*Insert basic disclaimer here. I do not own Rockman, or Bleach. I do own Fuujin, and Mugen.exe, as well as any I list here later. This is an AU fic. Bleach+Rockman+GX. Read and enjoy!

Chapter 1: Into the fray!
A beam of light hit the access port of a Metroline computer console, and a yellow navi teleported within. It was complete chaos. “We’ll hold them here!” the officials shouted, firing at several viruses. Turning to the yellow navi, one yelled, “Get to the control area if you want to help!”
“Hurry!!” another exclaimed. “That’s probably where the enemy leader’s lurking!!”
“Gotcha,” the yellow navi replied, rushing off towards the next area.
“Careful Mugen,” the net-op whispered as the navi entered the area, “Be prepared for anything!”
Suddenly a heavily armored figure stepped out from the shadows. “You! Are you behind this!” Mugen shouted at the silent warrior.
“Too late young fella… the control area’s been taken.” The enemy replied, with a psychotic glint in his eye.
“Too late!? No way!! We’ll take you down and put everything right!” The yellow navi exclaimed. The armored navi chuckled to himself, and lifted his spear, ready for battle. “Big talk for such a little guy!”
“Laugh while you can, we’ll show you!!” Mugen shouted as he rushed towards the foe. A glint appeared in the enemy’s eyes, as he began to assess the navi’s combat ability. “Vulcan!” he shouted as he raised his arm to fire at the enemy. A shield blocked his shots. “Not bad kid,” the silver navi said, “But not good enough!” He launched a fierce spear attack at the defenseless navi.
“Shadow, slot in!” the navi’s silver-haired net-op shouted. The yellow navi went dark with the power of the shadows, and the spear hit him, shattering. “Hmmm…interesting,” the silver navi mumbled to himself as he drew a sword from the sheath at his side.
He rushed to slice the navi, but Mugen ducked and the blade sliced at thin air. He lifted his right arm up as it turned into a Vulcan, and fired at the unguarded foe. The enemy reeled from the attack, but got up from his knees ready for more. “Lets try this again!” he shouted as he slashed at Mugen, catching him in the side. “Hurghhh,” he grunted in pain. The enemy raised his blade to make the finishing strike. “Dream aura, slot it!” A powerful aura wrapped around the wounded navi, knocking the adversary back.
The navi glared at Mugen, clutching his side. “You pass!” he sighed.
“Huh?” Mugen and his operator said in confusion.
“You pass the entrance exam. You’re in. You made it into The Academy…. barely.” The navi said condescendingly.
“What academy?” the silver-haired boy wondered.
“Why The Academy for Netbattling, of course!” he cheerily replied. “It’s where all the best Netbattlers go to improve their skills… so, do you accept the offer. Will you go to The Academy?”
“Lets go Fuujin,” the yellow navi said in excitement. “Okay Mugen,” Fuujin replied, “We’ll go… but wait, how do we get there?” He questioned.
“Train,” came the reply.
“Okay, forward all the info to my PET kay’?” he asked the entrance examiner. The PET beeped as the information about the school was downloaded. “Okay, lets go ask mom,” Fuujin said, plugging Mugen.exe out of the Metroline console.
"I'll expect great things from this one," the examiner mumbled as Fuujin rushed out of the station.

Chapter 2: The three houses.

A train pulled up The Academy’s station, and stopped. The doors opened, and out stepped a silver-haired boy carrying two heavy suitcases. He wore a red backpack, light blue zip-up sweatshirt, and dark blue jeans.
“Fuujin!” a voice shouted from the waiting area. A young girl with red hair rushed to help him with his luggage. “Thanks Meiru,” Fuujin said as she grabbed the lighter of the two suitcases.
“It’s the least I could do for my cousin. By the way, what house were you assigned to?” she questioned.
“Let me check,” Fuujin said as he reached into his coat pocket for his PET. “Mugen, what house does the e-mail say I’m to report to?” “Says you’re to report to Airshot Blue,” Mugen replied.
“Hey, that’s the same house I’m in!” Meiru said as they walked through the main gates. “Hey!” a voice called out, and a brown-haired kid skid to a stop in front of them.
“Who’s this guy?” the boy suspiciously questioned. The boy was wearing biker shorts and a headband.
“Don’t be so suspicious Netto!” Meiru exclaimed, slightly annoyed at her boyfriends rudeness. She pointed at Fuujin, and explained to Netto the he was her cousin, and a new student at The Academy.
“Oh, sorry about that,” Netto said, scratching his head in embarrassment. “So you’re name’s Fuujin, huh? Well since your new here, how about if I show you around after we put your stuff away?” Netto asked.
“Okay,” Fuujin replied as the started walking. Suddenly Netto turned to face him. “Wait, where’s your dorm? I forgot to ask.”
“Airshot Blue,” Fuujin replied. Netto started walking again.
“Okay then, to Airshot Blue!” He exclaimed, then stopped in and turned to look at him in dismay. “Your in that house?” He questioned.
“Yeah,” Fuujin said, checking his PET again, “Airshot Blue, why? What’s wrong with that house?” He asked suspiciously.
“Oh nothing,” Netto replied, “forget I mentioned it.” He started walking again, this time faster.
“Netto!” Meiru yelled at him. “Just tell him, it’s all right. He should know!” Her and Netto turned to face Fuujin. “What!?” Fuujin asked nervously, setting his suitcase down.
“Airshot Blue is the lowest house,” Netto replied. “Its for the lowest caliber of Netbattler… you know the most unlikely to succeed.” Meiru chimed in.
“But you said you were in Airshot Blue!” Fuujin shouted at Meiru. He turned to Netto. “And what house are you in that’s so great!?” he exclaimed angrily.
“Calm down!” Netto told him. It’s not as bad as I made it sound. Let me explain again. You see each of the three houses is for Netbattlers of a different skill level. The very best are in Muramasa Black. The lowest level house is Airshot Blue. It’s for the at-risk, you know, those most likely to drop out. They’re the underdogs of The Academy. The middle house is Guardian Gray. I’m in that house. It’s the middle ground for different skill levels. Do you understand?”
Fuujin bowed his head and said he understood. Meiru told him it was nothing to be ashamed of.
“You’re right!” Fuujin suddenly exclaimed cheerily. “Huh?” Netto and Meiru said in unison. “This isn’t that bad… you know my favorite color is blue, so this could be a blessing!” They both looked at him like he was crazy.
“You’re right,” Meiru said, her mood changing from somber to cheery again. “Since were in the same house I can help you get settled in better. And the house your in doesn’t really matter,” she said, glaring at Netto. “The Academy is here for people to get better anyways, so eventually one’s house level could be upgraded.”
“Yeah, you’re right!” Netto exclaimed. “Sorry about bringing the mood down, I just wanted to let you know.” Netto apologized.
“It’s all right!” Fuujin happily replied as he picked up his luggage. “Let’s get this stuff to my dorm room, then you can show me around campus, okay?” Fuujin changed the subject.
“Okay,” Netto replied as they hurried off to deposit Fuujin’s luggage in his room.

