox gritted her teeth and blocked the buster shot, her attack smacking right into R.Rockman. Unh...unh...Netto... Stop your whimpering... Shut up, you feel bad for them too! R.Paradox smiled lightly and stood up straight.

"Come out...you can't hide for very long...time is short and I need you where I can see you," she sang. I shivered. All of a sudden it got...cold in here...or is it just cause I'm higher? No...not high enough... Oy! Katya! What...?

"Eep!" I squealed as R.Paradox picked up the unconsious R.Rockman and hurled him at me, knocking me out of the air and onto the ground. There goes the cloak... Sure enough, within seconds of being smashed into the floor by Netto who weighs God knows how much, the cloak dissolved. "You guys are sooo nice to Netto," I said sarcastically, shifting with a bit of difficulty so that I could breathe. R.Paradox frowned.

"Well..."

"Kaylee..."

"I know what I'm doing," R.Paradox said, waving off her navi. Hey...it's warmer in here...oh oops. I forgot that Netto was on top of me...heh... Katya...I'll never understand you. What else is new?

"He sure seems to like me better then he ever liked you," R.Paradox was saying. What...did...you...say...?!?!? Easy Katya...

"BITCH!" I screamed, pushing R.Rockman off of me and lunging at R.Paradox in a fury. I gave her a few hard punches before she kicked me away. "You are a freaking bitch!!" I repeated, panting. Somthing flickered in R.Paradox's eyes. You'd better be afraid... She held up her hands to charge another attack but I kicked her feet out from under her.

"Paradox? You told me that-"

"Shut it and fight!" R.Paradox hesitated and I proceded to beat the crap out of her. Okay...first she comes in all 'woo look at me I'm so KICK ASS!!' Then she goes 'oh I can hang out with you and I'll ruin your life and NETTO IS MINE!' Now she tries to kill me and Netto? UH UHH! NO WAY IN HELL!

I think you got her...STOP! Katya, stop! I kicked R.Paradox one last time. R.Paradox started to glow and a bright light filled the room, forcing me to shield my eyes. What the-

"Heh...I told you it was an Identity Swap...," Cyclone said smugly. In R.Paradox's place cowered a scrawny girl who had hair the color of hot coals. Nothing else was different about her other then the freckles dotted across her nose. The green and yellow PET dropped beside her. The navi inside hadn't changed in the least...same old Paradox. Grr...

"Uhm..." Kaylee picked up her PET and hastily stood up. She backed away from me and inserted the Synchro Chip once more into her PET. This time, when transformed, the color of R.Paradox's hair was a burnt red and she was a bit scrawnier then before.

"Who do you work for?" I demanded, holding up my buster gun so that it was pointed at her face. R.Paradox looked at me with cold blue eyes.

"If you kill me then you'll find out...it's the only way. I'm not as weak as you think," Kaylee sneered. "I'll die before I reveal the name of my orginization...and when they find out you were the ones who destroyed the best of the best...they'll keep looking for you until you have either joined them or died."

Yay for teh randomness and action! You do a good job of blending them together. It was also pretty cool to see Katya get mad and beat the living shit out of R.Paradox for saying Netto liked her better. My favorite thing Katya said was "It could be a muffin disguised as a battlechip so Netto doesn't eat it!" Gawd you are insane(I mean that as a good thing.). Where do you come up with this stuff?

Chapter Fourteen: Stormy Outlook

"Is that a threat?" I asked cooly, charging the buster. R.Paradox smirked.

"What if it is?"

"Then I'll-"

"Kaylee's too valuable to kill, Katya..." Heh...sure she is. The smile on R.Paradox's face widened.

"You think you know us...but you don't even have a clue-" Dammit...she changed her name too? Gah...guess she's smarter then I thought... "-then you do."

"What about me?" Do you space out every single time someone talks to you?!? Only when you talk Cyclone. Shut up. R.Paradox...wait...so...would her navi be Paradox still? Who the hell is standing in front of me! AHH!!! R.??? Eh? That's hard to say...questionmarkquestionmarkquestionmark...

"What are you doing here?" R. ... ...HEEHEE! R.??? asked. It sounds so FUNNY! TEEHEE! I cleared my throat at Cyclone's annoyed sigh.

