I knew Irene's disrobing scene would be strange. Maybe I went a bit overboard in showing how much of a bumpkin Irene could be -_-; . Don't worry though. She'll learn much within 2 weeks.
Well, I guess the speed of the story depends on what I feel is important.
The thief plot is overused alright, but I can't think of a crime that's almost the same level of robbery. Originally, the plot I would have used was a sudden riot... _________________ My deviantART... |

Chapter 6 – New Face
Irene’s Side
As Remi-chan and I turned around, we saw a shadely dressed man, running away with a purse. With five (I think) men after that same person, that has got to be the thief! What surprised me is that he stole something in broad daylight. Then again, crime can happen at any time of day.
I’ll stop him! I stood up and pointed my hand towards the thief, ready to burn him down with a strong fire magic. But before I could trigger my magic, Remi-chan pulled my hand down, and said “There are too many civilians!” Aagh! What was I thinkin’?
I stood up from my chair and left Remi-chan, joinin’ a group willin’ to stop this daytime thief. I was thinkin’ of flyin’ towards the robber, but with this crowd and all these hangin’ lamps, I don’t think I’d be able to.
The chase inside this mall took about a minute, until the robber somehow got out. What was strange is that the thief got past 4 men guarding the exit this thief used. Also, he is faster than the ones chasin’ him, so he was slowly losin’ then. But not me! Now that I am in open space, I can fly and dash towards this thief!
As I flew high enough to see wherever he decides to go, I saw his headin’, and found a perfect way to stop this man cold. With all these other people movin’ away from the scuffle, the only place I have a clear shot is when he reaches the junction. Before he could cross the junction, I dived in at the back of this thief, throwin’ him to the ground with great force. As the man stumbled, I couldn’t help but add insult to injury. “There! Y’think you can get away, huh? Huh?!”
I thought it was all over when I stopped this man. I was so wrong! This man faced me, and pulled out a knife!! I was caught unaware, and was wide open. I thought I’ll get slashed or somethin’, until another one came crashing on the thief, sendin’ him flyin’ again to the ground, knockin’ him almost unconscious.
“You dare use a weapon on an unarmed woman?!”, screamed this man, his hand formin’ a weird gesture. With that robust build, and rugged clothes, I can say that this one is strong. A tough guy…
Not long after, all these people chasin’ the thief arrived. They, uh, “made sure” that the thief is not goin’ anywhere. A man in blue uniform picked up the bag this thief took, to return the bag to it’s owner. Well, that’s that. Now that that’s over, I guess I should go back now…
Like a whisper, I muttered to myself, “Maybe I should have waited for Remi-chan to come with me… That was close…”
As I walked away from the scene, someone tapped me at the shoulder. I turned around, and saw this same rugged man who just helped me in capturin’ this thief. He asked, “Excuse me, Miss. Did you just happen to say… ‘Remi-chan…?’” Hmm…? I nodded to his question just like that. He asked again, “Remi-chan…? As in Remeer…? Remeer Valkyrie…?” Oh. This person probably knows Remi-chan if he knows Remi-chan’s full name… I simply answered him with a yes.
“Hey, wait a minute”, I interrupted, “Who are you?” He recoiled as if he just made a stupid mistake. “Oh, how rude of me. The name is Andrew! Andrew Cyan III!” He brushed his hands, as if he had dirt in them to begin with, and offered a handshake. Well, he looks friendly, so I gave him a handshake. “My name is Irene!”
“Nice to meet you, Irene! Say, is Remeer here?” “Oh, he’s here. He’s at that mall over there.” I pointed behind me as I said that. He smiled a bit mischievous, and then asked again, “Can you take me to him?” Hmm… I don’t see why not… “Okay! Come with me!”
Let’s see… We took a left here… Past six bushes… Down these moving stairs… Voila! Here we are! I pointed Andrew to the table where Remi-chan and I was sittin’. As he saw Remi-chan, he started sneakin’ up behind him. It looks like he’s trying to surprise Remi-chan, because he still has that roguish smile on his face. Before Andrew could get any closer, Remi-chan just said out loud, “I’ve heard you and Irene a few feet away, Andrew…” Andrew, defeated, just snapped his fingers… Remi-chan heard us from that far? With this crowd noise…? Remi-chan never ceases to amaze me…
Remi-chan coughed, and waited for both of us to take a seat. Afterwards, Remi-chan started his introduction. “Irene, this is Andrew. He lives here in Contara, a country of Alexia. I’ve known him for years.” Oh! Could he be Remi-chan’s best friend?
