I have really got to stop supposing things about your limits. Whenever I think that you have reached your limit of absurdity, you come along and go incredibly deeper. And yet, in the back of my mind, I had to expect that something like this just HAD to happen.

Excellent work--this will surely keep me going for hours to come.

Somehow, I just knew one of those two would have to give the other CPR eventually ... and that the reciever would react exactly that way ... but when it did come it was still funny as heck!

Nekooooo XDD That scene of the CPR was absolutely brilliant! I am loving the way the fanfic's coming up, and the random crack at any time. I also love how you're portraying Saito and Barrel the most, you're developing their personalities so much while being subtle about it X3 I really love it.

“Hello?” Netto called out in the empty field. She had been there for ten minutes and still nothing had happened. She slowly backed up in the dark field before she felt something pressed against her back. “YAH!” she yelled out and summoned her sword, pointing it at whatever was near her.

“Settle down!” someone said quickly.

Netto recognized the voice, “Enzan?” she asked.

“You felt it too?” Enzan replied.

Netto nodded, “Of course I did. It’s not exactly hard to miss, is it?” she asked.

Enzan shrugged, “Depends on how much you were paying attention.”

Netto narrowed her eyes, “You know I still have this,” she muttered while waving the sword in front of his face.

Enzan eyed it nervously, “I’m well aware,” he replied.

“Then I suggest you don’t tick me off,” she hissed.

“As much as I personally would love to see how this pans out,” a cold voice said, “I’m afraid time is starting to run low.”

Netto and Enzan both turned around to face Laika and Search who were standing side by side and looking very serious. “I’ll maim you later,” Netto muttered and ran at Laika.

“Oh joy,” Enzan replied and launched his own attack on Search.

Laika side stepped Netto first attack and blocked the second with his own sword. Netto looked vaguely surprised so he said, “What, you thought I only would attack with flowers?”

Netto growled and pushed harder on her own sword making him stagger backwards. “What the hell do you want this time?” she hissed.

Laika vanished and reappeared behind Netto, “The same thing we’ve wanted this whole time, you,” he muttered.

Netto whirled around and nearly caught Laika in the head with her sword. As it was she managed to cut a lock of his hair off before he could block the blow. “You get the hell away from me,” she said.

Laika grinned, “You fight very well for a princess.”

Netto slammed her blade into his with a force that made Laika wince. “WHAT the hell did you just call me?”

Laika sighed, “You’ll see in a few hours,” he said and pushed her back with ridiculous ease.

Netto tripped over her own feet and landed on her butt while Laika towered over her. Netto scoffed and thrust her sword upwards forcing Laika to stagger back while she stood up. “Or I’ll beat you here and I’ll be in bed and asleep in a few hours. Tomorrow is the weekend buddy, I want my free time.”

Search eyed Netto out of the corner of his eye, “Interesting person,” he said while parrying off with Enzan.

“You have no idea,” Enzan replied dryly.

Laika forced Netto to take another step back but before she could react he reached out and grabbed the broach that made up the front of her costume. “This is what gives you your power,” he said and twisted it making Netto cry out in pain. “And if I take it away you’ll be as human as your older brother.”

Netto grabbed his arm in an effort to make him let go but he pulled on it making her cry out again as her costume was reduced to ribbons. Finally Laika managed to pull it off and Netto collapsed on the ground, taking in deep breaths to try and clear the pain.

Laika held the broach in his hands as he looked down on Netto. “This is what allows you to unlock the power inside of you. The other half is inside you, I must say it is an ingenious system devised by the original princess but it cost her everything and now it will cost you as well.”

Netto managed to take a breath deep enough to say, “Go to hell,” before collapsing back onto the ground.

“You are really annoying,” Laika said.

Netto growled, “And you’re a jerk, so?”

Laika smiled icily, “I don’t think you’re in any position to threaten me.”