"What kind of a question is that?!?" I'm getting a bit impatient. "Now I'm gonna ask you again...who are you working for?"

"It's a perfectly legitimate question. What is a thirteen year old girl doing chasing down assassins and mafias trying to keep what little peace the world has in order?" I'm twelve you diphead. Twelve. My birthday is in two weeks one day. Sheesh...

"Have you ever considered that it's my business and not yours?" I said bitterly. Ka-the girl-chuckled and her right arm transformed into a shimmering purple sword. I twitched. "Don't you dare."

"Like I said before...you don't have a clue."

"I'm gonna ask you one more time...who are you and what orginization do you work for?" I growled. Cyclone hasn't said anything this whole time...Cyclone? Are you alive? No. Okay just checking.

"You gave up everything...you had more power then you had ever dreamed of and you let it all go." You're getting on my nerves...

"Don't think I won't kill you," I sneered. Just give me one more reason...mention Netto...I dare you to mention him... R.??? inspected the blade of her sword and glanced at me, her blue eyes cold and full of hatred. Wait a second...

I would jump if I were- Already done pal! I jumped out of the way of R.???'s time freezing attack and fired a charged buster shot at her. R.??? blocked the attack with her sword and turned to face me again as I landed on the ground behind her.

"I think there's something that I need to make very clear...," I began

"And that is...what. That you're an idiot for leaving Storm and you are going to rejoin?"

"Hate to tell you this," I said as my right arm glowed and shaped itself into an Aqua Sword as I activated the Battle Chip, "but thay're kinda...gone." I bolted toward my advarsary and we locked swords. R.??? smirked and we locked eyes. I froze...it's...I dunno...

"You assume too much." She pushed me back and slashed repeatedly at my torso. I blocked about three of the slashes with the Aqua Sword...but then the cheap thing broke. Crap?

"Ow ow!" I yelped, falling backwards and landing on my back with a thud as the blows from the sword stung my body. "Get...OFF!" I kicked her in the face and she staggered backwards. Siezing the oppertunity to attack, I activated my buster gun, kicked R.??? off of her feet, and pointed my weapon at her head, panting.

"You're not half bad," she said, also breathing heavily.

"I take that as a compliment."

"You made a mistake, leaving. I'm giving you a chance, here, now, to fix it. They'll forgive you if you're my friend. If you come back now...with me..."

"Shut up." She fell silent, noticing that I had started to charge my buster again. "Now...tell me who you are really working for." R.??? laughed, her cold voice ringing throughout the room.

"Believe it, Katya, they are back. If you are too dense to know when someone's telling the cold hard truth..."

"I think she's serious Katya," Cyclone said. I don't...I can't...it's not...is it? I hesitated.

"Last chance to reconsider."

"I told you...NO CHANCE IN HELL!" I hissed. There's not even the slightest chance, leave me alone!!

"The you're useless to us." R.???'s eyed onece again locked onto mine and that strange feeling flowed across me. I froze. Um...shit? Katya she can control the time and space that is around us! Why did you look at her eyes you tard?!? Whoops forgot to remember that...wait...would that be...uhm...??? !!! ...

R.???'s Cross Fusion suddenly faded as something hit her back. I felt the sensation lift and my and Cyclone's Cross Fusion timed out as well. I instinctively reached out to grab my PET. What the-

Chapter Fifteen: Do Net Saviors Ever Get a Break?

"Okay, someone explain what in the hell is going on!" Netto demanded. Katya immediately twitched and I could tell she was holding back a sudden urge to hug Netto to death. It looks like he's back to normal...and he doesn't remember anything. Hey wait...does that mean...that time is back to normal everywhere else too?

The girl stirred on the floor. Katya glared at her and reached for the back pocket of her backpack.

"Katya put that away!" I gasped. She...can't...Katya! She ran a finger across the blade of her pocket knife after she flicked it open.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't."

"B...b...because!" I sputtered.

"Katya...who the hell is that girl," Netto asked quietly. Katya twitched again

"I'm not sure...all I do know is she's a Storm agent." The girl opened her eyes, sat up, saw Katya holding the knife, and turned chalk white. Katya continued to talk to Netto as though the girl wasn't even there. "Oh, and hey, Netto?"

