Some parents and groups need something to blame, and video games are one of them. Just a fact that people rather blame anyone other then themselves for a problem in their lives. _________________

I think there's no good link between violent games and agression. You see, if a kid that sits down and plays a violent game and has a hard time telling the difference between real life and fantasy, he'll probably become more agressive in real life. But, if a kid that sits down to play a violent game has a good sense of what's right and wrong, he won't become agressive nearly as easy. Take the Grand Theft Auto games for example. The kids that shot people in real life said they were influenced by the games, which means they thought that if you could shoot a person in a game, it would be okay to shoot a person in real life. Which is wrong. Also, parents need to take a role in this. If their kid is, say, 13 years old, and he wants GTA: San Andreas, the parents must look at the ESRB rating to see if it's okay for the child to buy it. |

It doesn't matter what you think, your parents just want you to stop playing video games, so by letting you only play E games means you play alot less. This is my opinion feel free to counter it. |

It's all really a matter of people escaping the blame when it comes to this bogus pile of crap. Kids will blame video games for something because while it won't entirely get them outta trouble, at least it'll cover their whiny little asses a little. Then Parents will eat that up and spread it all over, as though video game ratings are something NEW(when in reality they've been around since the old Sega vs Nintendo days, if not before then(they came about in like 94 or something, right?)). And this is of course because the parents in question are more scared to be wrong than their children are.
The conclusion: People who believe that Video Games have negative effects on children or on themselves are dumbasses. Let's laugh at them.
Of course, in my most humble opinion, all the excess violence in today's video games is as much bs as the studies are but that's another story for another topic. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Parents just blame it on video games because most parents hate video games, and that's what they want to get rid of. _________________
