Blue Moon or Red Sun?

What are the differences between red sun and blue moon? Are the souls the only thing different between the 2 games?

No there are different giga chips as well. As the title suggest there are the red sun giga chip and the blue moon giga chip

The only story differences are the tournment scenarios with the verison specific Navis.

The "storyline" is identical for both games, but the tournaments are randomly generated from the game's stock of scenarios. Otherwise, the non-tournament related items are just fine.

Thanks for the info. I wanted to make sure before I chose. I'm about to pick red sun or blue moon. It seems as if many people picked red sun as their favorite so.. yeah. :/

The tournament scenarios are not random. In Red Sun on easy you always fight Ponta, Gutsman and Topman in that order. On the second difficulty you fight that Heel navi, Sparkman and Fireman. It's not random.

Personally, I wasn't quite fond of Windsoul. His airshot buster annoyed me, and he seemed slower than normal Rockman. Thank god for Gutsman's +30 for normal chips. Vulcan's became deadly!!!

Anyways I can't pick a favorite, because I'm partial to the souls of both games. I must say that Searchsoul was really awesome though.

The only fixed encounter you have as far as tournaments go is Gutsman and Aquaman, who you will always encounter in match 2 of the first tournament. That's because they only made one soul tutorial in each game.

Aside from that, there's some other subtle patterns to the tournament lineups. For one thing it seems you'll always have to fight a normal/heel navi, a soul navi, and a non-soul non-normal navi all in the same lineup. For instance you can have Normal - Guts - Spark, but never Normal - Heel - Guts. It also seems the order in which you fight them is fixed for each tournament.

In the end, the number of possible tournament lineups is pretty easy to compute. With all the restrictions there's not a lot of room for freedom, and that's why a lot of people get the same thing.

Four words why I go for Blue Moon- Blues Soul and Blue. Those are reasons I bought it instead of Red Sun.

But the souls in Blue Moon seem more helpful overall, not to mention that the Blue Moon GigaChip can destroy LifeAuras if it hits AND disable your enemy's customizer.

Searchsoul is only helpful SOMETIMES (like against Bass...), RollSoul is only good if you have a lot of chips with the same code, GutsSoul is mainly good because of the +30 for normal chips....you get the idea. I'm kind of partial to Red Sun's souls...

And Bass' gigachip in Blue Moon can do 160x2x2 (640) if you're in full-synchro.

All B.M's souls seem to be more helpful for virus busting AND Netbattling. Especially because of AquaSoul's inability to slip on ice.

So...I'd say Blue Moon.

I only played a little bit of Red Sun.. But I played all of Blue Moon.. And I seemed to like Blue Moon better. I enjoyed it a little better than Red Sun, anyway.

Okay enough of this better stuff, m'kay? People seem to forget that a persons power lies in their individuality, not their 'Version'. No two people are going to go through Rockman 5 the same way, no two people are going to get the same pokemon the same way, no two people will go and get the same ending of chrono trigger by playing through the same way because EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! Amazing, ne?

I chose Blue Moon, not because it was better, not because it was blue, not even because it has the moon in it! I chose it because I felt like it, I chose it out of convinience, and I chose it out of the thin white clouds that line that big sky. It's funny how people seem to go after a color rather than their feelings...

Ok, I'm going with Red Sun because it better suits my playing style. Gutssoul has a lot of power and I use the buster a lot anyway. Rolls soul is good for recovery, and I have an easy time with searchsoul. I find all the red sun souls are usefull to the way I play.

Except Windsoul. For some reason I always had trouble with that one.

I picked Blue Moon for the aqua soul, but now i dont even use it >_< .I think that blue moon has better souls because when i fight against my cousin (that has red sun) i can use chips that she has used against me, for example Bass Laughing

i also think that number soul is better in making PA´s than search soul.
