Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, In a world so very different from our own. . .
all of a sudden, time stopped as a giant hand descended upon the not-yet-created land and tore it into fragments in but an instant. The people who had yet-to-be-created, had no warning before their land was torn from existence. It was mercy that the people of this not-yet-created-story were not created. Fore if they were created, they most definitely would not be glad to know that they were killed before they even existed; That their land, existence and history and very way of life were lifted with the barest of glances before being launched into an all consuming void of darkness-- joining with many other lands and tales that had yet to been told.
Up high above this destroyed universe The Creator of these lives allowed his light-frame to adhere to gravity and crash into an average sized desk. His head bounced beautifully and quite painfully upon the wooden furniture. He grumbled in annoyance before allowing a growl to escape his mouth and then in a savage movement swept his arm across the table, In doing so knocking down any and all writing utensils and/or journals that had been placed there for many a year. The books, which until so recently had been the source of many lives, tales and worlds fell to the ground as all things under the control of gravity do. The book landed on the floor in such a way that many of the pages were ruined. So many future chances for lives were lost.
The writer, an adult not yet fully within the grasp of true maturity did not bring his head up after allowing it to hit the table. In fact, the boy merely just stretched his left arm on the table and rolled his head onto the arm. His eyes were heavy and upon his forehead was a bruise that showed this occurrence was not a rare one. He slowly drifted into a nightmare full of his failures.
Unbeknownst to him, his fallen journal began to glow and hover slightly away from the ground. The luminescent book began to spin as it lifted from the ground, at first slow . . . Then as each second passed the rotation began to enhance. The speed grew until the journal itself was a blur of light, then in a second the spinning stopped instantly and the book opened up.
The very second the book opened up, two meteors of light multicolored energy exploded from the exposed pages. However, instead of heading toward the ceiling like one would expect them to, the ‘light’ did a perfect arc and landed on the floor just a few feet where the now-blank open book lay.
As the light endued ‘screen’ faded away two figures who were not their before were revealed.
On the right side of the book was a girl-- lady who wore a fine and elegant green dress with gold trimmings with matching long gloves and boots. Her beauty was enhanced by the mysterious yet alluring hazel eyes and exotic fire-red hair, giving her an exotic look. Her figure was no-less enchanting; she had an hour glass figure with ‘all the right curves.’ Frankly, at first glance she would capture the eyes of many men and even some women. It was when one would (did) look closely at her, then they would notice how she had several oddities about her. For instance, upon her eyes were curious ‘white’ slashes that crossed her eyes in a ‘plus’ sign, then the fact that her hands were three times the normal size a woman of her size should have. To that fact, her hands were shaped oddly, it was hard to tell with the gloves on her hand, but one would think she had no nails . . . Just clawed hands. Another oddity about her, she wore a tanned cloak that met around where her mouth was. In her right hand a staff was held, not just any staff mind you. This stick of hers was the width of a full-grown man’s palm and was encrusted with an odd crimson stone. To add more to the mystery, a giant stone similar to the encrusted pieces was ‘held’ in the top of the staff.
To the other side of the book was a boy–well more like a child. The first thing one would notice about the boy would be that his face was carefully expressionless. The next thing one would wonder is just ‘how’ they knew that . . . as the boy’s eyes were unable to be seen. In fact his eyes–from the eyebrow to three centimeters to the bridge of his nose, were covered by aged bandages. After taking a few seconds to ponder that, one would see the clothing the boy wore. First was a black cone-hat with a five-inch rim that was set upon the boy’s rather oddly colored silver hair. Around that hat’s base was a navvy blue ribbon that had a half a golden skull attached upon the front. The boy’s torso was covered in a long stretch of clothing the went from his neckline to his ankles . . . a body suit if you will. That body-suit appeared to be made of black leather and decorated with rather ‘demonic’ looking patches– in the appearance they appeared to be devious eyes with sharp toothed mouths. upon the upper-front of both legs. in the for What added to the ‘dark’ look the boy had, the light of the room seemed to ‘vanish’ when it touched the boy’s clothing. Aside from the rather regular pair of gloves, boots and a red vest, the boy was garbed in a midnight blue cloak. It looked rather ordinary compared to the rest of the boy’s clothing that is until one was able to see in the inside of the cloak... however that was rather hard to see. Finally, a long and narrow quarterstaff was in his right hand, on the top of that staff was a ‘sun’ like azure crystal. In short he created the very image of a dark-magician, either that or a kid on Halloween.
The girl looked around with a rather confused expression adorning her face while she tried to get her bearings straight. The boy merely stood where he was with what seemed to be ‘normal’ expression of no expression upon his face. Within a few seconds of looking around, the girl located The Creator and quickly moved to his side. In a sudden fit of curiosity, she began to poke the sleeping boy. First she began to poke his back, then she moved to his shoulders. After poking the boy a few more times around his shoulders, then she went back to poking his back a good five times. She then moved her lips towards the sleeping creator and blew into his ear. Almost instantly, the boy shivered slightly as if in answer to the girl’s action. The girl’s look of curiosity changed into a look of mischievous pleasure as she stuck her left index finger into her mouth. She pulled it out and prepared to place it within the boy’s ear when suddenly a gloved hand caught her own. “Enough. Eclipse.” spoke the wizard.
The girl now known as Eclipse merely stuck her tongue out at the boy before shutting her eyes in concentration. A few seconds later her clothing began to grow out of focus and the green and golden gown shifted into a black tank-top with the words of “DANGER” written upon the front of the shirt across the bust line, her lower body was now garbed in some cut off-pants. She looked at her new clothing and gave a satisfied smirk, the boy however shook his head. Within almost a second of the girls new clothing change, two necklaces with eye pendents appeared around the boy’s neck. This itself caused the boy to change expressions. From bland to annoyed. He even let out a “DAMN IT” to establish his annoyance. The girl smirked however.
“Looks like normal rules apply here, Sorry Karhaedron” she commented. At that comment, the boy now known as Karhaedron looked upon the glowing pendents of the two necklaces. The boy began to swear again.
******************
The Creator’s eyes slowly opened signifying the boy had awoken from his uneasy dreams. Only a partial second passed before The Creator began to grumble something about comparing his behavior to that of an uneducated donkey. While doing this justifiable action, the boy began to long to loosen his stiff muscles. So it wasn’t much a surprise that he quickly began his ‘after-waking-up’ schedule by cracking his back and then immediately going to crack his neck.
Now cracking one’s back is an interesting situation. To do this, the person who intends to make that ‘crack’ noise emit from their back area must bend their spine to an almost 45 degree angle. Most men cannot do this, as such this is not a very common form of stretching. However the boy was not that common of adults. As if he had been doing this exercise for all his life–and he had. The boy instantly began to lean over the top of his chair positioning the top of the chair right in the arch of his back. At that point he began to lean over past the safe distance as advised by the chairs maker... he didn’t end his leaning until he heard a satisfying pop sound. Suddenly he heard someone clapping their hands together and in a rush he overbalanced the chair and like the maker had warned... fell backwards with his head smashing against the nice carpet of his floor.
“At last we meet.” at hearing this unfamiliar yet familiar voice the boy turned around to see the two figures that had arrived earlier that evening. By his door was a child whom looked like a wizard and laying on his bed was a girl who looked much like Miragemon. A character he created for a fiction writing group. He noticed the boy’s necklace actually had an eerie glow to it... or more like he noticed a necklace that had so previously been unseen to him had appeared and then created an eerie glow. Details are tricky like that. _________________ Dreams echo in the void of time striving for completion. Innocent thing, these fragile dreams to each his or her own.~ ME |
