If we have a sprite Comic on another forum, can we post a link to that forum?

That could be considered advertisement for the other forum, so I would say no you can't. But what you can do is post a link to your comic if you are hosting it on a server of your own, but you will only be able to post one comic and a link to the comics site for people to go to to see updates if they wish. REO can not support comics or be used as a forum exclusively for your comics, so please keep that in mind.

The last bit of that was for everyone and not just meant as a reply to the above post. :P

Well, the punishment was already dealt out in the thread was locked and you were notified about it. You are still fairly new to the forum so you have a slight grace period for you to get to know the rules, and now that you know you won't break them again or so I hope.

Do revamps go under the recolour rule or are they allowed to be posted?

That depends on what you mean by revamping a sprite, could you be a bit more clearer or give an example.

Well revamping is taking a GBC sprite and totally improving its shading.

On the Left is the GBC version and on the right is my revamp.

So basically a sprite conversion of the original sprite to one that has a higher bit rate. I think that would be okay as long as the quality of it is done well.

Morph Man, you can post a link to your sprite comic in the thread that you have created, but I think that you would have to set up your own website so that you won't be advertizing another message board in your post. There are still some places online that you can set up a free website. If you are to make a link to your comic, bare in mind that you can only post a link to only one of them and that is all.

Generally I think that would classify as advertising for another site and forum with your post, which is against the rules of the forum to do. You can post the first page of your comic in a thread here, with a link to it for people to visit afterwards to keep up with it, and a link in your signature which is standard. But I find that having your own site and not depending on a second party to host them works out better for those running the sprite comics.

A person operating their own site doesn't have to worry about the other person suddenly changing their mind on things or the site going under and taking their comics with it as it closes down. You also have more freedom to the design of the site and the layout. There are still some free hosting services out there, they may be limited in space and bandwidth, but they are a good way to start.
