|
|
This is SORT OF a spoiler for Manga #7 and #8 of Rockman EXE (character appearance/existance), other than that... Netto DS doesn't really exist, it's kind of a "What if" Two page comic.
and no "DS" is not Dual Screen XD
SPOIL at your own risk, linked to Deviant Art since they're kind of huge

Very interesting concept. For a split second I almost thought it was a scanlation. It actually does resemble the style in the manga. Nice job. ^_^ _________________ Thanks for the avatar hobbit_hunter! |

This is great! you should really write the story behind this. Or do a manga if you're not the writing type. _________________ “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”

Thank you ^_^
I'm still working with screentones (the ones you cut out with an exacto knife, not the digital, I don't have Deleter Comic Works) and it is more of a Takamisaki Ryo fan comic than just a Rockman EXE fan comic. I try to go for his art style when I do an EXE fan comic. I love his art style O_O I also love the way he uses tones, but it's very hard to tone like that, and it's very difficult to print. I don't know if you've noticed the US NT Warrior comics are very dark in patches and sometimes the print is messed up... The Japanese takaban's seem to come out a lot better and you can see his toning style really shine.
Arugh, I just realized the tone in Rock's eye fell off in the first panel *__* I'll have to fix that and fix it on DA. That happens a lot with the eye parts, since it's so small, they don't stick as well onto the page. _________________

I thought the aritst of the manga was a woman...?
Oh well.
I. Am. IMPRESSED. You did those tones with an exacto knife?! Maaaan! They're so good! It looks so official!
I'm actually learning how to tone, myself... my sister started college this year to study Art, and she bought Deleter Comicworks a while ago... I think after that tokyopop thing, because she hated the shading in it... Well! Anyhoo! She gave me the cd and told me to learn how to use it, so I could become her "toner-monkey", as she put it.
And I suck. You don't really need to be able to draw to be able to tone, buuuut...
You rock. An EXACTO knife... haha, I've heard of it, but never SEEN anyone do it... You totally win. WIN! ^_^ |

In the self illustrations Takamisaki does (you can see this in the end of Volume 7 of NT Warrior, or the inside flap of the Japanese and Chinese versions where they put a small "Artist's corner" in the inside dust jacket) he looks like a guy... then again, I was totally wrong about the artist for Fullmetal Alchemist (I didn't think a woman would ever draw themselves as a cow)
But yeah, the screentones cut with exacto knifes are a bit of a pain, and you feel like you're drawing the picture multiple times since you have to trace over the lines again to cut out the tones and they're 3-6 dollars a sheet, but I never got around to getting Comic works since my computer back in the day couldn't handle it (it's now, quite a dead lapto *_*)... and now they upped the price to 150 dollars (at least when I last saw Comic Works on sale at the deleter booth.) and I don't know if I can stand "relearning" how to use digital tone on Coimc Works since I didn't really like CG Illust (the drawing program also by Deleter.)
Though the first time I used "tone" was on an oekaki board. _________________

Yeah, I also tend to go for Takamisaki's style too. Not too much progress, though. _________________
