My favorites are:
Sheik because he has a cool projectile, and can poof.

Link (I like white/purple Link best) because his attacks are good, and when you use the spin thig ( I forget the name >_<) while he's metallic you turn gold for a second =o

Zelda because she's sparkly, can do a ribbon poof, and her Z attack is so cool

Pichu ( with the goggles ~/o/) because he's cute and it's easy to juggle with him

Ok fave characters in order:

1.Marth
2.Samus
3.Fox
4.Link
5.Sheik

I think I'm pretty good at the game but I haven't played in a while. I can beat the last event match with Marth if that proves anything. Samus is just all around great at long distance but can also deal good damage in close combat.

Lesseeeeee.... I own with Yoshi, but i'm also good with Young Link and Luigi. Mewtwo is another favorite, but I don't think i'm that good with him.

I'm big on Marth and Falco for their speed, and Mario and Bowser for their power. As for favorite stages, Onett and Fourside are always fun to play.

I think that if you want to strike strong, Roy is the best. He might be slow, but he has damn strong attacks... In Super Sudden Death, he sends the other flying !
Otherwise, I like Link for the variety of his attacks, Falco for his "Kung-Fu Fighting" style.
Ganon has the most brutal strength : you can avoid him, but if you're hit, bye bye.
Mr Game & Watch : the attack with the thrown sausages kicks ass !

Oh, and everybody forgot DK : did you never catch someone with the Z Button? In Game&Watch stage, catch your ennemi with Z and throw him out, it's terrific !

I primarily use Link, but will also use Young Link and Roy. I tend to enjoy juggling people with Link. And if nobody is paying me any attention, bombs are too fun. XP

I use a combo of Shiek and Zelda...since you know...they're the same person...I use Zelda if I'm too far away for Vanish to work.

Then I use Young Link and DK for back ups.

I mainly play the swordsmen, Kirby, and Jigglypuff. The swordsmen, especially Roy, are really easy to control and have really strong smashes. Their speeds are pretty good too. Kirby is definately easy to control and gets annoying to other players. Jigglypuff, given the stage, can kick ass. I abuse rollout.

I tend to use anyone, but my favorites are:
1) Samus: With an arangement of weapons to keep your enemies on their toes, she also beats targets up with the simplest moves (such a forward A) then after you accumilate enough damage, SMASH! Then intercept, Good bye. That another thing about her, her intercept is easy to recover from.
2) Kirby: I'm a Kirby fan, and also he is very versitile with his copy ability and ability to float back. He has a rapid tap attack and a fairly long kick range. The hammer's a nice touch and stone comes in handy with enemies that like to see you in the air, seeing how being knocked up into the air is one Kirby's weakpoints. His grabs look cool but can be escaped easily.
3) Mr. Game & Watch: BEEP BEEP BEEP! His turtle attack dishes out alot of damage and often can't be blocked seeing how it's an air attack. The ramdom number hammer is a neat little luck testing attack, Will you knock out? Or Be knocked out? The man-hole attack works great for sending your foe straight up and then battering them with attacks. A rapid tap attack and a taunt that really gets on your enemies nerves wrap this guy up as one of my favorite charecters.

I usually play with all the characters just to vary, except for Ganodorf :eyes: But the ones listed above are my favs. Smile

Roy because he's a good combination of power and speed.

Bowser because he can put people down relatively fast.

Ganondorf for the same reason as Bowser.

Falco for his speed plus I like him more than Fox.

I try to use Mewtwo alot but he dosen't seem to have alot of endurance.