"What?"

"Good timing there," my Net Op said cooly. The girl stood shakily and Katya sighed. "Now...let's try this again...who are you?"

"You'll have to kill me."

"We can arrange that if it's what you want..." Netto backed away from her a bit. I don't blame him...he's never seen Katya like this has he? Heh...I guess I should warn Katya about Enzan coming up behind her...but I kinda don't feel like it...teehee.

"Katya...stop...don't...give me that!" Enzan grabbed Katya's wrist and wrenched the knife from her grasp. Katya grabbed for the knife but Enzan pushed her back.

"Enzan you little..."

"Weither she lives or dies isn't your choice," he said firmly. Katya stood there for a minute then made another attempt to snatch back her knife. Netto grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"Netto, get off. You don't even know what's happening!"

"What're you gonna do...kill her?" Netto asked.

"Maybe!" Katya stopped grabbing for her knife though and only looked daggers at the girl as she was escorted from the room. "If I didn't kill her then someone from Storm would." She does have a point.

"What are you talking about?" Netto asked. I noticed he hadn't released Katya's arm yet and it looked like he didn't intend to. Boys...

"They'll send someone to kill her. When a Storm agent fails, the penalty is death. She knows that, that's why she wasn't protesting when I threatened her with the knife. Either I kill her or her own people do." Enzan and Netto exchanged glances that said 'should we trust her on this one?'

"Surely it's not Storm..."

"They probably renamed so suspicion would be averted. Heh..." Katya chuckled as she took back her pocket knife from Enzan and slid it back in her backpack. "It's probably something lame like Squall." Netto held back a laugh, for some reason taking great pains to stay serious.

"Well...we should stay on our guard from here on out. I'm going to go and take care of business...you two should head home for now. With that, Enzan turned on his heel and walked out of the room.

"Now what?" Netto asked. Katya frowned as she thought, then she shrugged and grabbed Netto around the waist, trapping him in a hug. I rolled my eyes as Netto flinched. "Um...did I miss something?"

"Lots. But...I'll tell you later." Ugh...this'll be a long night. Wonder what'll happen now though...with Storm being back and all...and...the one thing that really bothers me...who is the one who started it again?

Chapter Sixteen: V a c a t i o n ! ! !

We really need a vacation. Not that saving the world isn't fun and all...but don't peeps need a break every once and a while? I'm surprised the bad guys don't take breaks more often. I would. But no...instead I'm sitting here...bored and listening to depressing songs on my CD...waiting for a call...to save the world...blah...blah...blah... ...

"Hey Cyclone..."

"Wut."

"Let's go to teh beach." Cyclone coughed.

"Um...and who'll stay here to handle any problems that might arise?"

"Enzan..." I held up a finger. "Uhh...Enzan...and...Enzan can do it." Cyclone's right eye twitched.

"Uh huh..."

"Oh come on..." My PET beeped and Cyclone jumped. "HEEHEE!"

"Shut up!" she said crossly, opening the mail for me. I read it and started laughing hysterically. "Ohmygod...what does it say?" A few minutes later, after a lot of pleading and coaxing and threatening, I got Cyclone to e-mail Netto back with my 'heck yes see you in ten minutes' message and not her 'hell no go eat a rotten muffin' answer.

Okay...you're prolly wondering what the mail said, right? Teehee! Netto, Meiru, Yaito, and Dekao are going to Oran Isle...for a V A C A T I O N! Woot yea! Well...I've never been there before, but it's supposed to be really remote and crap. Hopefully it'll be a storm free day...I mean that in the way of weather...wait...or do I...

I threw open the top drawer of my dresser and threw all of the clothes out of it, looking for my bathing suit.

"Cyclone?"

"Should be there..."

"Um..." I stuck my head back into the drawer.

"If I were out there with you I hope you know I'd push you into that drawer and close it."

"Yup I know." Cyclone pouted a bit as I found my suit and threw it on under my clothes. I hate changing anywhere but in my room... *shudder* After pulling on my shoes and grabbing my PET, I jumped down the stairs two at a time and ran out the door toward the Metroline.

A few minutes later, I skidded to a stop beside Netto at the station. No one but us...grr...wait...NETTO!

"Hi," I panted.

"Hey."

"Um...we're...early?"

"Yup."

"That's...cool...I guess." I stood there silent for a few minutes, catching my breath.

"I really don't think we should be leaving, Katya," Cyclone said pointedly.

"Godzilla isn't gonna attack the city while we're gone."

"But that'd be cool," Netto replied.

"Cyclone has a point though Netto...," Rockman sighed.

"Go talk to Cyclone about it then!"

"You guys...are early?" Netto and I turned around.

"Who in their right mind would want to be late for summtin like this?" I replied, nodding my hello to Meiru.

"Sorry to keep you guys waiting...wanna go now?" Yaito and Dekao appeared behind Meiru. Netto and I sighed.

"Finally...," we commented.

Zomg! Yay for teh boat! It was a bit fishy...and a bit slow...but yay all the same! Well...at least Oran Isle is cool. As soon as we docked I jumped off of the boat and started exploring. Yay! Yay! Cyclone didn't like it much...teehee...she said I was gonna get lost. Eventually everyone caught up with me as I found the old mine place...and they told me about the drill and such...AND THERE'S STILL A HOLE IN THE GROUND! I dared Netto to jump into the hole but he wouldn't...hehe.

"Wait till you see the beach," Dekao said. "Race you guys!" He took off, Netto and myself on his heels. YAY FOR RUNNING! Cyclone thinks I'm immature for loving to run...but it's awesome lol. Couldn't you just run around for hours...and hours...and...okay I'm rambling.

I skidded to a stop on the beach, sending sand flying. I won again! Yay! Netto slipped and fell into me, knocking me onto my face. Dekao walked up, panting, and Meiru and Yaito just stood behind us, shaking their heads in disapproval.

"Netto...you're squishing me..."

"Ow..."

"Yea ow..." Dekao started laughing between pants and I pushed Netto off of me. Hope I'm not blushing...grr...why do I always get embarrassed so easily around my friends?

Yaito and Meiru left...obviously to change in the boat...I sighed, stood up, and brushed myself off. I dunno...I dunno why I'm feeling so down all of a sudden. I really don't have a good feeling about today...

Chapter Seventeen: No One Listens...

After about two hours of playing in the surf, Katya started to get nervous. I don't know what's up...she hasn't been the same all day. Katya always complains that she doesn't get to spend enough time in the water...if there are four things that Katya likes the most they would have to be the weather, water, food, Netto, and Net Battling. I know that's five...bear with me okay? "Hey guys? Doncha think we should get goin soon?" Katya said nervously, staring up at the sky. Everyone else looked up at the sky as well, trying to find what Katya was staring at.

"Why? Are you okay?" Dekao asked.

"Yea, you've been acting..."

"Odd." Meiru finished Yaito's sentence. Netto didn't say anything, only glanced at Katya with a worried expression on his face. Katya had a 'it's gonna storm really bad and we're gonna get stranded here' look on her face that obviously only Netto recognized. I've never seen her act this jittery...well, not since she moved back here anyway.

"Hey." Rockman appeared in my PET beside me. "You bored?" I shrugged.

"A bit," I admitted. Looking at Katya and the others all day isn't exactly my definition of a good time, but whatever.

"What's up with Katya? She's acting a bit strange."

"She thinks it's gonna storm," I replied. Rockman looked at me with a hint of...admiration? Oh well...as long as he keeps looking...

"You can tell what she's thinking?" Ehh...sometimes.

"Can't you with Netto?" I asked. Rockman shrugged.

"Meh...most of the time. It's hard with Netto though...sometimes he's being serious and then other times he's goofing around." I nodded. It's the same way with Katya. But now...now she's being totally serious. Katya's always serious about her feelings. She has this...thing...with the weather. Like when she was all weepy and stuff when Kaylee was all dictator...it rained like three times that week of much depression and tears. Odd.

"I really think we should go. It's gonna rain," Katya repeated.

"Oh, don't be a worry-wart!" Yaito said.

"Yeah, there's not a cloud in the sky. We're fine," Meiru added. Katya ignored them and waded out of the water. She grabbed her blue towel and wrapped it around the lower half of her grey and black two piece, walking off of the beach as she did that. Netto looked at his feet, then followed Katya out of the water.