Pretty good, I didn't see any spelling errors that I know of and the puncuation was good but I did see one thing

Quote:
“Okay,” Fuujin replied as the started walking. Suddenly Netto turned to face him. “Wait, where’s your dorm? I forgot to ask.” “Airshot Blue,” Fuujin replied. Netto started walking again. “Okay then, to Airshot Blue!” He exclaimed, then stopped in and turned to look at him in dismay. “Your in that house?” He questioned.
“Yeah,” Fuujin said, checking his PET again, “Airshot Blue, why? What’s wrong with that house?” He asked suspiciously.

you might want to add a little more space between the different characters sentences kinda like this.

“Okay,” Fuujin replied as the started walking.

Suddenly Netto stoped turned to face him and said. “Wait, which dorm are you in? I forgot to ask.”

“Airshot Blue,” Fuujin replied, and Netto started walking again.

See how it makes it look like one long sentance?
anywho thats just a suggestion I really like this fic so far and look forward to reading more Keep up the good work!

Oh yeah and this fic kinda reminds me of Harry Potter a little Laughing but I am kinda a big Harry Potter Fan anyway ^_^ Can't wait until next chapter.

Overall I think it is a good story, decent idea and a more creative title than I have thought of yet. Mugen I thought you were going to use, Rush Red, Tango Green, and Beat Blue for the houses. That is what you told me, ohwell not that big of a deal. But I do have to agree with HubHikari about the spacing between different characters talking it. Your lack of spacing makes it look to crowded.

Hub Hikari this story is supposed to be loosly based on Yugioh GX. That is why it seems similar to Harry Potter because of the school.

Glad you guys like it so far, and the spacing thing might have happened posting it, but I'll try to do what you said. But enough idle chat, here's Chapter 3!
______________
Chapter 3: New friends and new enemies.

They put Fuujin’s things in his room, then left to check out the campus. After a few minutes of walking Netto stopped.
“Here we are,” Netto stopped, pointing at a building with a sign that said Higure-ya. “This is the most popular place on campus,” Netto explained.
“What is it?” Fuujin wondered.
“It’s the chip shop!” Meiru told him.
“Awesome!” Fuujin’s eyes lit up as he rushed through the double doors into the shop. Fuujin ran from shelf to shelf, eyeing the merchandise ecstatically. “He’s drooling over these chips like I drool over curry!!” Netto laughed out loud. After a few moments of racing around the shop Fuujin rushed up to the counter with an armload of chips. A purple-haired girl with pigtails greeted him from behind the counter. “How much?” Fuujin blurted out! “Excuse me!?” The girl exclaimed, looking slightly confused.
“He wants to know how much the chips cost Shuko,” A tall man with messy brown hair and glasses explained, stepping through a door behind the counter. “Sorry, It’s her first day.” The man explained as he started ringing up the chips. “That’ll be 300 EP, huh,” the man told Fuujin.
“EP?” Fuujin wondered out loud.
“It stands for Exam Points,” Netto explained, as he walked up and stood next to him. “You get them after completing an exam battle. It’s like currency here. Do you have any yet?” Netto questioned.
“No.” Fuujin replied sadly. The brown-haired man turned to face Fuujin.
“New here, huh? Well for a new student I suppose I could let you have one chip on credit.” The man told him as he introduced himself. “My names Higure.”
“And I’m Shuko,” the girl said from behind the counter, blushing slightly.
“Hey,” Fuujin waved at her, introducing himself. “So, you said I could get one chip on credit?” Fuujin questioned, turning to Higure. He nodded. Fuujin searched through the pile of chips for one he liked. “I’ll take this one!” He exclaimed, holding up a chip with an image of a navi blocking a sword barehanded.
“Antisword, huh? Okay, lets see.” Fuujin handed him the chip. Higure checked the price guide on the shop computer. “Okay, you’ll owe me 5 EP for that, huh?” he asked, handing him the chip.
“Great!” Fuujin exclaimed, putting the chip in his sweatshirt pocket. “I’ll pay you back after my first exam… when will that be anyways?” He turned, asking Netto. Netto shrugged. The shop door clanged open as someone walked into the shop. It was a boy of Netto's height, with an eggshell shaped hairdo. He walked up to Fuujin.
“You’re new here,” he said as he introduced himself. “Lets see how strong you really are. I challenge you to a Netbattle!” Enzan said with confidence. He walked over to a cardboard cutout of Numberman, and plugged his navi into it.
“Okay!” Fuujin quickly rushed over and plugged his navi in. Both navi’s materialized inside the cutout’s cyber-world. Mugen was slightly shorter than Blues, and looked like a normal navi, except for the backpack and the face. The face was blue, and a scarf covered the lower half, draping slightly over the pack. The backpack was round like a bowl, and Mugen’s entire body was yellow. Blues rushed towards Mugen with blinding speed.
“Shadow, slot in!” Fuujin exclaimed. Mugen took on the shade of the shadows as Blues sped towards him.
“Useless.” Enzan jeered. “Longblade, slot in.” Blues quickly sliced Mugen with the blade, canceling the effect of Shadow. Mugen gripped his side in pain.
“What, he stopped Shadow? In that case lets try another, followed by Bubblewrap!” Fuujin exclaimed as he slotted in both chips.
“Hmph, never learn do you?” Enzan chuckled to himself as he slotted in a Neo Variable Sword. “Triple slash!” Blues quickly executed the three-slash combo, popping the bubble and hitting Mugen twice. Mugen was knocked back several feet, and landed on his knees. Blues raised his sword for the finishing blow. His blade was inches from Mugen’s head!
“Dream Aura, slot in!” The aura wrapped around Mugen, and Blues’ blade clattered helplessly into it, shattering. Blues stood, unharmed and looking at his shattered blade.
The battle was interrupted as both Net-ops PETs rang, indicating mail. Enzan looked at his e-mail, then turned to Fuujin.
“So you’re my next exam opponent.” He smiled to himself. “Blues, plug out, we don’t have time to waste on this weakling, we’ll save it for the exam.” Blues logged out, leaving Mugen a battered mess. Enzan turned to Fuujin. “You’d better train if you want to have a chance against us,” he said calmly, and then turned to walk out of the shop.
Fuujin collapsed in defeat. “Plug out Mugen,” he muttered, heartbroken.
“Fuujin,” Meiru and Netto screamed as they rushed to help him to his feet. “Are you all right?” they asked, looking very concerned.
“Complete defeat,” he said in shock. He got to his feet, as if in a trance. “I must become stronger!” he said, eyes filled with determination.

Mugen, just add an extra blank line between the people talking before you submit it, or go back right after submitting it and hit edit then add the needed spacing .

Chapter 4: Training, day one

"So Enzan's your next opponent?" Meiru asked.

"Yeah," Fuujin replied. "How do you beat a guy like that?" Netto turned to him.

"I'll help you!" he exclaimed. "Spar with Rockman. I'll tell you where you need to improve. I'll help you get stronger!" Fuujin looked at him with interest.
"Okay, but we'll need to train soon," he said, glancing at the e-mail he'd just recieved. "The exam battle is in two days!"

"We can start training tommorrow. I'm too busy tonight, but I'm free tommorrow." Netto said calmly to Fuujin.

"What!! But i've only got two days to train. I shouldn't waste the rest of today!" He exclaimed, staring at Netto in shock.

"Oh, crud. Hadn't thought of that. Well, I guess that Meiru could help you train. She's in the same house anyways, so it's convenient too!" Netto laughed to himslef.

"What!" Meiru interjected. "Don't I have a say in this!?" She said excitedly. "I'm not sure I'd be that much help... you really think I'd be a good teacher Netto?" she asked, blushing.

"Sure, why not?" Netto said without looking at her. "Its Fuujin's decision on whether you'd be a good teacher or not." He looked at Fuujin when he said this. "What do you think?"

"You'd be a great teacher Meiru." Fuujin said, turining towards her. Meiru blushed in embarrassement.

"Okay, I'll help!" Meiru exclaimed with a raised fist, and a glint in her eyes. "Fuujin, lets go and train. See you later Netto!" Meiru waved as her and Fuujin left the chip shop. They started walking towards Airshot Blue.

"So, what are you gonna teach me?" Fuujin asked Meiru. She stopped and looked at him.

"Not sure..." she paused to think. "First we should see what you do know. Um, do you know about Program Advances?" she asked. "Its where you use certain chips in a specific order to get a big attack." He shook his head in confusion. "Well lets see what chips you have." he pulled out the chip pouch of his backpack. She looked at all his chips, and shook her head in wonder. "You've made it this far with these!?" she asked in puzzlement. "These are nearly all defensive chips... you only have six truly offensive chips." she stopped again, and reached into her pocket, pulling out two battlechips. "Here, you already had one Fumikumi-cross, have two more. Now you just triple slot-in these and you've got your first program advance."

"Triple... slot-in?" he stuttered in confusion. She explained it to him. "Oh, I see. Cool, thanks for the tip." They arrived at the dorms, and stepped through the double doors, into the common room. There was a netbattle console in the center of the room, and a TV and several couches scattered around the room. They walked up to the console and plugged in their navis.

"Lets try out the Program Advance," she instructed him. Fuujin triple downloaded the three swords, and Mugen's arms glowed with power. He dashed forward several times, using the Fumikumi-zan 2. "Good." She smiled at him. "You're catching on quick."

"I wonder," he thought to himself while plugging out his navi. "I just got a great idea, let's see if it works."

"What are you doing?" she quickly asked him as the chips were ejected from his PETs storage compartment.

"I want to try out something," he said, pulling out two of his other chips. He plugged Mugen back in. "Ready Mugen?" he asked. Mugen nodded, and Fuujin raised the chips in preparation. Slot in Fumikumi-zan, Palidan-sword, Fumikumi-cross!" Mugen raised his arms downloading the three chips. "Program Advance, Akuretsuzan!!" he shouted after they were downloaded, rushing forward to use the three swords. A voice behind Fuujin startled them both, and the program advance fizzled. "What!?" he said in confusion. "It was working, what happened?" A voice behind him interupted.

"You need better sync with your navi for those kinds of program advance," the blue haired boy with glasses interupted. "Hi, my names Sho. You're new here, huh?" he asked.

"Uh, yeah," Fuujin muttered, scratching his head in puzzlement. "My names Fuujin." he said introducing himself.

"Well you must be pretty good, you nearly got that P.A. the first time. Me, I haven't mastered a single one." Meiru interupted him.

"Fuujin, back to the training!" she exclaimed in a tense voice.

"Oh, thats right. Sorry Sho, but I'm busy training. We can talk later okay?" Sho nodded, and Fuujin's concentration returned to practice. Meiru and him practiced Program Advances a few more times, not attempting the Akuretsuzan again. It got late and they decided to call it a night. Fuujin headed up the stairs to got to bed.

Chapter 5: Day two: A breakfast to remember!
The next morning Fuujin woke up to loud snoring in the bunk above him. "Quiet up there!” he whined, kicking the bottom of the bunk above him. A red-haired boy fell to the floor next to him, and the boy in the bed on the other side of the room rushed to help him.

"Aniki! Are you all right?" he asked with concern, helping the redheaded boy to his feet. The boy glared at Fuujin.

"Hey, why'd you knock me out of bed!" he shouted, fists clenched.
"Calm down Aniki!" Sho exclaimed. He looked to Fuujin as he held the boy back.

Fuujin rubbed his eyes then started talking. "Sorry about that, I didn't know these bunks were so flimsy." he apologized with a yawn. He climbed out of bed and introduced himself.

"Well be more careful next time." The boy exclaimed. "Well anyways, my names Judai, nice to meet you Fuujin." The boy shook Fuujin's hand. "I'm the number one Netbattler in this school!" Judai said braggingly. His stomach growled loudly, interrupting his gloat.

"Sounds like its time for breakfast, aniki!" Sho suggested. They rushed out of the room quickly, leaving Fuujin confused. A minute later as Fuujin was picking up his pack a head appeared in the doorway.

"Aren’t you coming to breakfast?" Sho asked quickly, and then darted off.

"Wait!" Fuujin exclaimed, swinging his backpack over his shoulder and rushing to catch up. He caught up to them outside the hostel, and they ran to the cafeteria. As they stepped inside a voice shouted to them from across the room.

“Hey guys come and join us!” Netto bellowed, urging them to have a seat at his table. They walked over to the table. There were 3 other people at the table besides Netto. There was a boy with wild orange hair, and he was scowling at a hooded boy seated next to Netto, who was shoveling food into his face. There was also a girl sitting next to the orange-haired boy, and she had the same colored hair as him. The hooded boy suddenly raised his plate to the sky.

“More please!” He exclaimed, waving the plate.

“Where do you put it all Dingo?” the orange-haired boy scowled at him. The girl sitting next to him smacked him on the back of the head with her plate. She gave him a stern look, then her look changed to a smile as she noticed Fuujin's group.

“Be nice Ichigo!” the girl said cheerfully, her attention turning to the three boys next to Netto. “We have company,” she got up to introduce herself. “I’m Orihime,” she politely said, extending a handshake. Fuujin started introducing himself, but was interrupted by Dingo once again shouting for food. A large boy with a chef’s hat walked towards them with a tray full of plates of curry. He set a plate in front of each of them. Fuujin looked at the plate in dismay.

“Curry for breakfast?” he questioned. Netto and Dingo stopped their piling of curry down their throats to look at him in shock. The large boy puffed out his chest in anger.

“You don’t like MY CURRY!?” he shouted angrily. Fuujin stared in shock as the boy started walking towards him. He quickly grabbed the plate of curry in self-defense, and the boy stopped. He looked at Fuujin, urging him to eat the curry, so he took a bite. His face went red, and his ears started steaming. The curry was obviously too hot. The large boy rushed towards him, and he cringed in fear, only to be embraced in a hug.

“So you do like my curry!” Dekao happily exclaimed, and Fuujin gasped for air in response. Dekao released him. “Okay, dig in!” he urged everyone to eat. Dingo and Netto needed no persuasion to resume stuffing themselves with the breakfast curry. Ichigo scoffed at them. “What, don’t like curry?” Dekao asked, fist raised. Ichigo quickly shoveled his plate of curry down in fear, and Orihime laughed at him. Meiru arrived to see an entire table of boys eating like pigs. She looked at them in shock, and then noticed Fuujin.

“Fuujin,” she called, interrupting his meal. “After breakfast you should start practicing for your battle.” She said sternly. “And Netto, you have curry on your collar,” Meiru muttered, bending down to pick the curry from his shirt, then she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Dingo suddenly covered his face, concealing a nosebleed. He rushed to the restroom to take care of it. “That got rid of him,” Meiru chuckled, sitting down next to Netto. They ate until Dingo got back, and then Netto stopped eating to look at his watch. His look changed from one of happiness to a look of panic.

“Oh no, I’m late for class,” he shouted, rushing to leave the table. Meiru grabbed him by the back of his shirt, stopping him from escaping. “Hey, quit it or I’ll miss class!” he yelled.

“It’s Saturday Netto,” she told him. “There’s no class today, and you already have plans, remember?” she interrogated him.

“Plans?” he thought to himself. He couldn’t remember any plans, but apparently he had them, so he pretended to know what she was talking about. “Oh, those plans! Right, how could I forget…um, what were they again exactly?” he asked dumbly.

“Idiot,” she slapped him. “Don’t tell me you forgot you promised to help Fuujin practice for his exam!” she said in exasperation, then turned to Fuujin. “Are you ready to go,” she asked, and he nodded. “Sorry for all the commotion,” she said politely to everyone at the table as she dragged Netto away by the ear. Fuujin followed, smiling and scratching his head in embarrassment. Dingo and Ichigo looked at each other in confusion, no idea what was going on. Orihime smiled and explained it to them. Ichigo and Dingo got up and chased after Netto, hoping they could help in some way, and Judai and Sho followed. At the table next to them a group of people from a different dorm stared at them as they left. A boy with black hair chuckled to himself.

“So that’s your next opponent, eh Enzan?” the dark-eyed boy said as he looked at Fuujin leaving. Enzan, who was sitting next to the boy, nodded.

“Yeah Manjyome, that’s him.” Enzan said coolly. He was with a group of Muramasa Black students, and one stepped up from the table, and spoke.

“Should I follow him?” the girl asked. She was short and had dark hair.

“If you really want to, Rukia,” Enzan replied as though he didn’t care at all. “I don’t think I’ll have anything to worry about,” he said, looking at his PET, “Isn’t that right Blues?”

“Of course master Enzan, him and his navi will be dust in the wind by the time we’re done with them.” Blue replied coldly. Manjyome laughed wildly, and the dark-haired girl turned and started walking away.

“Where are you going Rukia?” Manjyome asked as she turned to leave.

“I want to see just how strong this guy’s navi really is. I do hope, for your sake Enzan, that you do not underestimate him.” She left the cafeteria and raced to catch up to Fuujin and his group. Orihime followed her.

Good Job Mugen. Well one thing you should know is that it is okay for you to post your updates directly after another. There is no real need for you to edit a previous post just to update since that doesn't but it up and no one will see the topic has been updated. So if it is an update doublepost is aloud for the creator of the topic. Double posting is not alowed when just commenting on some thing. But good job.