“No, but I am!” Enzan yelled as he ran towards them and hit Laika in the stomach with his staff. Then he grabbed Netto’s wrist and hissed, “Come on,” while pulling the bedraggled youth out of the clearing.

“Laika-san?” Search asked.

Laika grimaced as he knelt on the ground. “Don’t worry, they can’t do anything without this,” he said looking at the broach. “Follow them,” he said nodding at the clearing of trees they had just run into.

Search nodded then vanished.

Enzan finally guessed that they were far away enough to talk so he could find out what happened. He turned around to look at Netto and stopped cold. “Netto?” he asked.

“Hm?” Netto replied.

“Uhh…” Enzan coughed then pointed down. Netto looked down and saw something that wasn’t there earlier that evening.

“WHAT?” she screeched.

Enzan blushed, Netto may have been in her pajamas but it was still clear that she was quite female at that time. “You…”

“WHAT ARE THESE!?” Netto yelled pointing to her chest.

Enzan eyed her, “I’m not going to answer that,” he told her.

“I… what happened!?” she cried out.

Nova mysteriously appeared out of nowhere. “You were forced out of your transformation. So, in essence, you’re still transformed, you just don’t have your power.”

Netto ground her teeth together, “Oh that’s it, Laika is SO going down now.”

“Wait!” Enzan snapped, “You can’t possibly go after him.”

“Oh yes I can,” Netto said. “And I will.”

“He’s trying to kidnap you! And you’re just going to waltz up to him and beat the crap out of him while you’re essentially human?” Enzan asked her.

“YES!” Netto yelled. “I will get back my damn broach thing and I will turn back into a guy, then I will kick Laika’s ass.”

“In that order?” Enzan asked her.

“Oh shut up,” Netto muttered and started to walk through the forest in her pajamas.

“Stop her,” Nova said.

Enzan ran in front of Netto. “What?” she snapped.

“I wish I could say I didn’t want to do this,” Enzan said, “But that would be lying.”

Netto blinked once before Enzan punched her in the stomach and she collapsed in his arms. She couldn’t even come up with a snarky retort before she passed out. “Good save,” Nova muttered.

“Why the hell are they after Netto?” Enzan asked.

“I’ll explain that when we get somewhere safe,” Nova said.

Enzan nodded and they vanished, retreating to Enzan’s house for the time being.

Even though I'm not in my prime right now, and I'm feeling rather depressed, this STILL manages to put a smile on my face. I didn't expect some of the subject matter from "Little Predicaments" to make a cameo, but then again, it is very apt for the situation. Netto's quite 'spunky,' I suppose, eh?

oh shyyte.... i wanna doujin this whole fic so badly (title page and all) but i can't.... at least not until a break from school. >_< darnit!!

oh well, i guess i'll just doodle little scenes from this fic until i get my time to do a formal doujin for this. ^_^ awesome chapter~

Netto groaned and stirred on the couch some time later. “Wha…?” she murmured.

“You finally woke up,” Enzan said looking at Netto with a touch of concern.

Netto sat up, growling, “You knocked me out!” she snapped.

Enzan handed her a cup of tea. “You were being stupid,” Enzan said. “Besides, you can’t beat Laika like that.”

“Says who?” growled Netto into her cup before sipping it.

“Says quite a few people, including me,” Nova sniffed.

“You!” Netto snapped. “Where the hell have you been?”

“I’ve been trying to keep you, ‘Miss I go off on my own’ out of trouble,” Nova retorted.

Netto clenched her tea cup but didn’t reply for lack of anything to actually reply with.

Enzan eyed Nova, “So?” he asked.

“So what?”

“So, why the hell are the freaky alien people after me?” Netto asked.

Nova sighed, “Remember way back when you picked up that stone?”

“Yeah,” Netto replied.

“That stone was called the ‘Heart of Star’ and when it accepted you as its host for power your body absorbed it and it began to become part of your body.”

Netto raised an eyebrow, “That sounds slightly gross,” he muttered.

Nova smirked, “Well it happened. Anyways, the ‘Heart of Star’ and the tool you use to transform are two parts of one whole. Also, together the whole Star Crystal becomes one of the most powerful forces in the universe.”

Enzan coughed into his tea cup, “You’re not serious,” he said.

Nova nodded, “I’m dead serious,” she replied. “So, in the next few hours the Heart of Star will become part of your body and will be at it’s full potential. So if whoever wants the power takes it out and combines it with the Star Crystal then they will acquire untold power.”

“Greaaaat,” Netto mumbled sarcastically. “So, why don’t you just take the stupid crystal thing out of me? It would help all of us.”

“Because when it became a part of you, it literally became a part of you. If that crystal is taken out of your body, you will die.”

Netto coughed, “Excuse me?” she snapped.

“Well, how do you think the original Star Princess died,” Nova asked.

“Princess?” Netto and Enzan snapped simultaneously.

Nova nodded, “Yeah, Princess. Her name was Princess Aurora, and she ruled her home planet before she was pursued while at war with another planet. After fighting a valiant battle she separated her crystal into two and told me to find someone to carry on her legacy. Then she died,” Nova said with a small frown, which Netto figured was the equivalent to someone crying.

“So… Netto…” Enzan started.

“Is essentially Princess Aurora,” Nova nodded.

“Oh god,” Netto muttered.

Nova smiled at Netto and jumped into her lap, “Well it could be worse.”

Netto looked down and blushed, “I don’t see how,” she said.

“You could be dead,” Nova finished.

Enzan lifted his tea cup, “This is true.”

“Shut up,” Netto muttered.

Just then there was a knock on the door. Enzan sighed and stood up to open it. When he did a frantic Saito greeted him, “Is Netto-kun here?”

Enzan blinked, “Yes…” he said slowly.

Saito forgot all manners and passed Enzan into the house. “Netto-kun, where have you…” Saito’s voice slowly trailed away.

Netto stood up and started at her twin then she began to blush furiously. “I…”

Saito walked forward and asked, “What happened?”

Netto frowned, walked over to Saito and merely hugged him, burying her face into his neck so Enzan couldn’t see the few tears that managed to leak out.

Saito smiled gently and hugged Netto back, “Hard night?” he asked.

Netto nodded and Saito patted her on the back. “It’s all right, at least you’re safe,” he murmured. “And that’s all that matters.”

Enzan walked away from them so that Netto could explain everything that had happened up until that point.

“Enzan-sama?” Blues asked.

Enzan sighed, “This is getting more and more complicated,” he muttered.

“Are you worried?” Blues asked him.

Enzan frowned, “I…” he slowly trailed off. “Yes,” he said softly. “Blues, they want to kill her… him… Netto.”

Blues frowned, “I know,” he said. “But you’re doing everything you can.”

Enzan looked back into the living room where Saito had set Netto down on the couch and was making her tell the whole story. Netto looked less then happy, but far less angry then she was before. Enzan nodded to Blues, “But this isn’t over,” he said quietly.

Blues shrugged, “Enzan-sama, if I may. Maybe you should just stop worrying about it,” he said. “For now, things are all right, and worrying about it will only make things worse.”

Enzan gave Blues a half smile, “Yeah,” he said. “Thanks Blues.”

“You’re welcome, Enzan-sama,” Blues replied.

Five minutes later, Netto had managed to finish telling the whole story to Saito who merely nodded the whole time. At the end he just leaned forward and hugged Netto tightly, “I’m sorry, Netto-kun,” he said.

“For what?” Netto asked.

“That you have to go through all of this,” Saito said. “But I can’t tell you how proud I am that you ultimately chose to do the right thing.”

Netto blushed, “Only because I had to.”

Saito smiled, “And because you knew it was right.”

Netto smirked, “Yeah, but don’t tell anyone.”

Saito ruffled Netto’s hair, a gesture he knew annoyed her, “You’re secret’s safe with me.”

Alright. Another one of my definite favorites. :D

Anyway....it's down to a slower pace, which is probably necessary after that surely harrowing experience in the chapter before last. Somehow I imagined Saito to be a bit more shocked at Netto's....polymorphism...and how he's stuck in one state at the moment...but then again, rationality seems to overcome all...even if this was a little high on the "moony" scale...

All of your fics put a smile on my face, but this one probably does so more effectively than perhaps all of your others. Excellent job.

After awhile they merely declined to watching late night TV and Netto dropped off to sleep, Enzan not long after. Netto fell asleep with her head on Saito’s lap and Enzan had fallen asleep in his favorite recliner. Saito sighed and leaned back while Blues came into the living room.

“Hard night?” he asked.

Saito gave him a small grin, “Stressful,” he said. “Netto-kun is… scared. I don’t know if anyone else can tell, but he is. And that makes me kinda scared,” Saito admitted.

Blues blinked, “Why?”

“Netto-kun is the braver of us for sure. He’s always willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, and in that way I kinda envy him. He does what he wants to when he wants to. No one can make him do anything. So, if he’s scared then… something must be really wrong,” Saito said softly.

Blues nodded, “Enzan-sama is very much the same,” he said.

Saito looked at him in surprise and Blues continued, “I have been taking care of Enzan-sama since he was 8, when his mother died. His father employed me because he worked so much, and I suspect, he couldn’t handle it. Enzan-sama has a very… unique outlook on life. He views it through the eyes of an adult and in a way that makes him very imposing. Netto-san was one of the first people to treat him like… a kid.”

“He is a kid,” Saito pointed out.

“Yes, but don’t tell Enzan-sama that,” Blues said with a small smile.

Saito laughed softly, “All right, I won’t,” he said and set Netto on the couch so he could stand up. “Where is the bathroom?” he asked sheepishly.

“Down the hall, first door on your left,” Blues instructed.

Saito nodded and disappeared down the hall. Five minutes later there was a loud crash that jerked both Netto and Enzan out of their peaceful naps. “What?” they yelled.

Blues looked at where Saito had disappeared and frowned. “Blues?” Enzan asked.

“Saito-san might have fallen,” Blues said finally.

“Or he might be right here,” a cold voice said to their left.

All three whirled around to see Laika standing there with his arms crossed while Search was holding a terrified looking Saito who looked like he had no idea what was going on.

Netto gritted her teeth and Enzan growled, “So, you’re back,” he spat.

“I am,” Laika said. “And I am the one holding the cards here.”

“Don’t listen!” Nova yelled.

Netto didn’t hear her because he was intently focusing on Saito. Laika followed her gaze and smirked, “Well then, you know my next line. Either you come with us, or he will die.”

Netto took in a sharp breath when a sword appeared in Search’s hand and it was pressed against Saito’s throat, drawing the slightest amount of blood. “Don’t,” Saito whispered.

Enzan growled and stepped forward but Netto stopped him. “Let Saito-nii-san go first,” she hissed.

Laika frowned, “And let you get away again?”

Netto gave him a merciless grin, “I’m only human, remember?” she asked.

“Netto, don’t be an idiot!” Enzan snapped.

Netto ignored him and glared at Laika, “Let him go now,” she said slowly.

“I’m not stupid you know,” Laika said dryly.

“I won’t run away,” Netto sniffed. “I’m not cowardly like you.”

Laika’s eyes flashed dangerously before he nodded. Searchman vanished and Saito collapsed to his knees. Laika vanished and reappeared behind Netto. “I’ll hold you to your promise, princess,” he muttered in her ear before grabbing her and vanishing as well.

I know it's short and I'm sorry but I'm really tired. If I get enough love for this chapter maybe I'll continue this bit and post more tomorrow :D