"Heh...where're ya goin Netto? Following your girlfriend?" Dekao mocked. Netto blushed a bit but grabbed his towel and decided to ignore Dekao's comment. Oh boy is he glad Katya didn't hear...not that she'd mind, but just for Dekao's cheek he'd get a few punches. I'll mention it to her later...after the storm.

Katya grabbed my PET and clipped it to her towel. Netto walked up next to her and picked up Rockman's empty PET. Geez...they haven't even noticed that Rock's in here with me? Pathetic... "Hey, what makes you think it's gonna rain?" Netto asked my Net Op curiously.

"I just have...a feeling." HA! Told ya she gets feelings like that. "It's hard to explain." Netto nodded. Even if he doesn't totally understand he does a good job of acting it.

"D'ya think we should tell the others? they may listen to both of us."

"No...thanks though. They'll find out soon enough." Katya started to walk and Netto followed.

"Isn't there a waterfall in the real world somewhere nearby?" Rockman asked me. I shrugged.

"I've never been here before remember?" He nodded.

"Sorry, I forgot. It's pretty nice out there though...well...it looks nice anyway." He sighed. "Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to be human?" I shrugged.

"Once or twice. But it would take a TON of getting used to...I like being a navi just fine." Rockman looked away and muttered something I couldn't make out. I decided to ignore it and went back to watching Katya. Heh...Rockman was right...there is a waterfall out there. Katya was looking around it.

"Yupperz...just as I thought." Netto followed her into the small cave behind the waterfall.

"Woah...this is cool." Katya nodded. What does that? Water erosion? I dunno...whatever. Random cave...wait...Katya and Netto alone in a random cave...I have to ruin the moment.

"HEY KATYA!" I screamed. She and Netto took a step away from each other really quickly, startled. FUNFUN!

"What?!?" She sounds pissed.

"Um...uhh..." Shoot. I have nothing to say.

"Maybe you guys should go back and check on the others?" Rockman suggested. YAY! ROCK TO THE RESCUE! Katya nodded and reluctantly followed Netto out of the cave.

"Told ya." The sky had turned a nasty shade of black and the wind had picked up. "C'mon, let's hurry and find the others," Katya said, grabbing Netto's hand and running toward the beach. Yaito, Meiru, and Dekao had gotten out of the water and were standing on the beach getting dressed in a hurry, their wet bathing suits soaking through onto their clothes. Katya grabbed her shirt, vest, and skirt and pulled them all on hurridly, grabbing her shoes as she turned to get off of the beach.

"Where did this come from!" Meiru shouted over the wind. Rockman glanced at me and disappeared back into his PET.

"Let's get back to the boat!" Yaito said, her voice panicked. Katya grabbed her arm as she sprinted past and shook her head.

"Are you insane? There's no way that wimpy thing'll survive ten minutes out there!" Katya nodded toward the ocean, where the waves had picked up. "C'mon, there's a better place we can go!" Netto pulled on his orange vest and zipped it up and Katya motioned for him to get Meiru and Dekao to follow. She pulled Yaito toward the cave behind the waterfall that she and Netto had found minutes before.

Chapter Eighteen: Storms Can Be...Good...

I pulled Yaito into the cave. By that time it was pouring and Netto, Dekao, and Meiru were out in the middle of it. I had a feeling...and storms creep up really quickly when you're in the middle of the ocean. "Stay here," I ordered Yaito. She was scared...pretty much terrified. She nodded and I took a deep breath before sprinting into the blackness of the storm.

Netto was helping Meiru walk; she had fallen and hurt her ankle pretty bad when we were trying to run on the slippery ground. Dekao ran by me and disappeared behind the waterfall. A huge gust of wind nearly lifted me off of my feet and it knocked me down. I pushed myself onto my knees and blinked, trying to see through the sheets of rain that were falling around me. Crawling over to where Netto and Meiru were standing, I reached out and grabbed Meiru’s other arm.

“I’ve got her, go back to the cave!” I yelled, pushing Netto’s hand off of her arm and heaving Meiru onto my back. Daymn she’s heavy…

“No way!” Netto grabbed my sleeve and started to pull me toward the cave. Sometimes he’s too stubborn for his own good…we eventually made it back to the waterfall. Meiru was crying…poor thing…Dekao helped me set her down and I leaned against the wall of the cave, my back aching.

“I wish you guys would just listen to me now and again…,” I muttered, ripping off a piece of my shirt and wrapping it around Meiru’s swollen ankle. She cringed and bit her lip. Netto wiped a bit of mud off of his face and thunder sounded. The wind seemed to pick up. I grabbed two twigs that were randomly lying there and started to rub them together, trying to make a fire. This may take a while…

With Netto and Dekao’s help I managed to get a teensy fire going…we used up all of the random twigs lying around in here. The stuff outside is soaked and I wouldn’t wanna go back out there to look anyway…not till the storm passes. I dried my vest by the fire and gave it to Meiru so she wouldn’t get worse. We really need to get outta here so she can get to a hospital.

Dekao, Yaito, and Meiru eventually fell asleep. We had dried out our beach towels and they were using them as blankets. By that time the worst of the storm was over and the rain was falling a bit lighter…not much, but at least the wind had died down. I leaned against Netto, shivering slightly in the cool air. The fire helped a bit…but… “Hey Netto?” I whispered, my teeth chattering.

“What?”

“It’s cold.” I sound like a baby…it’s cold…ehh…I’m hungry…ehh…Netto lifted his arm and put it around my shoulder. I felt a soft warmth spread from the place where he touched me all the way down my back. I stopped shivering.

“Better?”

“Yeah.” We didn’t say anything for a few minutes, only listened to the sound of the crackling fire and pattering rain. “Netto?”

“What?”

“I’m kinda glad they didn’t listen to me.” I looked up at him. Heehee…his hair was all messed up from the wind. I reached up and tousled it a bit…it’s amazing how different Netto looks when he’s not wearing his headband. I imagine…I imagine I look kinda different without my hat too though… Netto turned to face me and our eyes met. My stomach turned over and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest…I prayed he couldn’t hear it.

“Yeah, me too.” He hesitated for a minute, then pushed a lock of my hair out of my face and kissed me. I felt the same warmth spread throughout my whole body. After a few seconds we broke away because Dekao started snoring really loud and I couldn’t keep myself from laughing. Wee!

The next morning I woke up to Yaito shaking me. "Wazzahappen...," I said groggily. Beside me, Netto was being awakened by Dekao. Yaito sat back on her heels, a worried expression pasted on her face. I remembered what had happened last night...well...I forced myself to only remember the storm part. "Eh...is Meiru alright?" I asked. Yaito looked even more depressed.

"Her ankle's pretty swollen...I dunno...I think it's broken," she replied. "But...there's no way we can get back home..." Netto stretched his arms above his head.

"Why's that?" he asked with a yawn. Dekao sighed.

"The boat's totaled," he said gravely. Netto shrugged.

"Ahh well," he replied casually as I pushed stretched my legs out in front of me and touched my toes.

"Netto, are you okay?" Yaito asked, looking at Netto as though he was insane.

"Yeah, Netto...our boat is smashed. Gone. Totaled. There is nothing left except for a bunch of flippin boards and crap. We're stuck here!" Dekao added. I frowned for a second, thinking.

"Hey Netto," Rockman started.

"Doesn't your brother have an airship?" I finished. Netto stood up slowly and offered a hand down to me. I took it and he helped me to my feet.

"Yup. Rockman...?"

"Already e-mailed him," Rockman said with a grin. I half smiled.

"Isn't he on vacation?" I asked smugly. Netto shrugged.

"He won't be in a half hour." I grinned.

"You're ebil." Netto gave me a look that said 'well look who's talking' and we followed Dekao and Yaito, who had decided to go back outside to check on Meiru and tell her that we were getting outta here. Meh...I guess we just can't have a relaxing vacation for long...

Chapter Ninteen: FUYUKI! YAY!

In about a half hour Fuyuki showed up in a red ariship. "Why is it that I'm always the one who ends up cleaning up your messes?" he complained. Netto shrugged.

"Cause you're older. It's your job," he said with a grin. Fuyuki looked daggers at him as everyone crowded onto the airship.

