The controller can be held sideways... >.> I'm sure there must be some way for "casual" gamers to use that in regular games as well as NES games SNES games, etc
I'm thrilled. This really shows potential for getting gamers more "into the game". _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

I'm gonna give nintendo a hand for originality, the DS and revolution have definately rasied the bar for innovativew game play, this has completely given me complete confidence that this system couldn't get better. Also I keep getting pstered by my friend about revolution having free wireless interweb. But I can't see this at all being possible, they would lose millions, can anyone clear this up? |

Simple. Nintendo's only providing free wifi for THEIR games. Any 3rd party games on the Revolution will most likely have to develop their own WiFi support. If they want to do WiFi that is. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

It's not so far-fetched. Blizzard's Battlenet provides free multiplayer support for its games, and you don't see them filing for bankruptcy, do you? _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Amen to that. That looks absolutely amazing. They seem to have taken out the moving buttons and replaced them withyou actually moving them with your controller. SSBR is going to be awesome. _________________

O.o I didn't think it was possible, but watching that Preview, made me dislike the controller even more _________________

Okay. It's the way it's used. You play it like a remote, and that just seems incredibly, strange and weird to me. To me, not having a two handed control just seems like it will be alot more difficult to use _________________

New news!
For those of you who can't stand not having a normal-shaped controller, check this out:
http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651559p1.html
Happy now? IGN made the picture themselves, it's nothing official, but this still means you'll get a next-gen-esque controller. WITH the 3D pointer TOO, I might add.
My doubts are mostly gone at this point, seeing as there is a way, even if it is a slimish chance, to port other games to Revolution. |

Ditto. Though I have yet to hear the reactions of Sony and Microsoft, I have only this to say to Nintendo's rivals: Yes, you have now been officially pwned. If graphics were the only thing that mattered to video games, then the PS3 and X-Box 360 would still be in the running. But it's not, and as far as I can see, that's the only thing Sony and Microsoft have Nintendo beat on. Hell, the PS3 and X-Box 360 still have the exact same controllers as their predecessors. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Only problem is now, Sony or Microsoft could integrate cheesy knockoffs of the same technology. I kinda wish Nintendo woulda kept this under wraps a lil longer. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

As someone who's liked everything Nintendo his entire life, I'll say right now that that controller is the most awful design I've ever looked at. |

Yeah, really. Everyone will be all hyped up about the Revolutions, then Microsoft and Sony will get the same thing, then everyone will start calling it stupid and other things I won't say out of courtesy of the no swearing rule. _________________

actually... I think it does look very strange... but I still love it... I've been with Nintendo since I was born.. (my dad played NES when I was still a baby... same with SNES) Stupid design? yes. Inovative and awesome? Yes. _________________

Except that they've already finalized the designs of their machines; the only way they could integrate motion control is with extra peripherals that would cost extra money, adding onto the already monumental costs of their consoles, just to get the same games third parties will be making for the Revolution.
That doesn't even take into account the possibility that Nintendo has copyrighted their technology. If they have, Sony and Microsoft are stuck with cheap imitations which could never stand up to the real deal.
Besides, they HAD to make the controller public sooner rather than later, or third party developers wouldn't have the time to start making games for the Revolution. XD
...Heheh, Revolution, the name is so appropriate now. You know, I recall a quote from a Microsoft official comparing the X-Box 360 and the PS3 with Ferraris, and that Microsoft's "Ferrari" will be leaving the starting line first. But what happens when you have a Ferrari and your competiton has a supersonic jet? That's exactly the situation here, where the Revolution is in an entirely different league then its competitors.
Wow, I getting alittle too excited about this. I need to go lie down.... _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover
