DASH 3 and Rockman 9 - never to see the light of day?

A meeting with the president of Inticreates:

-Neither DASH3 nor Rockman 9 will be put on the market in the future.
IntiCreates' staff submitted the project book on these sequels.
However, Inafune refused it. "I won't make it in the future."
:(

This is really disappointing news.. It seems that Namco x Capcom didn't help Inafune change his mind about this at all, and that he stuck by his previous thoughts of "not happening." Truely sad, especially since both of the series felt like they ended rather abruptly.

And some (less relevant) Zero stuff:
-The development of Zero 4 began around last June.
The project of Zero 5 might have already begun.

-The theme (not song kind) of Zero 5 seems to be conclusion of the fight of Zero and Shitennou.

-Employees of Inti consulted about the scenario of "Remastered Tracks Physis" with drama tracks.
Seiyuus agree on the suggestion.

-Official artist for Zero 5 is Nakayama.
And, an irrelevant employee occasionally draws it, too.

So, Zero 4 was NOT the last Zero game and Physis will continue with drama tracks etc etc

Wait wait wait? So Inafune has no plans to release a new DASH game? Then what about his love for the DASH Series, is he just going to abandon that? I hope this some twisted joke or rumor because stopping the Classic and Legends series and continuing the Zero Series is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what I would truly want to hear. No offense to you Zero Series fans, but that is a series I can no longer stand.

Continuing the Zero series but giving up plans to continue the DASH series is the exact opposite of what I -did- hear. I was under the impression that Capcom really wanted to continue DASH and decided Zero needs a break... what's the deal?

I think he refused because he'd like to do those particular sequels himself especially since he was quoted as saying he'd like to make a dash 3 if he had free time in an interview a few years back

hmm it's sad to hear about D.A.S.H 3 not being developed as that was one of my favorite Rockman/Megaman Series. Sad

I always considered Rockman and Forte Rockman 9.

I can understand why he'd discontinue the original series, since he basically made EXE to appeal to a new generation of kids, but DASH isn't quite the same thing. It's something you'd like to see more of, and Inafune likes it doesn't he?

Josu is right, Inafune himself would want to work on these games, probably without Inticreates. It may be a misquote or they precived it wrong. He probably ment that he wouldn't make their particular take on the work, since I saw the same article Josu did...

I really don't care about DASH but if this is true then it's very unfortunate since I'd like to see an actual conclusion to the Origional series and more tie-ins to the X series (like finding out what happened to Rock, Roll, Forte and the others since both series appear to take place in the same universe).

As far as I know, Inafune's exact words were "I won't make it in the future," which could mean he won't give the green light to anyone else to make it, let someone else produce it, or something else along those lines. The entire thing was translated by someone who speaks fluent Japanese, but when I have the chance, I'll ask her about it.

edit: nothing was mentioned about what might have changed Inafune's mind, so there's always the possibility of that.

Shitennou? That's the generals! wtf? I mean, Zero vs. Harpi,levi and faffi?

Change of artist? I think 4 has a different one too. He's probably the same person as Z5's. It's not a world disaster, you only have like, 5 cutscenes, the rest are sprites.

I'm Sad about DASH, but maybe there will be something in the future. People have gone back on there word lots of times

I have now that there would be no more Classic series. The Original brought on the fandom, and it is time for it to go to sleep.

Well DASH 3 could have you playing as roll and tron trying to get mega and the mother units off the moon. (or of course have some level where you play as mega or the mother units. I know pitch would like that)

I seriously doubt Megaman 9 will ever see the light of day. But I'd really like to see Megaman Legends 3 come to the Playstasion Portable or one of the next-gen consoles coming next year. I am a little sad that Inafune said that he won't develop Legends 3, but you never know. The game could be in top-secret development as we speak! Inafune said that he loved the Legends series, so he can't just leave it in the dust. The Original series though, I think is pretty much done. Megaman & Bass was the last game in the Original series (or was it Megaman 8?), and there hasn't been any word since then if there are any more games being made for the series.