As I thought to myself for a while, Andrew pulled Remi-chan away from the table. He was whisperin’ somethin’ to Remi-chan, occasionally lookin’ at me. I wonder what they are talkin’ about…? Seconds later, Andrew was laughin’, and Remi-chan has a frown. “That’s not funny, Andrew…”, said Remi-chan, quite dryly. I wonder what’s so funny…? Well, whatever it is, only Andrew is laughin’, so I guess the laugh was on Remi-chan’s expense… Maybe it’s best that I don’t find out…?
I feel like Andrew likes nothin’ more than to brag. I mean, while we were eatin’, he was telling me his adventures, like, thrice… But still, Andrew is a fun guy, and he does look like he has a lot of physical reasons to brag. He knows a lot of jokes… Hmm… I never noticed this, but Andrew is more built than Remi-chan. Maybe Andrew works out more than Remi-chan…?
Well, the only moon of Alexia is comin’ out. I can see it through this transparent ceilin’. I never noticed that ceilin’ until now… It’s time for us to go. As we bid Andrew fairwell, Andrew whispered somethin’ again to Remi-chan. This time, Remi-chan only acknowledged with a nod. I wonder what could that have been?
Back home, I can’t feel relaxed. There’s just too many question in my head. I don’t think Remi-chan can explain all these in just 2 weeks! I wanted to start askin’, but Remi-chan asked me to keep it until tommorow…
Also, since this is the first time I’ve been in this house, so I have no room prepared. That’s why I’m sleepin’ in Remi-chan’s room. Remi-chan was kind of anxious. He haven’t slept with anyone before, so he wasn’t sure if I can sleep soundly next to him. It doesn’t matter for me! I get to sleep next to him! Oh, joy!
As Remi-chan slept… I slowly… wrapped my arms… around him… and went to sleep… Good… night…

Ahh. Another cute one.
So far, I am unsure what to take of Andrew's appearance in the storyline. After all, he is only briefly mentioned, but I think that for now, I should reserve judgment for another chapter or two.
The relationship between Irene and Remeer is slightly more apparent in this chapter, and for some reason I am forseeing a future chapter devoted entirely to that. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I'm here!
--------------------------------------------------
Chapter 6 – New Face
Remeer’s Side
Irene and I turned around, and we saw this thief, running away with a blue handbag. Already, a few have been chasing the thief around this crowd. Others, fearing that the man is armed and dangerous, moved away like they were avoiding a plague.
Before I knew it, Irene stood up, pointed her hand to the thief, and exclaimed “I’ll stop him!” Seconds after, I can sense fire energy building up. She intends to use fire on a busy place?! I stood up as well, but only to stop Irene from doing anything reckless. I kind of dragged Irene’s hand down, telling her about the surrounding. “There are too many civilians!”, says I. Irene’s eyebrows crossed. She never thought of that…
Irene felt it right to join the chase. I was about to follow as well, but something caught my attention. On the side, I saw two men with gashes on their arm. Others who decided to help were already tending them. Could the thief have done that? They were bleeding severely…
I’d chase the thief, but these two men are in critical condition. By the length and depth of these gashes, I believe that the thief has a knife. I approached one of them, and pulled out a length of bandage out of my Bottomless Bag. After stopping this man from bleeding, I turned to tend the other one.
Afterwards, I looked around for any sign of the thief, but never found him. It appears that he has already gone too far from here. I have no clue which direction to go to. Unable to do anymore, I just returned to my seat and hoped for the best.
As I sat down, this cold aura appeared out of nowhere. It’s approaching me from this crowd, at a casual speed I might add. I searched for the source, and was surprised when this woman appeared in front of me. She was wearing a waitress’ dress, and she has a slice of carrot cake on her tray. This aura… It’s coming from her?… She sat down in front of me, gave me the cake, and stared at me blankly…
“Who are you?”, I asked this woman. Without even blinking, the woman spoke in a very low and gruff voice. “Are-you-Remustar-Baal-Xhirie?”