Okay, good to know *thnx I guess*. Well, here's chapter 6. Hope you like it.

Chapter 6: The really long chapter!
Meiru led the group to one of the school’s many Netbattling arenas, still dragging Netto by his ear. When they arrived she let go of his ear and took out her PET. “Everybody plug in!” she instructed the group. “You too Netto-kun,” she said as he held his ear in pain, “Just ‘cause your ear hurts is no reason to break a promise!” Netto plugged in, still clutching his ear in pain. Rukia was outside the arena, looking in through a window. Orihime tapped her on the shoulder, making her jump.

“What are you doing?” she questioned Rukia. “Are you spying…” Rukia bowed her head in embarrassment, “-are you spying on Ichigo!!” Orihime exclaimed angrily.

“What, no!” Rukia waved her hands as if dismissing the idea.

“Good, because he’s my boyfriend, not yours.” Orihime said, smiling politely and bending to look through one of the lower windows. “You know you are allowed in there.” She said, stating the obvious. “So why don’t you and I go inside and watch. Spying through this window is hurting my back!” Rukia looked at her in puzzlement. “I know you’ve probably already decided to spy on Fuujin-san, and tell Enzan-kun his strategy right? I know your minds probably already made up.” She said intuitively. She took a step towards the door, then turned to say one more thing. “But if you do feel like actually meeting the kid, and not just watching from a far, then you’re free to follow me. The doors always open… you don’t always have to watch from the shadows.” She stepped into the arena, leaving Rukia confused and not sure what to do.

“I’ve always watched from the shadows,” she thought to herself, “always detached, like I don’t belong with the group. Spying on peoples opponents, and exposing their strategies made me feel like I was helping, like I was part of a group.” She bowed her head in thought, frowning. “I don’t think I want to do this anymore… but I’m not sure what to do…” she trailed off, deep in thought, watching Fuujin and his friends through the window.

Inside the arena everyone was busy talking and it looked to her like they were having fun. Fuujin and Netto were talking, and Netto was pointing to Sho, who was shaking his head to something they had said.

“No, why do I have to battle him first?” Sho whined. “Aniki, tell them. I’m not going to be much help to him. Tell them!” he pleaded. Judai shook his head.

“Come on Sho, you’re not that weak. Not as strong as me though, but still strong enough.” He said braggingly.

“Really aniki?” Sho said with excitement. “Okay, if aniki believes in me I’ll do it!” he exclaimed. “Plug in Patroman, execute!” he shouted as the beam of light from his PET hit the infrared sensor on the console. The monitor that hung from the ceiling displayed Sho’s navi. It looked like a freakishly cartoonish police car, with a siren for a symbol. Its engine rumbled as it prepared to battle. Mugen appeared next to the tiny car.

“Ready to battle?” the scarf-wearing navi asked. Patroman nodded excitedly, revving its engine again. Rukia watched as the battle started, and Patroman charged at Mugen. She felt sad that she couldn’t join in on the fun. She felt so excluded. Judai shouted at Sho in a coaching manner. The battle finished with Mugen leaping on top of Patroman's hood, and stabbing the windshield with a Paladin Sword.

“No!” Sho whined. “Aniki, I thought you said I could win!” He complained. Judai clenched his fist in excitement.

“He’s a strong opponent! This should be a great battle. I’ll beat him for you Sho.” He said as he stepped up to the console. “Plug in Django execute, transmission!” he yelled with fire in his eyes. Django appeared, ready for battle. “Go!” Judai yelled as the battle started.

“Shadow, slot in!” Fuujin shouted as he slid the chip into the PET.

“Sword Del Sol, slot in!” Django clenched his fist and a shining sword grew from it. He rushed towards Mugen, sword in hand. Mugen raised his Vulcan buster to fire at Django.

“Barrier, slot in!” A barrier surrounded Django as he continued his mad dash at Mugen.

“Feel the power of the sun!” Django screamed as he slashed Mugen’s arm before he could fire again. Mugen recoiled in pain as Django raised the blade for a second strike.

“Dream Aura, slot in!” Mugen was shielded as the aura wrapped around him. He looked to find Django, who’d mysteriously vanished from sight. “Where is he!?” Mugen exclaimed, looking around rapidly.

“Right here!” Django replied from atop the aura. “Gun Sol!!” he yelled as he lowered his gun to point at Mugen. The rays of heat pierced the aura, burning Mugen! Mugen plugged out.

“I lost again.” Fuujin muttered sadly.

“Want to’ know why?” Netto asked.

“Yeah,” Fuujin replied.

“You rely too much on defense. Shadow and Dream Aura are great chips, but they each have a weakness. If you really want to power up your navi’s defense you should use your Navi-Cust.” He walked over to show Fuujin what he was talking about. Fuujin looked at the inside of his PET.

“So this is a Navi-Cust?” he questioned. Netto nodded, handing him a couple programs.

“You can have these.” He told him. “The first one’s a Shield and the other two are a First Barrier and Undershirt.” Fuujin slid the three programs in place and screwed the cover back on to the PET.

“Thanks Netto-kun,” he smiled, “and thanks for the battle Judai. I learned a lot from it.”

“Just doing my job!” he smiled. Ichigo scowled at him.

“Quit bragging!” he called out. Orihime, who was standing next to him, laughed.

“My turn!” Dingo interrupted, rushing to stand next to Fuujin. “Plug in Tomahawkman, transmission!” Fuujin plugged Mugen back into the console, and they started battling. A barrier sprung up around Mugen at the start of the battle, and he rushed towards the totem pole that had just appeared.

“Paladin Sword!” he exclaimed, slashing the glowing totem in two. Tomahawkman fell from where he was perched on top if the pole. Mugen took a step forward and was in front of him.

“Tomahawk Swing!” Tomahawkman yelled as he swung his giant weapon. Mugen quickly blocked it with his shield, then took a step back.

“Fumikumi cross, triple slot in! Program Advance!” Fuujin yelled as a blade appeared on each of Mugen’s arms. Mugen crossed the blades, and quickly rushed towards Tomahawkman, blades inches from slicing the navi in two. Tomahawk logged out. Dingo sighed.

