We all know that there are some die-hard otakus who are less than pleased with the choice of dubbing for certain anime. Actually, some consider it a rule of thumb that subs are better than dubs on all animes.

Whatever your feelings towards the EXE dub is irrelevant. What I would like to know is, if YOU were the casting directer for a new megaman series, who would you cast as who? I'd personally like to know what the fans would do in this situation.

It doesn't even matter what series. It can be Classic, EXE, X, Dash. It's all good. You can even pick any actor you want. If you don't know any actors, just give a general idea of what you want a character to sound like.

I really hope people contribute and I look foreward to anyones responses.

Personally I think Ocean Group does a perfectly fine job as the voice cast for MMNTW...I just freaking want Alex Doduk and Bill Switzer to come back from the dead and play the godamn main characters -_- Plus, with a little better and less cheesy directing, no edits or cuts and name changes it could've had a great uncut version. Since the EXE anime is really underappreciated by the rest of anime world in my opinion :<

As for a new series, if there were a Zero anime, I would have FUNimation dub it with the following:

Zero- Travis Willingham
Ciel- Caitlin Glass
Harpuia- Vic Mignogna
Leviathan- Monica Rial
Fefnir- Chuck Huber
Phantom- Kyle Herbert
Copy X- Daniel Katsuk
Elpizo- Sean Schemmel
Flizzard- John Burgmier
Mantisk- Justin Cook
Inrabbita- Lori Steele
Hellbat- Eric Vale
Foxtar- Laura Bailey
Cactank- Christopher Sabat
Manteel- Bill Townsly
Cerberian- Dameon Clarke
Dr. Wiel- Mike McFarland

That's great, but I don't follow the funimation cast, so I have no idea what these people sound like. I know Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabbat, and that's really it.

Sean Schemmel as Elpizo? I find that weird, considering the roles I've heard him do.

Remember that Foxtar is male.

Back when the first episodes of NT Warrior aired, I was hoping that IceMan would get Hamtaro's VA. Boy, I got the exact opposite of a cute hamster voice...

Yeah, but I think he was voiced by a girl in the GBA game anyway. I'm used to it because of the Zero: the Last Cataclysm movie. Yeah, I could actually see that for Iceman ._o

Thanks, that's better. And of course I know Chris was Vegeta and Sean was Goku. DBZ is the anime that started it all for me.

I fear this may end up being a dialogue between the two of us, so I may as well post my picks. I'd redo the classic series, because the old school cartoon for it was incredibly cheesy, and naturally, I'd use the OG cast, because I enjoy everything that's voiced by them.

Brackets = what they would sound like.

Gutsman: Scott Mcneil (Gutsman EXE)
Cutman: Also Scott Mcneil (Rattrap)
Iceman: Jillian Micheals (Shippo)
Elecman: Richard Cox (Inuyasha)
Fireman: David Sobolov (Depthcharge)
Bombman: Ward Perry (Dessertman EXE)
Duo: Richard Newman (Golem)
Enker: David Kaye (Protoman EXE)
Quint: Sam Vincent (Athrun Zala, only more badass)
Punk: Gary Chalk (Slash)
Quickman: Kirby Morrow (Vahn Finnel)
Woodman: Alvin Sanders (?) (I just know he could do it)
Wily: Paul Dobson (Mr. Wily) (failled to find someone else)
Cossack: Scott Mcneil (Dr. Wily, only russian instead of german)
Burnerman: Andrew Francis (Azreal, when he goes psycho)
Swordman: Trevor Devall (Mr. Famous OOPS! Sorry I mean just Famous!!!)

Megaman: ?
Protoman: ?
Bass: ?
Roll: ?

I haven't figured it out yet. Who could do them justice?

For those four I'd pick the same people that did them in the EXE series :3

Fine, be un-original, see if I care. >P

I've toyed with having Saffron Henderson do her kid Gohan voice for Megaman. I'm still undecided wether it's better or not, because it is completely different entirely.

I've also experimented with Brian Dobson as Bass, doing a pseudo hybrid of Zechs Merkise and Vegeta. I think I'll have to abandon it because the voice would fluctuate too much.

EDIT: Drummond. I meant Drummond.

Hm, yeah he'd make a good base. Scott McNiel for the old school Protoman voice then? :P

I already have him doing 3 voices!!! >_<

As much I liked Scott's Protoman, I have a different idea of what Protoman should sound like, so I'm still looking for another voice. Scott makes him sound too punkish. I always thought Protoman should sound quieter and more solemn.

Travis Willingham, huh? I don't know... I always imagined Mark Gatha (Domon from G Gundam) would be a good VA for Zero.

Fefnir - Roger Rhodes (Chibodee from G Gundam)
Elpizo {nomal} - Brent Miller (Hot Shot from Transformers Armada)
Elpizo {super mode} - Michael Dobson (Starscream)
Elpizo {Dark Elf final} - David Kaye (Megatron)
Original X - Sean Schemmel (Goku from DBZ)

All the others are good. :]

blazequest- He SHOULD, but that will forever be Protoman's American voice XD

Dark Liger- Brent Miller disappeared from the world of voice acting since Transformers Cybertron, plus Roger Rhodes, Mark Gatha and Sean Schemmel are from different dubbing companies, so that match wouldn't really work even if there WERE a Zero anime. However, someone told me that X had the voice of Domon Kashu in MMX8, so maybe Mark Gatha transferred to Ocean Group from Blue Water. Who knows really.

Speaking of that, I STILL think the Zero series deserves something. If not an anime, then at least an OVA or something based on the GBA's storyline o,o

Oh... I really didn't know that, but now that you mention it, X did sound familiar, I think that was Mark Gatha. So, maybe my choice for Zero could happen. Laughing

EDIT: I looked on another site, and X's voice actor for X8 WAS in fact Mark Gatha.

Scott McNeil would have been great as Beastman. His Dinobot voice is just perfect.

Kirbopher: For the sake of this conversation, I won't put a restriction on dubbing companies. People can mix and match if they want. You don't even have to use traditional VAs. If you'd rather use celebrities, go ahead, seeing as how they've already done voices in movies and games already.

Anime Master Zero: To whom it may concern, the Axess credits say that Scott Mcneil DOES do the voice of Beastman. Whether this is a mistake or not, I have no idea. I do agree though that his voice would work for it.

In fact, if you listen during the first episode of Axess, when Beastman says "My claws!" after Lan breaks them, he sounds exactly like Dinobot.

The fact that Scott McNeil also did Dinobot's voice, and he could use a similar tone that would fit Beastman?

Scott McNeil didn't voice Beastman. Check imdb.

Beastman's English voice sounds more like Dr. Claw from the Inspector Gadget cartoon. Or Cherubimon's dub voice. But I definitely first thought of Dr. Claw when I first heard him speak.