… I never liked to hear my real name… It brings back too many miserable memories… Now it is clear to me. This woman is under mind-control. Not to leave any tense moments, I replied as calm as I could. “I prefer to be called by my present name, thank you very much…”
“Regardless,” said this possessed woman “I-am-here-for-you…” I started eating this cake the woman brought me, and answered back. “Your also here for the reward placed on my head, huh?” Her head nodded eerily, and said “I-will-come-for-your-life-after-a-week… Until-then-do-not-die…”
That being said, the cold aura this girl was letting out vanished. Suddenly, this woman snapped back to her consciousness. “W-wha? W-where am I?” she asked in her normal petite voice. She looked at me with confusion in her eyes, wondering what she was doing there.
Damn! Now I have to make up something to this girl! Uh… What do I say to her… Ah! I got it! “Don’t you remember? You felt dizzy and asked if you could rest here for a bit. Are you okay now, miss?”
She held her head, and murmured out “Y-yeah…” Thank goodness she bought what I said. She stood up, took the tray she was holding, and spoke in an unsure tone. “T-thanks… I think… Enjoy the cake, sir!” She was still wobbly on her way, but she stood strong.
That’s just great… That woman was sent to give me an ultimatum… One week, huh…? I was worked up a bit because of the threat, so my senses was heightened… So heightened, that I can practically hear everyone around me thinking… Too noisy…
Huh…? I here something… It’s Irene, and she’s with someone. This other one is… … Andrew! He’s trying to sneak up to me, eh? I decided to ruin his attempt at the last second. “I’ve heard you and Irene a few feet away, Andrew…” I heard him snap his fingers. He does that when he fails at anything.
I cleared my throat and my thoughts, hoping that they don’t read anything on my face. I haven’t introduced Irene to any of my Alexian friends yet. I figured this is a good start. “Irene, this is Andrew. He lives here in Contara, a country of Alexia. I’ve known him for years.” She looked silently onto Andrew, as if checking him from head to toe.
Before I could continue, Andrew pulled me away from the table. He started whispering to me. “So she’s the girl you’ve been telling me about…?” “Yes, she’s the one.” He glanced at her, and whispered again. “So, how does it feel like?” … … … “What do you mean by that?!?!” A smile cracked from his mouth, and continued. “You mean you haven’t done anything to her yet? You really are slow!”
Andrew started smirking, and eventually laughed on my face. Angrily, I snarled at him “That’s not funny, Andrew…” … Sigh… Ever since we’ve known each other, Andrew learned that nitpicking about my docile attitude is an insult. That, coupled with his rather twisted mind, makes up the foulest combination I have ever known… I’d try to explain something to him, but it might only make matters worse for me. Never mind…
For the rest of the day, Andrew boasted to Irene his fame as an adventurer and as a fighter. He has traveled far and wide, accomplishing missions throughout worlds. He has entered numerous tournaments, all of which he came out mostly as the champion. He kept telling Irene that over and over again. She looked interested, even with Andrew’s repetitive stories. Good thing Andrew knows how to deliver jokes, or else Irene would have been bored by now…
Time passed, and now it’s nighttime. As we parted ways, Andrew whispered to me again. “Talk to me by telepathy.” I wonder what for? Does he intend to tell me something else? I nodded, and started linking our thoughts together. Irene and I are walking home, but Andrew and I can still talk to each other.
<Something is bothering you, right?>, he asked. Trying to act innocent, I replied <What makes you think that?> He continued on, and said <I’ve known you for years, Remeer. You’re a quiet person, but not that quiet.> Oh my… Andrew figured it out… <So, what’s your problem?>, he asked. I explained him everything about my death threat today. When he has heard enough, he paused then answered <I’ll be there come next week.>
He intends to help me? I tried to refuse his aid, but he ended the argument when he said <You really think I’d allow someone to try and kill my friend? Not while I’m alive!> … Sigh… This is Andrew’s maxim: his friends are his treasures. Unable to turn his offer away, I simply said <Thank you…>
<I have one more problem, Andrew>, I continued. <Irene would be here when they arrive. I don’t want her involved in this.> Andrew grew silent. Afterwards, we spent that time thinking on how to keep Irene out of this mess…
After we bid our goodbyes, I cut off our psychic connection. All that time, Irene and I were walking down this bustling road. Moments later, we reached my house. As I sat down this recliner, my troubles only got bigger. What do I do with Irene…? She wanted to ask some more, but I really didn’t feel like explaining. Kindly, I told her to give it a rest until tomorrow. She complied without questions…
I don’t have any room prepared for Irene. After all, I never thought of bringing her here in the first place. That’s why I decided that she sleeps with me tonight. I don’t know if she’d be able to get a decent rest, but she showed me that she’d be thankful to be in that situation. She doesn’t mind, so I won’t mind…
Supposedly, getting a good night sleep cures one of his present troubles. I doubt that will happen for me tonight, but there’s only one way to find out… Good night…

Can you tell what kind of a friend Andrew is? Anyway, I'll introduce another character next time. _________________ My deviantART... |

I don't know...Andrew seems to be enigmatic. For one thing, he seems very egoistical and takes things far too loosely, but then again, it seems that he is a solidly faithful person, who would stop at nothing to aid a friend in need. These qualities, for some reason, tend to clash with one another in my thoughts, so I am intrigued by how you intend to characterize him further.
Good job. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! From Television City in Hollywood! It's time to 'Press Your Luck!'--Rod Roddy

Andrew's personality clashes? Well, my first idea for his personality is truelly egoistic. It runs in his family. From his father to his great x10 grandfather, they are known for their pride. He still has some common sense to drop his boastful nature to help his friends.
Anyway, the next character I'd introduce would become Irene's best friend. If Remeer has one, then so too should Irene. _________________ My deviantART... |

I wouldn't think so. Since you have her in an anmesiac state, she obviously will tend to think a bit more naively, as she has not so much to base her experiences on and her understandings of the people she encounters. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Chapter 7 – Friend
Irene’s Side
I haven’t even stayed her for 1 week, and already my head is hurtin’. Remi-chan thought me everythin’ I wanted to know. Now my head feels like it’s goin’ to burst from all this memorizin’. I can’t blame anyone or anythin’ for that. I asked ‘til I was sore, didn’t I? The one thing I regret to ask Remi-chan was politics. That’s definitely somethin’ I don’t need to know, I think…
These past days, I spent all my earned money on shoppin’. Because of that, I decided to take another mission from the UAA. Remi-chan told me to take missions back in Phara. That’s because missions given out here in Alexia are serious business. He said it could range from bein’ a bodyguard, to lendin’ huge amounts of money, to fightin’ a real war… I’m not qualified for those. Remi-chan doesn’t need to tell me that…
Before I could go on another adventure. Remi-chan thought me how to open the portal. The part that took me the longest time is the words I have to chant. I hope I don’t forget these words on my way home. If that happens, I’ll be stuck in Phara until Remi-chan picks me up…
…
As I returned to Phara, my thoughts were to take a drink before my trip. I went towards the fridge, and downed a box of milk in one breath… Ahh! Refreshing! Okay, let’s go!
Hey… I just opened a fridge! Aren’t those found in Alexia…? I never knew we have somethin’ like that… I ran back inside the kitchen and looked around. A fridge… An oven… A stove… A blender… Why, these are all kitchen appliances! Remi-chan told me that these run on electricity. But… Phara isn’t that modern! These things could only run if they have a power source, don’t they? Again, another question formed in my mind. This house sure has some mystery… Oh, well… Let’s ask Remi-chan some time later…
…
Now that I know how to fly around, I was able to reach Corneca in no time. As I entered this buildin’ made out of steel and cement, I saw Milky at the counter. Casually, I just said to her “Hey there!” She looked at me for a second, as if she doesn’t recognize me, and a smile formed on her mouth afterwards. “Ah! Irene! Nice to see you again!” After greetin’ one another, we went into minutes of chattin’. We chatted so much, that I almost forgot what I came here for.
“Say, Milky,” I interrupted. “Any new missions you can give me?” Milky typed away at her computer, and said “Will another search mission be alright?” I shook my head as soon as I heard that, and said “How about somethin’ more excitin’? Surely, there must be some there that requires some butt-kickin’.” Milky chuckled, stared at the monitor for a while, and then looked back at me. “Here’s one. This is what the accompanying letter says.”
There have been sightings of the supernatural in the vicinity of the church of Zhou. My people feel close to peril, although no harm has been reported as of yet. A reward is already prepared, and will be given to those who could ensure the safety of my people and unravel this mystery. Signed, Hale Kingson, Mayor of Zhou
Milky gasped a bit. She looked at me, and said “This mission has been ignored for days. According to rumors, the ‘thing’ that is mentioned here is a ghost. The ghost is also said to be deadly malicious. Those rumors alone is enough to scare even the bravest agents we’ve ever had…” A ghost, eh? I don’t know why, but I already feel like I can do this… Wait… A ghost near a church? How could that happen? Any undead being would flee in pain if they stand on holy grounds, right?
I accepted the mission, even though Milky persistently told me not to. She was worryin’ that this might endanger my life. I’m not afraid, though. I just said goodbye to her, and off I go to Zhou…
…
I asked around where the Mayor of Zhou could be found. I ended up in front of a house elegantly made with marble walls. I felt unsure if I should stay or go. I mean, I’m going inside a house of an authority figure, right? As proper as Remi-chan thought me, I entered this house. Even before I could knock, a woman opened the door. This woman, about my same age, has her blue hair pony-tailed only to her left side. I have never seen someone do that before… She asked what I was here for. I just told her about the mission I was accepting, and she immediately showed me in the house.
After leading me to a room, I met with the Mayor of Zhou. A frown formed in his face, saying “A girl accepted my mission?” I couldn’t answer back. I was sitting on a chair like a statue. The girl that led me in here whispered to me. “My father is not strict when it comes to etiquette. Feel free if you want.” Oh… I leaned back and crossed my legs. Aah! That’s more like it. This chair is comfy like this…
“You have probably read my letter, yes?” I nodded, of course. “According to my letter, no harm has been reported as of yet. But in reality, people have been missing ever since that sighting occurred. No one dared to enter the church afterwards. Even the town priests fear the malevolent aura around it. Are you sure you are accepting my mission?” I coughed, crossed my arms, and said “I’m here already! Y’think I came here just for the heck of it?” I could hear the woman behind me laugh. Maybe I’m being too frank to the Mayor… The Mayor gave a grin, and said “No one has talked to me like that before. It feels rather nice… Very well then. My daughter will tell you more about the mission…” He showed his hand to the woman behind me. Oh! This is his daughter, eh?
“Let me introduce myself first,” said this woman. “My name is Blue Kingson.” I immediately replied with “Hello, Blue!” “Hello to you, too! Anyway, the thing that lurks around the church is said to be a ghost. According to more eyewitnesses, the ghost looked like a woman dressed in pure white. No one could see the face, because the ghost’s long hair covered it like some veil. It appears only at night…” I see… So, I should go there when it’s night. I looked at the clock, and said “I guess I should spend my time somewhere else before I go there. It’s still noon.”
As the woman led me outside, she whispered to me again. “Can I come with you? My father doesn’t want me to, but I want to personally help this one myself.” I smiled, and said “As long as you won’t be a bother tonight!” She smiled back, and continued. “Hey, I can defend myself!” She pulled down on her pony-tail to her left, and out came needles as thin as hair. I see! Her weapon is her hair! That’s why her hair is fixed like that. So she can immediately pull out needles.
“So, can I come along?” “Sure! Why not? I could use a friend!”
So she tagged along. As we waited for the sun to come down, we were sight-seein’ Zhou. We’ve talked about a lot of things. We really, really, really clicked. I think I’ve found my best friend! _________________ My deviantART... |

Nice job.
I admit, it seemed to be a tad less active than before, but it is nice that you have Irene develop her character further. Chapter 7 – Friend
Remeer’s Side
Days passed by like the usual. I teach Irene everything she wants to know, with what I do know. She marvels at my knowledge. She sometimes wonder if there’s anything I don’t know or can’t do. Well, I’m not exactly perfect. I’m just good with whatever I do.