“Too close.” He muttered. Netto pushed him aside.

“Looks like you’ve been practicing.” Netto exclaimed with a fire in his eyes. “Lets see how you do against me and Rockman!” he smiled, PET clenched in his fist. “Plug in Rockman execute, transmission!” the blue bomber appeared next to Mugen in the Netbattle computer.

“Nice to meet you, Lets have a great battle,” he smiled, shaking Mugen’s hand. Mugen nodded, and they prepared to battle.

“Sword, slot in!” Netto shouted. Rockman leapt into the air to strike Mugen.

“Metgaurd, Paladin Sword, slot in!” Fuujin exclaimed, slotting in both the chips with a vengeance. A shield appeared on Mugen’s left arm, and the large sword on his right. He blocked Rockman’s slash with the shield, knocking it back in his face. It left a big cut on his cheek, and after he landed he chuckled to himself.

“Not bad,” he smiled, wiping the blood from his wound. “But you’ll have to do better than that!” he yelled as his hand morphed into another sword. He ran at Mugen, and their blades clashed. They pushed each other back and forth until Mugen broke the tie with a large slash that made Rockman jump back to avoid the cut. Mugen stopped for a second after the slash. The sword vanished, and he was left weaponless.

“Here’s my chance!” Rockman shouted as he leapt into the air to slash the unguarded opponent.

“Oh no!” Rukia thought to herself. “That kids navi doesn’t stand a chance!” she frowned as she watched Mugen raise his Vulcan buster to try and stop Rockman mid-attack.

“That won’t work!” Netto yelled as he grabbed a chip from his pocket. “Area steal, slot in!” Rockman appeared right in front of Mugen. “Better not fire point blank! Your navi could get destroyed!” Netto shouted to Fuujin.

“I won’t give up so easily!” Fuujin and Mugen replied together with determination in their voices. “Fire now Mugen!!” Fuujin commanded his navi. Mugen aimed at Rockman’s blade and fired. A blinding flash lit the area, and the screen went white. Everyone looked at the screen in shock.

Mugen Woof Woof, that was chapter six not 7. Nice chapter, introduction of the Navi Cust along with the style change. To me it seems a bit rushed and I am sure that others would say the same. And of course since Mugen has a double style it is non elemental. Well keep up the good work Mugen.

Well anyways here's chapter 7. Also, I improved on a few of the previous chapters, making them less rushed. Thanks for the criticism.

Chapter 7: Nice to meet you, I will beat you.

“Where’s Rockman!” Roll yelled with concern. She was with the group of navis in the computer who were watching the battle. She looked around wildly from her seat in the spectator area, searching for a sign of him. The battlefield was covered in a huge cloud of smoke and dust.

“What just happened!” Ichigo and Dingo shouted in unison. Orihime stared at the screen in confusion.

“Where is he!?” She exclaimed looking at the nearly blank screen. Sho fell to his knees.

“Aniki.” He questioned, with fear in his eyes. Judai concentrated on the screen, as the smoke cleared to reveal a strange scene. Mugen had his Vulcan raised, but there was a shield stuck to the end of it, and Rockman was hanging in midair, blade resting against the shield. This only lasted for a split-second, then Rockman fell to his knees, looking at Mugen in disbelief.

Mugen looked very different than when the battle had started. His helmet was like Rockman’s, but bits of it were flickering, as if the data were damaged. On his left arm he had a shield near the wrist, and his backpack had two large crescents hovering behind it, in an X pattern. He looked at his arms in amazement, then collapsed. Rockman rushed to help him to his feet. Rukia looked at the screen with a smile on her face.

“I knew there was something special about this kid,” she said, stepping into the arena. Everyone looked at her. Ichigo did a double take. “She looks familiar,” he thought.

“What do you mean?” Netto and Fuujin exclaimed as she stepped towards them. She raised her hand to point at the screen. “Style change,” she smiled politely.

“Style change?” Fuujin questioned. “What’s that, and who the hell are you?”

“I’m Rukia Kuchiki,” she smiled, “and as for the other question… how do I explain that?” she stopped and thought for a minute. Netto interrupted her thinking.

“Oh I know what that is!” he blurted. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow. The others looked at him with interest. “My dad told me about it. He said that when you use a certain strategy enough your navi might adapt to that strategy, and evolve! Let me take a look at Mugen.” He asked. Fuujin plugged Mugen out, and cautiously handed him his PET, and he looked at it. “Hmmmm, interesting…” he trailed off.

“What?” Fuujin asked with concern. Netto looked up from the screen to speak to him.

“It looks like Shield Style, but… It’s also has elements of another style in it. That’s strange, usually only one style would work at a time, but your navi…” he trailed off again in thought, then pulled out a screwdriver and started unscrewing the back of the PET.

“What are you doing!” Fuujin exclaimed.

“Your Navi-Cust has a problem, the First Barrier I gave you is touching the shield, and both of them are the same color so it caused a glitch! I guess I should have told you about all that when I gave you those programs.” He said in embarrassment. “Well, anyways you got a dual-style change… Bug-Shield Style I guess.” Netto shrugged. Fuujin looked at him like he was crazy.

“Bug… Shield?” he asked in an uncertain tone. Netto nodded. “So this should make Mugen stronger?” he asked. Netto shrugged.

“Not sure, this hasn’t really happened before. Usually one would only get a single style, and you got two. Your navi has bugs in its system as well, and they could be good or bad. That reflect buster was a good one, but it could get worse…” Rukia stopped him mid-thought.

“I guess you’ll just have to test it out with a Netbattle!” she told Fuujin. “Nice to meet you. I’ll be your next opponent.” She smiled as she plugged her navi into the computer.

“Plug in Shinigami, transmission!” Rukia’s navi appeared inside the console. It was wearing a dark cloak with an emblem on the back. The emblem was an orange flame within a red flame. Shinigami wore a large hood, and at the ends of the long sleeves red gloves could be seen sticking out slightly. There was a strange katana at her side. Shinigami tapped her foot impatiently. “I’m waiting.” Rukia said tersely.