"HI FUYUKI!" Katya squealed, jumping on him and giving him a hug. Fuyuki fell out of his seat, caught off guard.

"GET THE HELL OFF ME!" he yelled, peeling Katya's arms off of his neck and pushing her back into Netto. I sighed. This was gonna be a long day...

"I guess it wouldn't hurt if I stuck around long enough to kick some bad guy ass," Fuyuki said. He, Netto, and Katya were sitting in the Hikari's living room, talking. Meiru was at the hospital. She was going to have to stay for a few days so that they could keep an eye on her ankle...and she would have to walk with crutches for a few months when she got out. Yaito and Dekao were home recovering from the ordeal themselves. Only Netto and Katya were eager to have something else extreme happen.

"Woot!" Katya jumped up off of the chair she was sitting on and Fuyuki slid over to the other side of the couch as she lept at him, causing Katya to hit the couch face-first.

"Hug Netto not me!" he said, annoyed. Rockman appeared inside of my PET.

"Lemmie guess...she has a new obsession with hugs."

"No, what makes you think that?" I asked, watching Katya chase Fuyuki around the house screaming 'HUGS!' She ran into the chair, a wall, and a lamp before giving up.

"Your girlfriend is insane," Fuyuki told Netto. He shrugged.

Chapter Twenty: PARTAY!

I hid behind the board, my body tense. I was wearing a long sleeved black shirt, black shorts, black knee socks, and black tennis shoes. My hat was the same; black and light blue, and I had a black helmet over it. The enemy'll prolly see the bue, but at this point I didn't care. All that was running through my mind was 'don't get shot...'

I sprinted to another board and could hear the enemy fire, the ammo shooting over my head and wizzing beside me. I crouched behind a tree, breathing heavily. "ZOMG HE HIT ME!" I heard Netto yell. I crawled to where he was sitting and pulled him back behind the tree, enemy fire hitting the ground all around me.

"Netto, where're you get hit?" He showed me the spot on his arm where a pink goo was present.

"I'm gonna die!" he goraned. I rolled my eyes.

"Netto, for God's sake this is paintball!"

"But it's PINK!" he whined. I felt anger well up inside me.

"OKAY WHOEVER STOLE MY EXPENSIVE PINK PAINTBALLS IS GONNA DIE!" I screamed, running out from behind the tree and shooting my gun at everything I saw moving. "And you're gonna die for hitting Netto!" I added hastily. I hit Dekao in the stomach and got Yaito in the arm. I stopped to rest behind a tree for a few seconds.

Everyone chipped in and bought me the paintball guns and paintballs for my birthday. I had a stash of pink ones lying around from when I was still in Ameroupe...it was one of the few things we kids were allowed to play. Yay for my birthday!

This paintball was way awesome. The guns had slots that you could insert your PET's into and your navi could shoot the gun for you. How fast the paintballs went out and how accurate they were all depended on the navi. I looked around nervously...where was Fuyuki? I heard Enzan scream 'SHIT WHERE'D YOU COME FROM?' and I crouched lower to the ground.

"Cyclone, is there any way you can make it shoot only one paintball at a time?" She nodded and I secured my helmet. "Okay. change it when I say, alright? READY OR NOT FUYUKI!" I screamed, running out and shooting at everything I saw.

"Ow that was my head!" Enzan yelped, and I aimed the other way. Oopsies. A paintball wizzed by my head and I dove behind a paint splattered board as Fuyuki opened fire. We shot at each other for a few seconds and I whispered to Cyclone to make the gun only shoot one at a time. I hear Fuyuki move and shot a single paintball at him. The paintball hit a trash can lid he held up and bounced back at me, hitting me in the head.

"WHAT THE HELL! That's impossible!" I yelled. Fuyuki shrugged.

"Tell that to the author," he said. I paused for a second then had Cyclone switch the gun back to shooting multiple paintballs. I stood up and started firing at Fuyuki. "OWOWOW!" he yelled and the paintballs pelted him. "IF I WEREN'T OUTTA PAINTBALLS..." My gun clicked.

"Oh shit." I whispered. "I'm out too." Fuyuki threw his gun aside and I ran for my life. Being thirteen is gonna hurt a bit...
