Chapter I: Friendship

It's the year 20XX..
Navi's coexist with humans peacefully.
Nickay and his friends, Nadine, Joe and Sophia use their Netnavis to battle viruses daily.
Nadine is 17, Nickay and Joe are both 16, and Sophia is 15 years old.
Sophia is the caring person in the group, Nickay is very competetive, Joe tries to always stay friendly, and Nadine is the more excentric person.

"Yeah! It's finally summer vacation!" Joe shouted.
"Finally some time to get Forte ready for the big tournament.." Nickay mumbled to himself.
Joe and Nickay have always been friendly rivals, and neither of them are planning to lose in the Grand Tournament.
"Heh, Fireman and me are going to be training hard the next few weeks." Joe told to the others.
"You better watch out for me and Dark Rockman!" Nadine poked Joe with her elbow.
"Hehe, Dark Rockman is strong yeah.." Joe smiled a bit nervously.
"Me and Blues are going to do our best also" said Sophia with a smile.

As the group walk to the park, they're all excited about the tournament, and none of them is going to give up.
"So what else are you all gonna do except training for the tournament?" Nickay asked.
"I promised my sister Mina to go to the mall with her tomorrow." Joe explained.
Sophia smiled to Joe "Aww, how sweet of you to do that."
Joe scratched the back of his head. "Ehehe..."
Nickay sits down on a bench. "That reminds me.. Is Mina going to enter the tournament also?"
Joe looked at him surprised. "Well she hasn't told me anything about it.."
Sophia laughed softly "Well i bet she will enter also!"
Nadine was just being busy customizing her navi Dark Rockman, not listening to the others.
Nickay peeked at her with one eye. "I always wondered how you manage to keep a Dark Navi under control.."
Nadine smiled at him "It's not that hard really.. You just gotta be uber-cute!"
"Rrrriiggghhttt....." Nickay still being a bit confused.
"But you have a Dark Navi too right Nickay?" Sophia asked him.
"Well... I dunno if he's really a Dark Navi, but i gotta admit he's not acting like an angel.." Nickay scratches his head while smiling nervously.

Joe stood up and pointed his PET to Nickay. "So, you wanna go for a round huh?"
Nickay also stood up. "You're on!"
Sophia and Nadine both sighed. "Here they go again.."

Nickay and Joe both plugged in their Navi in a nearby Plug-In Port.
Forte being the silence navi just looked at his opponent Fireman.
"Time for some fireworks!" Fireman shouted.
"..." Forte still being silence as ever.
"A little more excitement doesn't hurt you know Forte.." Nickay sighed.

The battle finally started. Joe slotted in a Flametower battlechip, but Forte easily dodged the attack.
Nickay then slotted in a Widesword battlechip. Forte dashed at Fireman who can nearly dodge the slash, and counters with his Fire Arm attack.
Forte's cloak merely scorched a bit, but that doesn't stop Forte from going. Instead he throws off his cloak and keeps rapidly firing at Fireman.
"Whoa, this is getting a bit too fast!" Fireman shouted to Joe while trying to dodge.
Joe quickly slots in an Areasteal, and Fireman uses it immediately.
Forte looks around, trying to spot his opponent. But Fireman appears behind him and attacks with a Firesword.
"Hey are you holding back on me" Joe asked Nickay. "Forte is usually a lot better than this!"
Nickay grinned a bit.. "You're right.. He is better than this.. But yeah if you want us to go full force.."
He then shouted the words. "Battlechip Sword, Widesword, Longsword, Triple slot in!"
The three swords turned into one large glowing sword in Forte's hands.
"Program Advance, Beta Sword!" Forte shouted together with his operator.
He then attacks with a large force, and Fireman is damaged too heavily, forcing him to plug out.
Joe looked surprised, and is speechless. "Well you said i was holding back.." Nickay grinned at him.

The next day Nickay wakes up with much sleep in his eyes. When he tries to open them, he sees Nadine standing next to his bed.
"Whoa! H-how did you get in here?!"
"Well you always keep your keys under the doormat. Very obvious you know.."
Nickay flicks his own forehead "Stupid me.."
Nadine giggled a bit and goes sit on his bed.
"Hey what's the big idea, I still need to get dressed!"
Nadine shrugged. "Yeah so? Afraid to do it when a girl is watching?"
Nickay blushed. "J-just look the other way will ya?"
"Tsk, fine.." Nadine looked the other way while Nickay got dressed quickly.
"Phew.. Anyways what are you doing here?" Nickay asked her.
"Just thought we could do something together." Nadine told him.
Nickay looked at the alarm clock which displayed 9:00 AM.
"At this time in the morning?.." Nickay asked while still rubbing his eyes.
Nadine smiled at him. "You're sure a sleepyhead huh?"
"You don't want to know.." Forte said from out his PET.
"Urk, you only talk when you want to criticize me don't you?" Nickay glared at his navi.
Forte grinned at him. "Better than not talking at all right?"
Nickay still glares. "Well i liked you better when you were quiet..."
Nadine poked Nickay with her elbow. "Hey be a little more nice to Forte."
"But but but..." Nickay closed his eyes half. "Now you're picking his side too..."

it's good, you got the navi's personalities down, but the only thing I have to ask would be, how Dark Rockman & Forte are their navis, I doubt either one of them would lower themselves to having Operators. But other then that, it was good ^^