“Oh, right, Plug in Mugen execute, transmission!” the beam of light hit the plug-in sensor, and Mugen appeared within.

“I’ve been waiting,” Shinigami said in a hushed voice. “Lets get this started then!” Shinigami sped towards Mugen with blinding speed and her right hand reached out of her sleeve.

“Where’s my First Barrier!” Mugen exclaimed as the female navi sped towards him. A second later she was standing behind Mugen, looking at her glove. A blinding flash lit the area and Mugen clenched his chest in pain. He raised his head to scan for his opponent, then stopped. He was staring into someone else’s eyes.

“What?” he exclaimed as he looked at the strange figure before him. “Why do you look like me!?” He ducked as the copy slashed at him with a Paladin Sword.

“How do you like my shadow copy?” she yelled to him as he continued dodging copy Mugen’s wild slashes. “It’s just as strong as you, but it’s already mastered the style change. How will you win?” She gave an evil laugh.
The First Barrier kicked in as she asked this, only to be stopped by a slash from the shadow clones blade. Mugen leapt back a few steps and started thinking of an attack plan.

“Fuujin-kun, send me a chip!” he yelled to his operator. Fuujin quickly reached into his pocket for a chip.

“Wait, I forgot about this one,” he muttered, slotting the chip he found into his PET. Copy Mugen raised his sword again, ready to strike.

“Fuujin-kun? Did you send me the chip yet?” Mugen asked as his copy rushed towards him, blade in hand. He leapt to slice him from above, but suddenly was frozen, as if caught in a trap. Mugen caught the blade in his right hand, and kicked the copy back a few feet. “Oh.” He said in stupidity. “Anti-Sword!” he sent three sonic booms across the field towards his clone. The clone looked on helplessly as the sonic booms closed in on him. At the last second it raised a shield to block the attack. After the third slash was stopped it got to its feet and raised its Vulcan. “No, it didn’t work!” Mugen panicked as the copy fired at him.

“Mugen, fire your buster!” Fuujin yelled to his navi. Mugen raised the buster to fire, and a shield appeared on the tip. He blocked the blade with the shield and the attack was reflected, deleting the clone. Mugen sighed in relief.

“Hmmm, impressive. You defeated yourself… but I’m not done yet!!” Shinigami yelled as she flew at him in a blind rage.

“Lets try this again!” Fuujin shouted as he slot in three chips quickly. Mugen raised his arms to receive the data.

“That’s enough Shinigami!” Rukia interrupted her. Shinigami stopped mid-dash.

“But Rukia-dono! I’m not finished with the navi… I was just about to win! Why?” Shinigami pleaded. Rukia looked at her with concern.

“You were so blinded by your rage you didn’t see their moves… had you went a step further they would have deleted you. Fuujin-san, were you about to use a Program Advance?” She asked. Fuujin nodded.

“Yeah, the Akuretsuzan.” He answered.

“You see?” she asked her navi. Shinigami nodded in embarrassment.

“Gomen Rukia-dono, gomen ne sai. I wont let myself be blinded by rage again. She plugged out. Rukia stepped away from the console, and turned to face Fuujin.

“Your navi and you are very strong.” She told him. “You may be able to defeat Enzan after all.” She smiled politely, then noticed who was in the crowd. “Oh, Ichigo-chan,” she waved to Ichigo, who covered his face in embarrassment. She rushed over to talk with him, leaving Fuujin alone with his thoughts.

“Was she just toying with us?” he asked Mugen after he returned to his PET.

“I’m not sure,” Mugen replied. “She’s a strong one, I’ll give her that. If her attack hadn’t been called off I don’t know what would have happened. I wasn’t really ready to use the Akuretsuzan yet.” He trailed off as he noticed the group of people walking towards him.

“Great job!” Netto said, patting him on the back. “I knew you could do it!”

“No you didn’t!” Meiru interrupted him angrily. “You were saying you didn’t think he was ready to beat someone from Muramasa Black! You said he needed more practice! You said…” Netto covered her mouth to stop her ranting.

“Never mind what she says, I have full faith in you now!” Netto smiled. Meiru calmed down and Netto uncovered her mouth. “Sorry about that Meiru-chan, I didn’t want you repeating what I said before. I was just worried about him, that’s all. Anyways,” he said after Meiru accepted his apology, “Do you think you’re ready to beat Enzan?” Netto asked.

“I still need to practice,” Fuujin answered him. Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at him.

“More practice?” they all said.

“But it’s almost lunch,” Netto whined. His stomach grumbled loudly. Meiru glared at him.

“All you ever think about is food!” Meiru yelled. Her stomach growled, interrupting her. Everyone sweatdropped. “Okay, lunch first, and then we can practice some more.” She sighed, holding her stomach.

“Great! Food! Bet I can eat more than you Netto!” Dingo dared him.

“No way!” Netto yelled as Dingo and him ran out the door to go to lunch.

“Boys,” Meiru shook her head, then looked at the remaining group. Ichigo was trapped between Orihime and Rukia. Rukia was hugging his arm tightly and Orihime was trying to push her off his arm. He looked at her pleadingly.

“Help me,” he implored. Fuujin walked over to him, and started dragging Rukia away. Meiru went to help him.

“Good, now I have him all to myself!” Orihime smiled as she hugged his other arm. Ichigo looked at her in embarrassment.

“Do you have to do that in public?” he asked.

“Do what?” she replied happily.

“Never mind” he sighed as she hugged him even tighter. “Lets just go to lunch.” She smiled and nodded. Rukia broke free of Fuujin and Meiru’s grip and tackled Ichigo. He walked out the door dragging the two girls with him, one on each side. Meiru and Fuujin laughed. She turned to him.

“Seriously though, are you ready for your fight with Enzan?” she looked at him with concern.

“Yeah,” He replied looking at his PET. “I just hope Mugen is.” Mugen was resting within. “Rest up, you deserve it. Well, changing the subject, how about some lunch!” he asked, cracking a smile. She nodded and they left the arena.

Interesting chapter, very interesting. I like the abilities you gave Rukia's navi, and I can't wait to see a battle with Ichigo's navi.