Each other day, Irene goes to the nearby mall, coming home with clothes and trinkets. She’s using the money she earned to make her room resemble the one back in Phara. I told her that I could buy whatever she needs, but she doesn’t want me to. Moving along, she spent all of her money, so she decided to take another mission. She intended to go to this planet’s UAA, but I stopped her. Alexia is, sad to say, the planet known for dangerous and downright outrageous requests…
She decided to go back to Phara. I’d take her there myself, but I cant. Today is the day my assassin should arrive. Quite fortunate, that Irene is leaving without knowledge of what might happen to me later. As I made her practice the spell she must chant over and over, I pray for myself and for her no harm… Moments later, Irene is off on herself. I hope she doesn’t forget the spell…
Just as Irene left, the doorbell rang. That should be Andrew. I hurried up from the basement to greet Andrew. Just like old times, our way of greeting each other is with a clenched fist. With some slight force added, our fists met head on.
“So, today is the day,” Andrew remarked. I never answered. Instead, my eyes went over Andrew, looking for anything suspicious. Afterwards, he came in. Before I could say another word, Andrew asked away “How come I never see you in tournaments lately?” My head tilted back. “One word: Irene.” He chuckled menacingly, and joked around again. “Papa can’t leave her baby girl alone?” There he goes again with his jokes… Another thing I know of Andrew, his jokes on me usually means ‘something else’. I don’t think I want to know what he meant by that one…
To pass the time, we decided to watch TV. Andrew pulled off his shoes and rested his feet on the table. Meanwhile, I took some cookies out of the refrigerator. As I changed channels on the TV looking for an interesting show, we conversed away with a lot of things. Sports, money, latest happenings, and… uh… more stuff that men normally talk about…
I’ve known Andrew for at least 3 years. It all started on one of the tournaments I entered. It was only for fun, until we’ve seen each other fight. As my resilience in fighting impressed the audience the same way Andrew’s quick reflexes did, everyone knew who would face one another in the finals.
There are many, many fighters who joined this tournament, so the whole gala took days. During our times of rest, Andrew and I came face to face while I was buying a soda from a vending machine. Immediately, he looked at me with valiant eyes. I haven’t introduced myself properly, but he spoke to me with such candidness, like he already knew me from the start. We talked so much, that I knew so much about him in one day.
Bout after bout, we progressed from our blocks and tiers. Eventually, the audience gave a cheer of excitement. Their prediction was right: Andrew and I are facing one another for this tournament’s championship. I heard the announcer saying that never has this audience made a louder noise in the history of tournament. The thunderous applaud coming from the spectators are loud, but my focus drowned out this noise. All I see is Andrew, cracking his fists and smiling from afar. His lips moved, saying silent words. “Are you ready for this, pal?” I just gave my own grin back…
The stage announcer gave her signal. As soon as she jumps of the stage, the battle starts. We watched her run. To me, it felt like she was running in slow motion. We both watched with eagle eyes, ready to start once the last step from the stage announcer is made… Ready… Go!!
Andrew is aggressive. He is charging after each and every attempted attack, much contrast to my defensive style. He is so quick that he can literally create whirlwinds whenever he punches the air. His whirlwinds are no bother as my own energy barrier nullified his attacks. Once in a while, he would be able to land a blow. I, however, am quick to return favors. None of us is willing to let up.
Normally, our previous battles only lasted less than a minute. My fight with Andrew took minutes. We practically made full use of the time limit given for this battle. Never has this crowd been so satisfied. After 10 minutes, our fight was halted. It felt like hours, considering that I have never faced someone with such gusto in battles.
I can somewhat hear disputes from this audience, arguing who is the winner of this battle. While we were waiting for the results, Andrew came up to me and hung his hand on my shoulder. He said with a slight weariness in his breath “Who do you think lost, pal?” I gave a sigh, and reacted “I don’t think anyone of us lost…” He laughed and gasped a little. Even he knew that we were so evenly matched. After minutes of waiting and some casual chitchat, the result was given. Andrew won on the condition that he made more attempted attacks then I did. Figures… Oh well, at least I got a prize money…
I never saw Andrew again, until I entered another tournament. Again, there he was, competing for the finals. He always wins by a few points, but every so often, I win by a few points as well. We’ve been known sometime afterwards, that people gave us some titles. Andrew became 'The Hurricane Tiger', while I became 'The Blessed Knight'. Heh… Titles… Good thing not many recognize my face. If anything, I don’t want too much attention wherever I go. Irene’s attention is enough.
Minutes of waiting turn to hours, and hours of waiting instantly amounts to boredom. I turned to one of my books as Andrew played against himself on a game of chess. How do you suppose he can win against himself…? Then again, I’ve seen him lose a chess game all by himself… I sometimes speculate if Andrew is really just fooling around…
We almost forgot our reason of staying here, until we both felt the cold aura I felt a week ago. Andrew made his neck crack as he asked “Is he here?” I closed my book, set it on the sofa, and in a monotone voice, I replied “Yes, and he’s not alone.” Andrew nodded. Even he realized the number of sources the aura is coming from…
Andrew asked as he peeked out a window. “How come you never run away? Don’t you mind that your property might get destroyed if you stay here?” I walked across the other side of this room, avoiding the windows to somehow avoid detection. Then, I answered “At least it’s not other people’s property. If anything does happen here, I can simply dismiss it to anyone that it was a freak accident. No other life would be in danger…”
This cold aura is getting closer… _________________ My deviantART... |

Well, it's certainly another slightly less active chapter, but it was done well. Seeing as how the purpose of the chapter was simply to further develop Andrew's persona, I'd say it did an adequate job. I can't help but feel for Irene, though--once she finds out she is going to return with a vengeance.
Ergh...cliffhangers. I suppose I can forgive you for that, but they are usually a bit annoying for readers... _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Well, Irene won't know Remeer's problem that easily. Remeer will try everything to keep Irene out of it, and Remeer is a... Oops! I might spoil something. Sorry.
Anyway, I'm here again.

Chapter 8 – Second Melee
Irene’s Side
Before we entered this church in the middle of the night, I noticed that the surroundin’ houses have all been abandoned. I don’t see any lights. I don’t see any person. Heck, I can hear myself think. It’s kind of creepy to think that we are the only ones around this church…
Blue felt this evil aura the moment we stepped inside this huge church. My eyes went around, marvelin’ at this place. Blue mentioned that travelers used this church as a restin’ place. With all these rooms and corridors, we are totally on our toes. I mean, who knows where this ghost will appear.
Minutes have passed, and still no sign of our target. If I can’t find it, then I can’t finish this mission. I got so bored searchin’ that I wanted to quit for another day, but Blue kept encouragin’ me. I can describe Blue in one word: optimistic. While we were searchin’, she was goin’ like “We can accomplish this,” and “Think of this as merely a test.” She says her words of encouragement every time she hears the slightest yawn from me.
…Aargh! Where is that ghost? It’s been nearly two hours! No matter where we go, Blue says this evil aura isn’t getting’ weaker nor stronger. It’s like the ghost is keepin’ it’s distance…
Eventually, we came to a room with a bed next to a window. Outside, clouds block our view of the sky as well as the rays of light from the moons. Both our feet are sore, so we decided to sit down for a moment. I sat on the dusty white bed, while Blue went to a sofa on the corner. While I was removin’ my boots, I asked Blue “Why is there a ghost here in the first place?” Blue looked up as she answered. “There were stories a few weeks ago of two women, not from here, quarrelling over something near a church. Well, not exactly a quarrel, since only one of them is actually avoiding the other. Anyway, the quarrel eventually turned into a fight. I don’t know how the story ended, but it has been said that one of them was never seen afterwards…”
I rested my arms after hearin’ the story, givin’ out a sigh. Could that have been the story of the ghost here? As I looked back at Blue, her eyes are struck with fear. She’s lookin’ at somethin’ in my direction. Could it be…?
I turned around slowly… I saw this ghost standin’ just a few inches away from me…
The ghost is just behind me, but I didn’t react. Somethin’ tells me that she isn’t the ghost everyone was afraid of. This ghost’s hair covered her face like a veil all right. I had the urge to move this ghost’s hair away to see her face. As I flipped her hair away, the clouds gave way for the two moons to shine. I saw this ghost’s face. It was bloody and bluish, but she doesn’t have the frightenin’ face I was expecting. I can already tell that she isn’t the one…
Blue gasped as she inched closer. She doesn’t feel anythin’ evil from this one. We both wondered why this ghost remained motionless, staring onto my eyes. Not long after, Blue jolted from where she stood. I caught her before she fell down. Much to my surprise, Blue just let out “The aura just got stronger!” Could it be that the ghost we’re after is approachin’?
