I want it so badly...But my parents wouldn't allow me to open the internet bank account (You have to use somethings like that to order it, right?) Maybe I will ask my dad to buy it in next time he visit Japan...The DVD should be sell in market at that moment now.

Hmm... somewhat random question for anyone who orders from CD Japan often...

I tried to order the first volume of Stream a while back, but they were apparently out of stock (though they claimed they had plenty in stock when I initially ordered)... so, the order was taking way too long to ship. It never got charged to my account, even though the order was processed, so I cancelled the order.

But I just pre-ordered the movie yesterday (and the order was processed), and already, it's been charged to my account... but for a different price than the e-mail CD Japan sent to me (39 something, but I got charged 38 something). I know currency conversion fluctuates, like, every day... but does that mean it's going to constantly fluctuate IN my account until the movie is released and shipped?

I'm also kind of confused, because my statement doesn't say "CD Japan" in it... a bunch of seemingly random gibberish with "Tokyo" thrown in (so I assumed it was CD Japan)...

Stupid, stupid questions, I'm sure... but I'm uber paranoid about my checking account. I like to keep it 100% accurate...

What usually happens is that CD Japan charges your account in yen, then your bank or credit card company will use their own exchange rates to determine how much it comes out to in American currancy.

Once you've been charged, that should be the final price.

I'm surprised...I wonder why you got charged so quickly? My e-mail says they won't charge until they ship it. o.o

Yeah... I was balancing my check book today... a couple receipts and my payroll, and I came up with about 40 dollars more than what my online banking said. So, I checked the statements and this came up:

(And some miscellaneous numbers which I won't post... in case they mean something you shouldn't know.)

(Is CD Japan displayed in your statements like this?) Anyway, so this charged me $38.88... but my e-mail from CD Japan says they charged me 4300 yen (which they converted to $39.25). Since it's not that big a difference, I figure it was such currency conversion insanity... But then, directly under that, it says "Charge for this order will be made after we ship it."

So, I'm pretty confused here. The only other thing I've ever ordered from CD Japan was Stream Vol. 1, which was out of stock at the time of my order, so I cancelled the order... it was never charged or anything. I still have my e-mail from CD Japan that they cancelled my order...

Don't worry about exchange rates. CDJapan's converted rate is just an estimation. What you are actually charged in US$ depends on your card, your company or bank, and the day it is placed on your card.

Last time I ordered from CDJapan, my CC had a pending payment of $299.07, and then it disappeared for 2 weeks before the actual charge went on my card. The actual charge itself ended up being $303.59 instead of $299.

I remember seeing some cards or pamphlets or something Ryouko scanned, and it had character bios... it included: Netto/Rockman, Yuuichirou, Higure/Numberman, Barrel/Colonel, Forte, [spoil:e544da1de2]young Wily, Dr. Regal,[/spoil:e544da1de2] Manabe, Kifune, Tohru, Shuuko, Kero (on tv), Laika/Searchman, Enzan/Blues, Charlie/Gyroman, Dingo/Tomahawkman, Meijin, Mariko, Dekao, Chisao, and Meiru.

It's sorta interesting who did and did not get included in the movie. I'm really surprised Tohru got any kind of role. Even more interesting, it seems his clothes changed colors too. I thought it was just the lighting of that shot before, but now I see that his red undershirt is clearly blue now. (The yellow hoodie now has a blue tint too.) These colors make much more sense... but I wonder why the change (and why only in the movie).

Yuuichirou is Lan's dad, Higure is Higsby,Barrel is Baryl, Forte is Bass, Manabe is Manwella (wtf..), Kifune is Keifer, Kero is Ribitta, Laika is Raika, Meijin is Famous, Mariko is Ms. Mari, Dekao is Dex, and Meiru is Mayl(u).

And Manabe is Manuela (it's a Spanish name).

You needn't necessarily have a Region 2 locked DVD player to play the movie.

If your standalone DVD player can't play Region 2 DVDs, odds are somebody out there has a firmware hack to remove the region restrictions. The best would be an older APEX DVD player, since many are region free and most of the rest have a slew of firmware hacks. Note that this will void your warrantee.

As for software solutions, you have a number of options. The best IMO is DVD Region+CSS Free. If you'd rather use something free, there's always DeCSS.
