I was thinking of how long some anime can be. And I was wondering. What does everyone else out there like better???
Now there's long anime (like Gash Bell, One Piece, Naruto, Etc) that so far have around 100-200 episodes or more and are still going.
Avreage anime that's around 50 or less episodes
And short anime that's like around 30 or less episodes (Like FLCL, Loveless, Tenjo Tenge, etc)
I myself like avrage anime. Because with the long stuff.... well think about buying all of thoes DVDs or downloading it. (Or it could be put on T.V. but the chances of it being good after that are slim) I think I could just stick to one long anime and that's it.
While with average anime you can buy/download it without that much trouble (maybe a little for thoes buying the DVDs)
So what do you all think??? |

Some times I like long anime when it is on tv, except for when the stupidness makes you wait 3 months or more just to see another 20 episodes then you have to wait some more. That is what makes Long Animes on tv bad.
average are good but sometimes they can leave you wanting more. But more often that seems to be the case for short animes.
So in otherwords it isn't the legnth of the anime but the actual story that intrests me, so yeah I don't care about legnth usually. |

I prefer short ones (-20 episodes). Those with more episodes tend to be tiring (if you know what I mean), and moreso if the chapters are made up of 10-20 episodes ...
In my opinion though, a story and it's execution is more important than the number of episodes. If it is REALLY good, heck, I'd buy me a +30-episode title :] . _________________ My deviantART... |

I agree depends on the story not the legnth some anime sucks even if it is less then 20 episodes because of the fact that they don't tell the story good enough.
Same goes for the long anime that spend like 20 episodes for one day(DB/DBZ/DBGT is a good example) they are good but the fact that they take so long for one episode can be very tiresome and well it just seems like they could of fit it into say 5 episodes at the most. (Yes I am aware that I majorly exagerated the fights but still they usually take 3 or 4 episodes sometimes 5-7 episodes when they could fit it into say 1 or two less episodes.) Yuu Yuu hakusho is also similar but not as drawn out.
Average anime are good but then it also depends on what it is about, some are to complex and the story isn't told well enough in 50 episodes so that is why they could suck, and some are too simplistic to need 50 episodes. |

Most of my favorite anime shows, usually run between 13-26 episodes. Then I like some OVAs that are 6 or so episodes and than there are some that are 26+ episodes. I don't think I would buy an anime that's 100 episodes. It seems to me that the companies that release the DVDs like to put as few episodes as possible on the disc and charge $24.99 for them.
I think I like the short series better, because the animation usually stay consistant throughout the whole series, and it never really feels drawn out. And there usually aren't any filler episodes. |

Average. Simply because short is too short and long is too long. _________________ "Wisdom is what's left over after we run out of personal opinions." |

I prefer shorter series as long as they don't end crappily. Longer series usually just drag everything out, especially if they have the same story the whole time. That ends up ruining the show. _________________

Long serieses, kinda suck... it turns into this formulaic thing... Every episode, same concept, different scenario.
Average length animes are nice enough, but just long enough to have plenty of filler for ya....
All in all, I'd say I much prefer short anime. FLCL, for instance, was absolutely brilliantly done, and in SIX episodes. Evangelion, anyone? Onegai Teacher? DearS? All my favorites have been short animes. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Usually Animes with 26 or 52 episodes are pretty good but some animes are great short (FLCL) while some aren't that bad if long. So I'll usually watch any of them. |

Well, I can't really give a definite answer here. It'd have to depend on the quality of the storyline. There are a bunch of animes out there that never have a dull moment, but they just seem like they're over too quick. Then there are ones that drag on for over a hundred episodes, become really predictable (as in, I can predict everything a week in advance XD), and get boring quick.
So basically, I'd have to put my vote in for "as long as it can be stretched without getting predictable or boring". _________________ Math problems? Call 1-800-[(10x)(13i)^2]-[sin(xy)/2.362x]. |

I usually prefer the Average length unless a anime has a solid storyline and a great cast of characters then I go with the long Length.
One example of the type of long animes I enjoy is Naruto. _________________

I prefer anime's that are long and still going, I usually cry when I see a show end. _________________ 98% of all teenagers have injected a mixture of morphine and crab urine into their eyeballs, if you're one of the 2% who gives a fig about these stupid made-up statistic messages, copy and paste this into your sig. |

depends on the storyline, but if it's bigger, i'd rather have it in bits of 26/52 eps.
100+ eps = too much.

I'll go for any length, but I like the really long 100+ stuff the best...
No idea why, I just do. |

Depends. Many series that go for a long time tend to get worse and worse as they go along, although some are the opposite, like Inuyasha, One Piece and Naruto. Meanwhile, series that are shorter tend to be really nice and well done, but sometimes it feels like they deserve more episodes. |

I'm super impatient, so I want to know about characters and the storyline of an anime rather quickly. XD So I tend to favorite the shorter ones, either 1 season (I think one season is 26 episodes or something) long or shorter. |

I like short anime--about 26 episodes is just enough for character development and a bit of filler, but still have a good storyline.
But for space operas like Gundam and such, they should be average-length or more, as long as they don't get boring. _________________ Hmm... Defenestration is such a fun word. |

An average one like FMA, I don't have to download too many episodes. FMA already took me 16 CDs _________________ LEAVING, Looks Like The Rules Are Meant to Be Broken After All |
