Well, just one more day. Do you think they'll still keep the part where the Demon Brothers hack the Kakashi clone into bits? I hope so. ASnd about Naruto's voice: It's not bad at all. I think it fits him. And if people are already starting to hate the dub, what is wrong with them?

So they did you the original music? That is impressive...we've been talking about it in the channel this entire time. XD Yue's been pointing out edits and what not, mainly blood...I liked it. I never really read it...but I'm getting the Manga now. /o/

I'm watching the encore right now. They did an awesome job on this. Naruto's voice reminds me of that one kid from a show called The Oblongs. I can't wait till next week.

To me, it kind of sounded like Luffy's voice. I'm lucky I recorded it, though! But the 9-tailed fox reminded me of Ninetales from Pokemon. -.- When I first read about Naruto in Shonen Jump, it seemed pretty good. But it's better on TV! Laughing

Wanna know something weird. I swear Sakura's VA is this girl I went to high school with. She sounds just like her and her name in the credits is the same. Isn't that something.

Woah, that's pretty creepy. But wouldn't that be cool. Hey, ask if she did it and if she says yes, you'll know someone who helped voice one of the main characters, which will be kinda cool.

Well we graduated so its been awhile since i've seen her but next time I see her around town i'll ask.

Edit: Nope I was wrong I think, the actress's website that i'm directed to isn't her. On the other hand the site mentions nothing about any anime so maybe the site is wrong. Eh who knows.

Yeah I saw the first 2 eps dubbed last night, heh, it was actually decent, kept the sotry intact and used the original names and kept the original japanese music, except they changed the intro and ending, so now we got this americanized beat at the beginning, like this bad rock song, saying "RISE, RISE, RISSSSSSE!" hehehee, but i'll let it pass since it's about less then 30 secs long. I noticed they took out the majority of blood, like episode one, when Naruto did the Sexy No Jistu in front of Iruka and he flew back with blood just squirting out of his nostrils....the blood trail was taken out, as is in episode two when he does it again. But I expect that to be in the Uncut DVD's when released later on. Other then that, all was good, no scenes was cut from the show at all and it was straight forward with the original story format, so I have to say good job to Viz, I approve of the Dub Smile

Now we look forward to what Episode 3 offers now on Saturday.

Also for those users who missed it last night.....Naruto replays again tonight (Sunday Sept. 11) at 10PM EST with a Encore showing of the first 2 eps on CN :p

The dub was decent. Surprise, surprise. Viz has a good writer it seems. They translated all the justu perfectly from their Japanese counter-parts. The pronounciations sounded stiff at times(some ways people said some names didn't flow right), but they got it right. The voice actors weren't bad. Iruka's was decent, but not the best. Mizuki REALLY got his sinister part down REAL well. The Hokage's fit perfectly, the voice actor himself is a talented one. Konohamaru was very good and fit his part perfectly. Seems like Sakura's was pretty good as well. Kakashi has a good voice actor(Cliff from SO3), but he sounded a little too high pitched in the clips. Ino's voice fit her well, almost perfectly. Shikamaru I didn't hear enough of to really tell what I think. Hinata sounded... well not quiet enough, I think... Ebisu has by far the best voice actor to appear so far. I don't know if the voice matched Ebisu's Japanese one, but Crispin Freeman did a freakin' awesome job with the acting. He put a lot of feeling into his part, like he usually does. Probably my favorite American voice actor. And finally, Naruto. Frankly, the extras in the show did a better job than Naruto's voice actor. She not wild enough, she can't get his voice to sound serious enough when is called for, and she has no talent at all with her emotions. They shouldn't have gotten such a rookie with no experience in anime.

Well...

I'll admit it. I am COMPLETELY new to the fandom, but from the looks of things the dub will be a fine way to pick up the canon of the storyline. I expected especially bloody scenes to be dumbed down and such, but as many people have pointed out, especially those in the IRC room, it seems to be rather pristine and true to the original.

This will definitely be something to go on my "To Watch" list.

To each his own opinion, Honestly Naruto's voice was fine in my book, they tried to get it close to that lil whiny like kid voice in the Japanese version, but hey, do we know anyone else that could do it better for for that matter that's under Viz to do it. Exactly

Ebisu's voice was awesome, i'll admit. Heh but it was funny because he reminded me so much when he talk, it like Ebisu dissapear and Alucard (Hellsing) appear, LOL, it just he had the Alucard voice going and I was flipping out Razz

but he was still awesome Smile

I'm gonna watch it again tonight Razz

I must say, I really don't care for the voices. Ino's was good;Sakura's too...eh...peppy?;didn't really get a good listen to Sasuke's or Kakashi in the clips. But, I could just be so used to the Japanese episodes.

And what was the "Naruto Encoure"?

They showed the first two episodes a second time. I thought it would be the next two episodes after it, but I was wrong. and I was hoping we would get to see if they kept the kiss scene in T_T

I thought it was excellent, I dont know much about the storyline, but the edits were minimal and the voices rocked. Little dissapointed that it replaced One Piece. Even if it is for only one day...
