I'm pretty sure all of you know about the announcement of Mario Kart DS, the game that will allow players to race and battle against people all across the globe. Also, when Nintendo just recently announced a Wi-Fi enabled Smash Bros. for the Revolution, fans across the planet became ecstatic. Just imagine being able to select eight people from anywhere in your region that owns one of these games, and being able to play against them. Wi-Fi is gonna revolutionize multiplayer gaming forever. What are your thoughts on Wi-Fi gaming? |

I think Wi-Fi should stay with Nintendo, like in Shigeru's interview he said he won't show the controller of the Revolution. Why?
"We had the rumble pack, now every controller has rumble, we had memory cards, Xbox has it, we made wireless, then Xbox has it, we don't want them stealing another one of our ideas." |

While personally I'd love to hold to the days where I'd go over to a friends house to play a game with them, I suppose WI-FI gaming will make the overall experience better. Of course you know Sony's going to develop something if they haven't already. Microsoft too. It's inevitable. I'm sure that when these next gen consoles come it will have become a standard.
Wi-Fi is utterly brilliant really - despite my thoughts about playing in the same room as the other person, with actual contact with another human being - but the games announced for wifi just make it impossible for it to be a bad thing. For instance, I believe that now Metroid Prime Hunters has been announced as going to be Wi-Fi compatible. Just the demo game blew me away, but I just can't imagine playing against other people online. It'll just pwn, so much. Mario Kart? Well I haven't played any of the newer ones, but if they're as good or better than the SNES version, there's no way multiplayer can't be phun, and with Wi-Fi there's always someone to play with. Now if they'd just do a battle network game. Just a Netbattle feature. C'mon, Capcom... _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

I'm waiting so see reviews and stuff for the new Hunters first before I get it. I wanna know if it's a FULL FLEDGED Metroid game in that view or a Unreal Tournament clone, but with a Metroid name. Either way, I might get it. BUT FIRST I GET NINTENDOGS AND CASTLEVANIA!!
Another Wi-Fi game I'd like to get is Animal Crossing DS. That is gonna be really fun, I'll be able to waste my life with more than one person now. |

Heh, Wi-Fi is just incredible... I mean, I'm on Wi-Fi right now on my computer. And the thought of actually being able to play with people around the world without any cables going this way and that....it's breathtaking. Since we moved to Germany I haven't been able to battle/play anyone in just about any game, now I'll be able to... Anyways, does anyone know how the DS will be able to connect to something through Wi-Fi? Will there be a special type of router, or will they release some kind of patch that your DS will download to update it's firmware or what? Any info would be much appreciated. |

I'd like to see these games have Wi-Fi ability:
Wi-Fi F-Zero for Revolution
Wi-Fi Mario Kart for Revolution
Wi-Fi Mario Party for Revolution
Wi-Fi Battle Network for DS
Wi-Fi Advance Wars for DS
Metroid Prime 3 for Revolution
Darkning: Nintendo should reveal details about how Wi-Fi works within the next few weeks.
SaitoRockman: Hunters will be a mix of the Metroid Prime single player mode and multiplayer mode. |

Sorry to double post, but I just found an article about Wi-Fi gaming at this site:

The best thing about the Wi-Fi service is that it's free. You don't have to pay a thing. |

Oh, that makes sense. By the looks of it, Nintendo's going to profit big time. What with the sudden craze of buying the DS/Revolution just to try the Wi-Fi experience. Even the PSP can't do what DS is going to be capable of doing. _________________