Well, I've been very busy, but I finally got around to posting the next chapter, so here it is. Enjoy!
_____
Chapter 8: Enzan Vs. Fuujin: Battle Begin!
Fuujin yawned as he left the arena for the second time that day. “That was a good day of training. I should be ready for the match tomorrow now.” Netto turned to him.

“You hear about the assembly tomorrow?” Fuujin stopped walking.

“Assembly?”

“Yeah, before your battle there should be an opening day assembly. Classes should start on Monday.” Netto replied.

“I have to battle in front of the entire school?” Fuujin asked with a tinge of fear in his voice.

“What, you have stage-fright?” Netto asked derisively.

“No,” Fuujin snorted.

“Good,” Netto replied as they arrived at Airshot Blue. “By the way, these are for good luck.” Netto gave Fuujin a handful of chips. “I picked them out because they reminded me of you.” Fuujin stared at the four chips he’d received.

“Fuujin Racket?”

“Yeah…” Netto said as he turned to skate off. “Good luck!”

“Wait…” Fuujin looked at the handful of chips. “What good are these?” Fuujin wondered as he stepped into the Hostel. The lights were off and a stereo was blaring.

“SURPRISE!” Fuujin fell out the doorway in shock.

“Don’t do that!” Fuujin yelled as he stepped back into the entrance hall. There was a banner above the door that said “Good Luck”, and a group of people standing in the common room. He stepped towards them. “What’s going on?”

“It’s a surprise party, Fuujin!” Meiru shouted over the commotion. Fuujin looked at her in disbelief.

“What for?”

A man holding a cat stepped out of the crowd and replied “You’ll be Netbattling in front of the entire school tomorrow, won’t you?”

“Uh… I heard something about that.” he looked around for some familiar faces, and saw Yaito and Shuko standing next to his cousin. The man with the cat walked towards him.

“I’m Mr. Daitokuji,” Fuujin shook his hand, then turned to leave.
He started climbing the stairs.

“Well, I’d better get some rest for tomorrow,” he waved, “Have a fun party!” Everyone stared at him as he stepped out of sight.

“He did realize the party was for him, didn’t he?” Shuko asked the red haired girl standing next to her.

“I don’t think so.” Anetta replied. Someone turned off the lights.

“I’m sad now.” Shuko said as she fumbled through the darkness to find her room.

~The Next Day~

“Wake up Fuujin-kun! You don’t wanna’ miss the assembly!” Judai shouted as he shook him. Fuujin rolled over and hit Judai on the head. Judai shook him again. Fuujin hit him again.

“Why won’t the snooze button work?” he yawned, still asleep. Judai pulled the covers off the bed, taking Fuujin with them. Fuujin woke up shortly after the collision with the ground. He yawned as he looked at his watch.

“Oh crud, I’m late!!” Fuujin rushed to gather his things as Judai shook his head.

“I told you!” Fuujin ran out the door. “What, no thank you?”

Fuujin ran to the assembly hall and burst through the back doors in time to catch the tail end of the speech.

“-and without further ado I introduce your House Heads,” a man with blond hair and lips covered in red lipstick motioned towards a group of teachers, some of which wore their House Colors. “First, Head of Muramasa Black, Ms. Kuroi!”

“Call me Miyuki!” The woman interrupted. Chronos (the man in lipstick) looked at her with impatience.

“Right. May I continue?” Miyuki nodded. “All right. Next we have head of Airshot Blue, Mr. Daitokuji!” Daitokuji rose from his seat holding his cat high.

“This is Pharaoh!” he shouted with glee.

“Ahem, may I once again continue?” Chronos looked very annoyed. Daitokuji nodded. “Our final house leader is a man who needs no introduction. Wave to your fans Eguchi-san!” Meijin glared at Chronos.

“San wa irenai!” he quickly retorted, them paused to wave to the audience.

“Anyways, before the rest of your teachers are introduced I would like to turn your attention to the Netbattle computer next to me. This is a special treat for all you students. The first exam battle of the school year will be held right here.” He motioned to the computer next to him. Enzan was standing next to it, waiting impatiently.

“Now, as soon as one of our promising first-years shows up we can see some sparks fly!” Fuujin sneezed, drawing Chronos’s attention to him. He was trying to get a seat in the front row. “Ahem, boy. Yes you.” Fuujin looked around in confusion. “Yes you, get up here and Netbattle.”

Fuujin did as he was told.

“So you’re the Fuujin I’ve heard so much about from Meijin-san.” Fuujin looked like he was about to faint. “Begin!” He jeered without warning.

“Plug in Blues, transmit!”

“Plug in Mugen.exe, transmit!”

“Ready for our rematch?” Blues asked.

“Oh, you better count on it!” Mugen raised his Vulcan. His First Barrier kicked in.

“Fumikumi-zan, slot in!” Blues sprang forward to strike Mugen. Mugen unintentionally moved to the left, causing Blues to miss.

“Nice dodge!” Fuujin called to Mugen “Airshoes, slot in!”

“It wasn’t me!” Mugen retorted as he Blues sped towards him. He leapt onto the sword tip and charged his buster.

“Get off!” Blues shook the sword frantically. Mugen jumped again and released his charged attack in Blues face. A large rock-cube hit him squarely in the jaw.

From in the crowd Netto looked at the battle on the display screen. “Wow,
haven’t seen him do that before!”

Blues wiped his chin. “YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT!!”

“Let me try that again!” Mugen laughed as he charged his buster.

“Get away from me!” Blues yelled as he dashed to the right. Mugen
released his charged shot, creating another rock-cube.

“Cool!”

Blues appeared behind Mugen, surprising him.
“Got you!” He yelled as he swung his sword at Mugen’s back. Clang. The blade was blocked by the crescents of light on his back. “Huh!?” Blues exclaimed as the crescents spun around, reflecting the attack. Blues landed wounded behind Mugen.

“Neat little trick.” Enzan muttered calmly. “Reminds me of Serenade… not a problem though, we beat her!!” Enzan suddenly shouted as he slotted in four chips.

“You think you can beat us so easily! Well I’ve got two words for you! Bloody Quartet!!” A blade appeared on each of Blues’ arms and shoulders. Mugen collapsed as Blues slashed him a new one.
