I like to think that his head fins send off some sort of mind contol wave.

But yeah, it's the fact he's dark and angsty, yet not angsty to the point of shouting "COSSACK!!!!!!1!!!1!!11!111" at random moments like some dark angsty types would.<<; He has a good history to say exactly why he hates humans not just "OMGWTFBBQ11!11!1!1!1humnz r teh evl nd r gona die!1!!1!111" like some other dark angsty types.

And the cloak. Everyone loves teh cloak.

I think that it's the cloak that gets me too, I mean; it accounts for a lot of his coolness. Just imagine him sans-cloak.

For guys (and maybe some girls) it's the element of "absolute" power that Forte posesses. They admire such "absolute" power because Forte is shown as being fearless because of it, and they want that kind of power, they want to be fearless as well. Why else do you see so many Bass/Forte screennames and fancharacters running around?

For most of the girls (like Ryouko), well....

I think he's also the most wanked boss ever made... he soo over proportionalized each game makine everyone say 'ZOMG. He's too tough' and When I finally get to him I beat him in the time it takes me to brush my teeth...

I think I'd like Forte a LOT more, if he wasn't in EVERY EXE game... Or that Capcom wasn't trying so hard, to make him cool...

My opinion of Forte sort of varies. I guess I could say I like him overall, but I really like certain versions of him over others. For example, my preferred version would be the Takamisaki manga Forte. That Forte ranks as my most favorite character besides Rockman himself. However, I don't really care for game Forte at all. No offense to game fans, but I think he has the most undeveloped and lacking personality. Also aside from BN3, he hasn't really had any significant involvement in the plot other than being the "tough challenger" at the end. I'm sort of half-half on the anime version. I like that I can watch him in the show, but I wish he would be more involved (also I'm not too keen on his skewed backstory, bleh).

As for why the general fan populace likes him; probably because he falls under the cool, tough-guy category, but also because he's probably one of the more handsome navis in the series besides Blues. ^^