Chapter II: Turn to the Darkness

Nadine and Nickay decided to go to the city. There were a lot of shops there, most of them being Tech stores.
And a lot of Battlechip stores also. "I bet i can even get some powerups for Forte here!" Nickay being all excited.
But what they didn't notice, was that a man in a dark suit was following them and keeping an eye on them.
Even though, one navi did notice him..
"Hey did anyone notice we're being followed?" Dark Rockman grinned..
"Seems someone is interested in little old us.."
Nickay turned around. "Hey! What are you following us for?!"
The man quickly tried to escape, but Nickay and Nadine chased him off to a dark backstreet.
"Huh where did he go?" Nadine looked around confused.
"So you two trailed me all the way here... I must say i'm impressed.." Said a voice from out of the dark.
"Who goes there?!" Shouted Nickay. "You could call me an admirer.." the black clad man stepped out of the shadows and took off his hat.
"Who the hell are you?!" Nadine asked him being all mad.
"You may call me... Dr. Regal..." The man had black hair and a black beard. He wore a strange kind of glass on his right eye.
"Sooo... Doc, what do you want from us?" Nickay glared him down.
"I have seen the potential your navi's have.. But with a little boost, they could easily become the strongest navi's in existance!"
Nadine and Nickay looked at eachother and then at their navi's. "A.. little boost?" Asked Nadine.

Meanwhile somewhere else, Joe spends some time training together with Sophia.
"Hah! and there, take this! Flametower slot in!" Joe shouted.
Sophia giggles seeing her boyfriend training so hard. "You are sure excited ne?"
"Well, yeah, we gotta train hard!" Joe smiled at Sophia. "I don't want to lose to Nickay and Forte again.."
Sophia patted his back. "I'm sure you and Fireman will do well in the tournament." She smiled friendly.
"So are Mina and Aya going to enter the tournament?" She asked him.
"Well i think so.. At least i know Aya is going to enter with Starman."
Mina and Aya are Joe's little sisters. Mina is 12 years old and Aya is 10 years.
But both of them are very good at netbattling for their age.
"You're afraid that if Mina enters you're going to have to battle her right?" Sophia smiled.
"Well, I don't like to be put up against her, or Aya.."

Back to Nadine and Nickay in the conversation with their stalker.
"These are called Dark Chips. They give your navi unlimited power!" Regal shows them a purple battlechip with a strange core.
Nickay whispered to Nadine. "I don't like the looks of this... I doubt we can trust this guy.."
Nadine whispered back. "Yeah, there is something strange about him.."
Before they could try to escape Regal throws them both a Dark Chip. "Maybe you would like to try it out yourself.."
They both looked at the Dark Chip in their hands. "So what do we pay you huh?" Nadine asked.
"Oh nothing at all! I would just like to see you two make it far in the tournaments." Regal grinned.
"Ooookaaaayyy... Well if you'll excuse us, we'll be outta here." Nickay backed away from Regal slowly.
"Hehehe... Do as you wish, but don't dissappoint me.." Regal then suddenly dissappeared."
Nadine rubbed her eyes. "D-did you just saw what i saw?.."
Nickay was speechless and just stared into the alley...

Back in the park, the group re-united and Nickay and Nadine explained all that happened.
"Are you sure you can trust that man?" Joe asked.
"Of course not..." Nickay replied. "But who knows, this thing might just come in handy" he grinned.
"I don't know about that, maybe it's dangerous" Sophia showed an expression of concern.
Nadine just laughed. "Dark Rockman lives for these things, so he should be just fine."
Dark Rockman grinned "I eat Dark Chips for breakfast!"
"Maybe we should get it examined by Higsby." Blues quickly thought up.
"Great idea! Higsby can tell us if it's good or not!" Sophia quickly stood up.
The rest nodded and came with her, to Higsby's Chip Shop.
Higsby was just busy putting some chips in the right order, when Joe shouted his name, wich startled him so much he fell along with the chips.
"*snort* Huh! What are you all doing here?" Higsby stood up wiping all the dust off him.
"We came to ask about this chip here.." Nadine handed over the Dark Chip.
"*Gasp!* T-this can't be! huh!" Higsby looked shocked to see the chip.
"Is something wrong with it Mr. Higsby?" Sophia seemed a little surprised.
"Y-you must get rid of it as quickly as possible huh!" Higsby quickly returned the chip to Nadine.
"T-this chip gives a navi very much power.. But in return their souls get corrupted, and they turn evil..."
"That's okay.. Dark Rockman is already evil anyways!" Nadine grinned and then hugs her PET.
"You don't care at all about what it does?" Sophia poked Nadine in the side.
"Nah, not really." Nadine went on hugging her PET making Dark Rockman blush a bit.
Nickay looked at the Dark Chip in the palm of his hand. He said nothing, and then puts the chip in his chip sack.

Nickay and Joe both walked back home, already separated from the girls.
"Sooo, tell me.. Do you like Nadine?" Joe asked while grinning.
Nickay blushed at the mention of it. "M-maybe..."
"Maybe a lot.." Forte not showing his smile under his cloak.
"B-be quiet, or else i will turn you off." Nickay threatened his navi.
"So you like her huh?" Joe put his arms behind his head.
"Yeah.. so?.." Nickay still blushes.
"Nothing, Me and Sophia have something too, so why cant you two?"
"Meh.. I doubt she likes me though..." Nickay looked down at the ground.
