Maybe so then there won't be multiple threads whenever a person wants to leave, comes back, etc etc?

Hellos and Goodbyes is cleaned out every Friday. The reason people can't post in there is because all they would post is "Hi, welcome to REO, beware the fangirls and read the rules!"

No, what I meant is, for example, if I type up a thread stating 'I will be going to camping', then I can post again in the same thread when I come back, so I wouldn't have to make two separate threads.

If it's cleaned out every week, and you're gone for over a week, your topic won't be there anymore anyway, so it's pointless, since you're not supposed to make a "goodbye" topic unless you're going to be gone for a week or more.

Well, what happens if you suddenly have a change of plans and won't be going anymore?

If you suddenly have a change, then just post, it's not like it won't be deleted a week later anyway.
