How about you guys make it so that when someone registers, the person will be taken to the rules page and somewhere hidden in one of the rules will be "(click here to continue registration)" andat the top of the page it will say "You have to read the rules carefully to join" or something similar?

And even then, they'll just pass right over the rules and click the link for entry. I can pass over the page and find the one link where the cursor becomes the clicking finger and not read a single rule.

It's just like the logic puzzle proposal. People just don't want to read rules. *shrugs*

a better Idea for taht is having the whole page of rules, and the enter link brings you to a flase page telling you to read the rules, and something like a period or something is the real way in...

^ Suggested that, it's already been rejected for the same reason that MC stated.

Requires JavaScript but they should just enable it for this time. :<

<span onclick="location.href='http://www.kishuku.com/reo/happyworldsupersuper/';">This is not a secret link.</a>

If you want to make it even more 'fail-safe', use this:

<span ondblclick="location.href='http://www.kishuku.com/reo/happyworldsupersuper/';">This is not a secret link.</a>

They need to double-click on the text. If you want, you could even make multiple texts that need to be clicked in order to make the final link work.

Doesn't take away the fact that it's annoying and might drive away people, though.

Hey, if it drives them away from not reading the rules, then it's better off without that member. If that member is only gonna break them, why not make a way where they will feel as if they don't wanna come?

Most people wouldn't see it and might just assume that there was a glitch preventing them for continuing. That is, assuming they don't hit tab like you said

Then we'd be better off without them, I daresay. >.>

Maybe there could be some kind of quiz at the end to see if you really read the rules. If they pass, they're registered. If not, then they have to try again. This idea just popped int my head, so you can just dismiss it if you want. -.-

I have an idea. How about when it links you to the rules, there are 2 options, a "continue" button and another that you become aware of if you actually read the rules. Like if they click continue, it takes them to another page that says "Sorry, You just proved you have not read the rules. Go back and read it to find the true entrance."

Well now, if they are that lazy to not read rules, do you think they are going to become good members once they are -forced- to read the rules?

If they are pure rule breakers, there are really no point. They will just ignore the rules and want admins to give them a nice Ban.

That just reminded me something; there was a website that has something similar. Well, there is one continue button. But it does not lead you to the register page; it leads to a 'You have not read the rules' page. What you really need to do is, if you have read the rules, there will be a rule stating '7. Click the period to proceed.' and thus if you click the period, you proceed. That will ensure they read the rules. XD >__> Just something I found googling forums.
