Well, under my point of view, only a few sngs are good from X8. Like the poorest soundtrack, excepting a few songs.
-Dinasty
-Jakob
-Ride Armor
Only those are so Rockman X. The rest, heck with them. I even put my Mp3 player on the sexy slim speakers, only put sound on the game, and play Blaze Heatnix's BGM whili I'm in Inferno. (Burn Rooster's.)
Capcom should probably revive some classic songs like they did with Bubble Crab's for Duff McWhalen's in X5. I would say, the one for Magna Centipede with a tune mostly like a rock song which the lirycs sound like Sugar we're going down, but so Rockman X like with some nice doses of guitars and everything.
Also, a nice mix of different styles would be awesome for the BGMs. Like how about putting a little of soft alternative with classical violin for a remake of Wire Spongue's? *Drools *
What are you ideas for the best music for the perfect X game? _________________ This is my Sig Image. It is 500x120, so a Link will work just fine with me and the world to avoid possible problems which lead into a severe case of castration and Social outcast... yeah... that's it.

Well, the music should describe and well illustrate the stage while at the same time be entertaining to listen to like in X1-X4, that's what I mean. With the new games, most of the tracks either do one or the other or niether. Although there were some tunes in X8 that I did like
-Sigma's theme
-Vile's theme
-Burn Rooster's theme
-Maverick Battle theme
-The main theme
Nothing else in X8 is that good IMO. Personally I don't see what the big deal is with Jakob. That just sounds like some High School music video to me. And in X7
-Zero's theme.
-Vanishing Gungaroo (Only a bit)
-Sigma's first battle
-Flame Hyenard (Only slightly) |

Lets not forget Command missions' songs people...Axl's theme was cheery!
But the whole X's theme was the main screen one was sucky un-fortunatly...
Bout games:
I've only played the new ones so I can't really say anything for X1-5...
X7: Keep the chip thing...even though I havent gotten that many...
X8: Please....at least the game had 2 Bosses like X7 (Red and Sigma) but can we PLEASE take out the repeatitive 8 boss/maverick battle? Now that was darn annoying... :grr: |

One of you said 2D graphics were not interesting because of the power of current supports.
I don't agree. 2D graphics had more soul, more life. X1 is still played more than 10 years after its release... Not sure it will be the same for X7 and X8.
The fact is, when X1 was created, it was at a time when videogame were mostly played by core gamers. Games don't have the same taste nowadays.

For a Final X game? Forte ! Instead of a link with the Zero series (link which is explained in this series), I'd like to have some links with the Classic. Forte didn't obey Wily eventually, so how could a robot so powerful have disappeared by the time of X? Also, instead of Tag Team, bring Rush X to help you in battles ! _________________ KnightSoul will protect you |

Yeah, but Zero got his new saber as well, See the differenct between his old and new saber? The old one, which X kept in the whole X6 was the old one that only shows up when taking an action. Zero's NEW saber keps ignited even if no movement was taken between attacks.

Zero's old saber had the ability to stay ignited also. In the cutscenes of X4 you see Zero's saber stay ignited. And besides, Zero's new saber in X6 didn't stay ignited while in-game. Sorry, but that comment just bugged me with its inaccuracy. |

Yeah. But take note. Anime Sequences are taken in charge by animation companies who just try to follow the main game plot. They just call the game company for reference, and they go ahead and make from good anime sequences, to sucky ones. Fortunately, they did a good job for a first time anime sequence for the X series. But please...
Returning to the music side.
So far, since X8, themes for characters have been discarded... bad bad bad... the theme for a character's intro stage gave ou the expectations of the character in the game itself...
Like in X6. The first stage's BGM represented the angstness of X trying to carrry out the work, even if he was alone. Specially in a half torn world by the Eurasia.
But if they keep like three different BGMs for each character, then the thing would get messed up...
Maybe, just drop the Tag system and return the single player intro stage and Select your character before a Maverick stage.
This could bring the chance for actually changing the song for the credits depending on the character you pick in the beginning, or the character you end the game with. And a perfect chance for Capcom after taking the thing for "Parts" for XCC to actually make vocal themes for X, Zero and Axl. And also a vocal main theme.
But if we want the main vocal theme, then you need to finish the game with the three characters and the while thing gets Ala Sonic where you clear the game, save clear data and start as another character. Do it with all characters, and you will be able to access a final chapter with the real ending rather than a three way endind per character. _________________ This is my Sig Image. I like that music idea final. Plus having to play it 3 or 4 times would help the replay value. |

I'd love to hear Minami Takayama (Axl) hook up with her musical buddy Nagano Shiina and sing the opening theme for X9. It'd be cheaper, and Two-Mix is fantastic=D
As for X8's soundtrack, I thought it was great. Not necessarily catchy, but there was just no BS about it. Everything was in its right place and all the tunes were coherent and complete. _________________ I will power my Ultra Mega Planet Destroyer Machine with your knee jerk reflexes.