After I wore my boots back on, this ghost placed both her hands onto my shoulders. Her face inched closer and closer, repeatedly speakin’ silent words. What’s she sayin’…? … … H-E-L-P… Help…? I asked this ghost “Help you with what?” The ghost’s face changed afterwards from calm to bloody terrified. She flew madly across and outside the room with fear in her eyes. Is she runnin’ from this other ghost?
As soon as we came out of the room, Blue just noticed that this evil aura went dead. “There’s nothing. Maybe the ghost we were after decided to just quit?” … No, the ghost didn’t go away. Alon’ this windin’ dark corridor, we saw the figure of our target ghost. With both feet barely touching the ground, she released her evil aura at full force. I stood boldly against this blast while Blue was holding on to me. This is definitely our target.
We can’t fight in here, so we ran out of this corridor. While we were runnin’, I checked to see if the ghost is after us. Like somethin’ out of a horror movie, the ghost followed suit around this twistin’ corridors with speed. It somehow gained in on us, so we had to do somethin’ to keep her away. We pulled out our weapons, and attacked. To our surprise, Blue’s needles plunged down to her skin while my Bone Staff snapped her neck. Oh ****! This ghost is absolutely solid! Remi-chan told me that solid ghosts are the most dangerous! We ran, leavin’ her behind while she snapped her neck back and pulled out the needles impalin’ her face…
“So, how do we destroy something already dead?” asks Blue. Let’s see… How to kill the undead… Ah! Right! Holy power! “We’ve got to pummel it with holy power!” As we came up to a big hall, Blue retorted. “But this church is holy as it is. Surely, there must be some other way for us!” Agh! She’s right! Hmm… What else…? Ah! Fire power! “I’ll burn that ghost down!”
We turned to face the ghost in this hall. She pulled needles out of her hair again, while I decided to use another weapon. Remi-chan gave me this Gossamer Chain a few days ago. He even taught me the basics for this weapon. It’s a translucent whip pronged to three. If this ghost is solid enough to take hits, I can definitely use this on her. Before she appeared, Blue asked. “I wonder what’s making this church lose holiness. A seal, perhaps?” I don’t know. Perhaps…
“I can’t use fire magic, so this is all up to you! You can do this!”, she said with a bit of a scream. “Got it!”
The ghost flew as high as the ceilin’ went. She circled us to see where she could attack. Our backs are against each other to keep from getting’ attacked there. After some waitin’, she decided to attack Blue first. We both jumped out of the way at the last possible moment. This ghost crashed down face first onto the marble floor.
This is our chance! “Blue! Keep her down!” I screamed as she was away from me. Immediately, she pummeled this ghost with numerous needles. She kept pullin’ her hair so quick that she practically threw needles with a very fast rhythm. Even with that, the ghost didn’t flinch one bit. She stood up and faced Blue. “Irene!”, she screamed as she slowly backed away from the ghost.
My turn! This Gossamer Chain has lots of forms… Uh… Right! First Form: Fire Whip! My Gossamer Chain started burning. I cracked my whip onto the ghost, smoldering the ghost real well. The ghost turned on me this time. As I backed away cracking my whip, Blue made her own move.
She slowly chanted as some sort of star formed on her feet. “Frost Needles!” As she screamed, shards of sharp ice materialized in front of her. It flew as she started throwin’ her own hair needles to the ghost. Again, this ghost gave her attention to Blue, turnin’ it’s back on me.
Again, it’s my turn! I cracked my Fire Whip again. Now the ghost is confused. She got stuck in the middle of us. If she turns to any of us, the other will get her.
…
Eventually, the ghost fell down because of exhaustion. Even undead beings use energy. Still, we can’t kill her. “Our option for totally defeating it is through holy powers,” said Blue. “Maybe somethin’ around here is defilin’ this church. Let’s look around for somethin’ suspicious.”
We left this lifeless ghost… Lifeless ghost? A ghost is already lifeless. I mean, to become a ghost, you have to die first, right? Anyway, we left this lifeless ghost as we searched around this church… Is there somethin’ else here at work? _________________ My deviantART... |

Nice.
And thus we return to the action. Much of the action was quite thorough and well-put, as the mental images created by the text seemed to be a lot more vivid than usual. Good job. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives!
