Well according to Megaman Network, most of the bosses (in the first game anyway) are supposed to be named after mythological creatures and gods. Leviathan is named after the Leviathan, a sea moster from the bible and Harpuia is possibly named after the Harpis, a mythological birdlady. Maha Ganesherrif is named for the Hindu god Ganesh, and Herculios Anchus is probably named after the Greek god Hercules. Anubis Necromancees is named after the Egyption god of death Anubis, and Hanumachine is named after Hanuman, another Hindu god that appeared as a monkey. Aztec Falcon is named after the Aztec civilization, and Tretesta Cerberian is named after the three headed dog of Greek mythology Cerberus.

If I remember correctly, Nidhogg was the dragon that guarded the tree of the world, Yggdrasil. Fenrir was the huge wolf that was tricked by the gods and imprisioned using the Gleipnir to hold him. It also killed Odin during Ragnarok.
Fafnir, though, was a dwarf that turned into an evil dragon.
From Wikipedia:
Quote: | In Norse mythology, Fafnir was a son of the dwarf king Hreidmar and brother of Regin and Otr. In the Volsunga saga, Fafnir was a dwarf gifted with a powerful arm and fearless soul. He wore the Aegis helmet and guarded his father's house of glittering gold and flashing gems. He was the strongest and most aggressive of the three brothers.
After Otr was killed by Loki, Hreidmar received the cursed gold of Andvari's as repayment for the loss of his son. Fafnir and Regin then killed their father to get the gold, but Fafnir decided he wanted it all, turning into a dragon (symbol of greed). Regin then sent his foster-son, Sigurd, to kill the dragon. Sigurd succeeded, but then killed Regin too, upon learning that he had planned to kill him once he had recovered the gold. |
It's easy to get the two confused though. =/ _________________

Searchman X, that was already stated above in a previous post. Please read before you make a comment on something to make sure you don't repeat what has already been said in the topic.
Adding to the part about Omega, it is also used as a symbol for the end. It is used often in conjuction with Alpha, meaning the begining for form "The Beginning and The End". These are used in either ancient text, paintings, or in plays. _________________

I think Tetsuka Osamu just try to give the cool name that factor. Omega has nothing relate to evil, at least for my knowledge.
Like Pegasolta, all of RMZ4 's boss based from Mythical character:
Minos Magnus=Minotaur
Sol Titanya=Titania the fairy queen in Shakespear 's novel(MidsummerNight dream?).
Fenrir Lunaedge= One of Loki 's children Fenrir that other mentioned.
Chicken boy= Cockaratice, the chicken that has petrification eye.
Tech Kraken= Kraken is the sea monster in Greek mythology.
Nobel Mandragora= Mandrag is the mystical plant.
Heat Genblem=Genbu, the japanish turtle god that guard south(or maybe other direction, I can't remember) Other direction guardian are Dragon, Phoenix and White Tiger. Zuchiaomon from digimon was also based from this god, too.
I wonder more about the snake boss from RZ2,Urobockle?I don't know much about this character, but in Full Metal Alchemist, It 's the name of the mark that seven Homunkuluses have. The mark looks like the star with Dragon. Can anyone give more info about it? |

Blizzack Stagroff is simply "Blizzard Stag" with some liberties taken with the name, in order to give it a sound of ethnicity. _________________
