Is 'cloaked man' Cyber Forte who Starry keeps ranting about, or was that last year? :P Confuzzling.

The 2nd Official Megaman Battle Network Tournament took place on Saturday, August 20, 2005, the second day of Otakon at approximately noon in front og the Starbucks in the convention center. It was single elimination with each round being a best-of-three battle. The following is the folder and Navi Customizer setup I used. I'll probably mix in the Japanese chips names. >_> I'll try to include the English names as well, though.

[ ] represents my default chip.

Folder:
Poison Anubis A
Sanctuary S
Signal Red S
Boomerang3 U
Deathmatch3 U (Geddon3)
Deathmatch3 U (Geddon3)
Deathmatch3 U (Geddon3)
Barrier200 U
Woody Powder *

Dark Hole * (Hole)
Invisible *

Invisible *
Attack+10 *
Attack+10 *
Attack+10 *
Attack+10 *
Bug Chain *
Bug Fix *
Dark Line *

Customizer Layout:
[1][1][1][1][2]
[1][3][4][1][5]
[3][3][4][5][5]
[3][3][4][5][5]
[3][3][4][5][5]

1 = HP+400
2 = Speed+1 (leftover space filler XD)
3 = HP+500
4 = Beat Support
5 = HP+500

Battle Plan:
Stack as much HP Drain onto my opponent as possible, while being annoying in my evasion, slowed Custom Gauge, and causing additional status effects.

If you have any critiques, questions, or comments, feel free to reply. No flames please.

Good lord, that looks even better than the prototype you sent me a month back.

It's so insanely evil. Not only will you win a life drain race with the crazy amounts of HP that you get, but passing your bugs to an opponent is quite psychologically damaging, adding the element of panic to your opponent and throwing him or her off of his game plan. There is also the fact that not a lot of people mainboard BugFix, so it should REALLY be helpful.

Holy crap. Just thinking about how good that folder is makes me sick. I've seen folders like this before, but never one quite this devastating. This would leave me confused beyond belief... Anyways congratulations on your victory Pyo!

:O My goodness, that folder is..... well, Wackoman.EXE, Midnight Critic, and Hardcore Hecxz already said my thoughts. >_< Me, I just put chips needed for Double Soul, some Navi chips( Especially Roll. Laughing ), and any other powerful chips I got in my folder. No real stratigy do I have. Just "A good offence is the best defence."..... and REALLY high HP helps me, too. Laughing

Meh, I guess I'll have to go to next years Otakon to battle. Nice folder, PlaguedOne. So insane. So evil. It's an ingenious folder. Congrats as well.

That's a pretty good folder you've got there! Deadly is more like it,really. :!

I kinda noticed it's built around status affects and only 3 chips are actually meant to do exact damage. Not like it matters,but if someone had Floatshoes and their LifeAura up,then maybe they'd stand a chance.The RollArrow chip would probably dampen the strategy too.

Or if someone used either Windsoul (at a good time) or Junksoul,they'd probably do well. (I've never actually battled anyone else so...blah.)

Yeah,that's a real good folder,you could crush Protoman SP easily with that,not Bass SP,I'm sure.

And if MegamanDS uses that strategy,you'd be in deep trouble. though A.I is stupid...

Well, the strategy I used doesn't work at all unless it's a netbattle. Bug Chain won't work unless it's an actual human vs human netbattle. I hadn't actually tested it in a real battle until the day of the tournament, actually. ^^; I had to do all of my testing against RockmanDS.

Dream Aura wouldn't stop this. A couple people did use Dream Auras at the tournament. HP drains are not blocked or affected by auras or barriers.

Float Shoes would have slowed the strategy down, I agree. However, the main point was the bugs I was sending over. That combined with Poison Pharoah would generally be plenty.

Thanks for the comments and critiques. I think I enjoy talking folders (this one in particular) a bit too much, but oh well. :P

Looks good..... though I perfer using my signature folder which require practice and forcus. I'm really into MBN series...... [spoil:2ae2346e41] I think if a foe use similer codes and mix with Wind Soul or Junk Soul and not to memtion panel changes, it can be counter easily if the foe use a area movement strategy that renders movement and terrain advantage, but that type of move is quite rare so I think it was good strategy to use...... Hey where the missteress on the tournament board..... I don't see it........... [/spoil:2ae2346e41]

Yeah, the chips I was looking for were taking their sweet time getting to me, especially considering Number Soul. ^^;

I was definately much happier with the close matches. They're always more interesting than just annihilating an opponent.

Since it was a tourny, it should have a prize!

Ah oh well, I'm gonna try to get into the next year's one with my BN4BlueMoon!!

Now to try finding some more HPMemory's since my HP sucks! (Not because of any darkness!!)

Next year's tournament, provided there is one, will more than likely use MMBN5. However, the details are all up to TerraStardroid, who funds and runs them.

It was great to have entered. Since I don't have anybody to netbattles around here, I was just happy to have the opportunity to netbattle with other Rockman fans. I wish I had been able to stick around after the tourny to play some more scrap games, but we had to rush off to Full Metal Fantasy (which was well worth it anyway).

Ryou also wanted to netbattle me in EXE5, but we never got around to it. ^^;
