The fate of the YuGiOh GX dub

Heh... on the dub website, right-click the name links and hit "properties". You'll see that the people who make the website use the sub names in the gif names ^^;;

And now I must ask... Chumley Huffington? I think they got a writer from Digimon Tamers on staff... Kazu always called Takato "chumley" in the dub ^^;;

I don't mind Alexis, though. They definitely could have done worse *points to "Tea"*

I just wonder... they're keeping Yuki's first name the same, so why change his last name? They kept Yugi's (and Seto's and Mokuba's) full name. It just makes no sense to me ^^;;

I just want to know if that scary-looking dude (the dub is gonna call him Veilian (sp?)... wtf?) is going to refer to Yuki as the "dropout boy" in the dub. If that happens I can be happy.

And I'll refrain from my "Slifer vs. Osiris" rant because I don't want Ryouko-sama to get angry at me. All I can say is... at least the dub's consistant?

I'll watch it, though... provided my cable provider stops being stupid and gives me back the WB.

I can be fine with Alexis and Zane, but Chazz means no more Manjyome Thunder!

Meh, being deeply into the Yugioh fandom, I've grown used to dubs. I've been through every bad Yugioh dub name from Mai Valentine to Alister, so it's nothing new. Personally, I don't mind the name changes. I'm actually looking forawrd to the dub, to see what they do with it. If it's good, I'll be happy, it's it's not...then I have a new thing to make fun of Smile

Either or, it's all good in my opinion.

I dislike the new dub names. I personally think they could have done better with the names...since the names really don't seem to fit the personalities of the characters. Then again Tristian and Tea didn't fit either. >_>; Understandable people can't pronouce most Japanese names...but Chumely sounds like a Harry Potter reject o.o

I found two translations for "judai" in my nifty dictionary. One is "teens", the other is "serious; important". "Important courage" sounds like a decent name. What's Jaden mean? *checks*Not in my dictionary.. hm... maybe that's cause it doesn't mean anything?

My point is, the names mean something. I'm still against the changes.

I noticed in my friends Shonen Jump, they had a little article about GX, and it said Brought to you by 4KIDS.TV that would explain why WB hasn't finished with the Pharo Memory Arc, because they will be stupid and keep that on WB and start airing the series with the ruined names(they should of kept Judai's name because they did that with yugi and changed practically everyone elses.) on 4Kids.

TV that would seriously bite since shows on 4Kids TV are seriously kiddified. such as Mew Mew, they changed the overal meaning of the series from focussing on protecting nature to trying ot fall in love while fighting with the aliens.

And they turned Sanji's cigarette into a sucker. Plus when it isn't in his mouth the edited it out of his hand so it is a magical Sucker!

Not to sure on the kidification of Shaman King because I don't really pay attention to it that much but yeah.

I wonder what they will do to ruin Doremi, oh wait it is allready creepy and kidified.

SUPER SENSETIVE KIDIFICATION RAY, FIRE!!!!

It would really bite if GX and the melenium arc were aired in the same timeslot.(gx of 4Kids, and Melenium on WB) considering GX is supposed to start in september and They haven't started the next yugioh arc yet on wb and September is 24 days away

TRue, we don't, but it is a little sad to see that taken away from Shou's character. Why he calls Judai that is a big part of his character that's delt with early on in the show....

Actually, having English names would be much easier than using the Japanese names. For me, anyways. Much easier to remember.
